Man this song really moves, never heard it before, but have to say the more I hear of Eddie Cochran I really like. Thanks for posting, that cat could really rip it up.
Thanks for this piece of nostalgia. "Peg fourteens" never really caught on in the UK back then. We preferred the narrower "drainpipes" that tapered all the way down. I once managed to wear a pair with 11" bottoms - but I had to unscrew my feet to get them on!
I often find myself asking the question: "How can I go catting without them crazy pink peg slacks?" The answer is of course, I can't. Eddie Cochran is a legend.
Thank you. It ain't that difficult as I started to like 50's RnRoll and Eddie as a kid in mid 70's. So I have had some time to gather info from here and there. If you haven't, then do yourself a favor and buy the book "Three Steps To Heaven" by Eddies nephew Bobby Cochran & Susan Van Hecke. Lotsa info there and a good read (of course). Check Amazon. About "I Almost Lost My Mind" I don't have it on CD only vinyl. But I think this song should be easier to obtain compared to the ones you posted.
Thanks for the book recomandation, I haven't been into 50s music for that long (just a few months), I still have a lot to learn! I found a CD with I almost lost my mind on it, I'm going to buy it :)
Damn! Wrong, 21th birthday as it was Oct 1959. The man at left in first pic is Denny Thomson, road manager, also hangin over the pno. He look like a wise guy. Hmmm. These photos was from Oct 3/4. Another pic from same place show Janet Redfern giving Ed the keys of Chadron. He also got a trophy naming him #1 singer voted by listeners of KOBH
First pick here: That guy w/microphone is Ed's good friend Rook. That guy to left I belive is Ed's road manager. This pic is from Chadron, Nebraska when Eddie turned 20yrs old. Yeah they had a big cake for him.
this is my new theme song.
