  • I sm such a big fan. I have a Jackie Evancho Calendar

  • This gave me chills. What a voice!

  • It's so lucky she is not a boy, she don't need to worry about crazy voice change, bless you =)

  • if wings would of sprouted out of her back..it would of been expected..they were clapping and everything...but you if you really think about it it was a really errie kind of god like moment..really spooky...how she looks from like right out of a story book..the crowd should of been quiet and went to there knees and prayed !

  • she makes it look so easy.

  • videos like this are why i trawl the world of youtube. she so totally dominates that song with voice/charisma/gesture. truly a superstar, my comment can't do it justice. words can not fathom a response to goose bumps like that

  • I love singing, I think I have an amazing talent, but I can't even say I'm better than Jackie. She will forever be God's Prodigy. She is an angel, and those you have great singing voices and say they're better than this little girl, they know nothing. People can't even lie about that.

  • i love you!!! you're amazing! your voice, everything!!!! really :)

  • Everytime Jackie sings, an angel gets its wings.

  • I'm not for judging ones gift. All I know is this young lady brings tears to my eyes

  • If any person questions whether humans really feel love, just tell the to listen to and look at Jackie. She has the power to fill us all with love for each other.

  • Human language has no desriptive words for that performance....

  • This performance doesn't deserve any feedback from the judges. It ruins the affect of the flawless song.

  • I'm 13 years old. I'm going to be singing this song at an audition with judges. I can hit the high note, but it doesn't come out as gracefully as Jackie's voice. She sings way better than me and she's 11! Sigh...I wish Jackie could lend me her voice for a day...

  • every little gesture is perfect. And its like she's manipulating the music notes with his arms and hands. she seems to grab that final note between her two fingers and then lets it go to end the performance. unbelievable.

  • When I see her in this video, the pefect back-lighting highlighting her hair, the beautiful gown, the fog generator all come together to make her seem to be standing on the clouds.....which fits perfectly with this angelic performance. She's super girl. No other singer has EVER affected me the way she does. God, I love this little girl.

  • love the lady behind the judges when piers was talking....

  • Comment removed

  • soothing to the soul.......

  • There is a warmth in her voice that fills my heart and comforts my soul. This is one of the most fulfilling performances I've ever experienced. I know what Sharon means by "heavenly."

  • I'm flabbergasted. If I heard this without seeing her I would have guessed her age at 20's to 50 years old. Amazing voice.

  • The lady judge criticised piers and then did the same thing as he by refering the performance back to her.

  • Somebody tell the african american announcer to hold back the enthusiasm! Pathetic.

  • speechless.

  • stunning

  • One person hit dislike 332 times,

  • sounds like she memorized that little speech

  • @fairydung So what if she did? What's your point?

  • her mum is preety

  • I never thought it could happen but now I know of a little girl that can sing this song a lot better, check her out her name is 11 year old Jackie Evencho, but you better hurry, next year there will be an even better singer of this song. I think you know who that will be.

  • @littlejackrussell12 Misspell Jackie's name... tsk, tsk.

  • @Laundis It happens, I only missed it by this _ much. lol I should be taken out and shot.

  • Some people live life as if nothing is a miracle. Other people say that everything is a miracle.

For me everything is a miracle, esp Jackie.

  • omg, I didnt cry until she spoke, I was trying to hold it together, mannnn is this kid great or what? and to top it off shes cute and humble at that, and how old is she? omg at her age I was a lil shit, and still am lmfao

  • @ceileenchambers77 She was 10 years old in this video. She is 11 now and currently touring Japan.

  • @HotRodder2100 She's touring Japan!? =D

  • @StrawberryAbbey06 Yes! She sang for the Emperor and Empress of Japan yesterday!

Watch her singing Ombra Mai Fu today:

    watch?v=jb2oOO45Zrg

  • @HotRodder2100 TY for the info!! =D that's great!

  • @ceileenchambers77 Of all the success she has had since AGT 2010, she still remains sweet and humble. What her fans love most about Jackie aside from her beautiful singing is that she is so polite. Last year some publication named her as one of the most polite people in the entertainment world. She is a good role model for kids and adults too. Of course, a big chunk of the credit goes to her parents. Also she has wonderful siblings and a huge extended family that support her and her dream.

  • Sounds like Charlotte church's performance when she was younger. Beautiful!

  • @StargazingForJesus Almost, but not quite.

  • that was beyond AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd like to sing with her one day to make my dad proud too!

    Kamilla(9)

  • Oh and I forgot to mention, at such a young age, she is able to show so much emotion...it is so wonderful!

  • Amazing- I cried, this is so beautiful Jackie, as someone else said, perhaps Heaven is missing an Angel...

Even speaking normally you have such a mature voice that touches my heart.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful voice!

  • i dont know how to put into words what i just witnessed :o

  • Sep 7, 2010 a 10 year old girl captured my heart, made my eyes cried, touched my soul, and made me belive in earth bound ANGELS amoung us. Jackie you won me over, and I became a BIG FAN, and bought everything you have made, including " Come dream with me concert" on BluRay, which I think is AWESOME.... GOD BLESS YOU JACKIE!!!

  • @365cumoniwnt2leyu Yeh, she Hy-JACKIE-d me also.....I've been swooped up..

  • She holds the last note by her fingers, raises it and lets it go as the song comes to an end. Such control with such grace,

  • On a scale of one to a gazillion.......she's a gazillion.

  • The word "heavenly" seems dirty prior to this performance. Jackie's voice is truely a gift from God. I'm taking it too far - but Jackie and her voice is analogous to Jesus and the Virgin Mary. God's gift residing in a pure vessel.

  • As I weep here as a 43 year old Air Force Officer I'll say this: If there was a lightning strike and left there was a package with a note TO: "The World" FROM: "God" You'd open it and find Jackie Evancho. PS - Look at the girl in the backgroup of Piers Morgan in the purple dress. She mouths "She's amazing" "Oh my God". It would have been amazing to see her then- live.

  • W-w-w-w-w-w-w-WOW!! T-this was AMA-AMAZING :))

  • did she win?

  • @music18peace No. She was second.

  • What is a browed up ???? J'aimerais bien savoir !!!!

  • what a little angel. bless her soul.

  • My God.....how can heaven go on with out one of its best angels singing for us mere mortals?

  • MAYOR GOOSEBUMPS!!

  • اكلوا تبن كلكم

  • Stop comparing Charlotte and Jackie. YOU GUYS ARE SO STUPID. Both of them are great singers, Jackie is now the new thing, but don't forget that Charlotte had once inspired us all. So you people have no right to hate on either Charlotte or Jackie. Because you all didn't contribute to them to improve this talent that they have!

  • @popups46okay What really put Charlotte into the orbit was the huge Ford Motor Company campaign. Those commercials that Ford Motor Company had was in a way kinda like what Titanic did for Celine. Perhaps someday Jackie will get sing a movie theme song or be part of a ad campaign. Although she is doing pretty good.

  • @oakgrasssib That's what being celebrity is like. Either they use you to get famous or you use them to be famous. It's a world of Endorsement and publicity. Just like America's got talent. they have to have good contestants for people to watch them. And the contestants have to be good to be in America's got talent. Like give and take relationship, simple as that.

  • @popups46okay Yep, no question. I worked at FMC when The Ford/Charlotte campaign was launched. It was launched during the North American International Auto Show at Detroit's Cobo Center. The international press was out in force as is always the case during the NAIAS. That was a MASSIVE ad campaign.

  • @popups46okay AGT actually turned away Jackie twice. It was the voting public that voted for Jackie that got her on the show (YouTube), not AGT producers. Jackie saved that season for AGT that season. Jackie pulled in the viewers. The producers owe Jackie a big thank you. When Jackie appeared she got the best ratings. The producers got so lucky that the voting public put Jackie on that show.

  • @oakgrasssib Yes but their beginning is just a history. All of this would not happen if Charlotte and Jackie didn't have the talent that they possess. So partially it was because of the people who are involved with their fame. But most of all it was just their destiny, a better way to put it is that God had planned it already. That all these things will happen to those girls. So I would say they owe big time to themselves and God than anybody else.

  • @popups46okay No argument from me. I agree 100%

  • She uses a technique common in young singers who want to sound "older" - by artificially producing this vibrato, or a wavering of the tone above and below the intended notes. Jackie obviously uses her mouth/lips/tongue for this effect. However, the intentional injection of these tones.... and controlling them on and off... and caressing them... is pure genius.. She is not simply mimmicking what she hears in Sarah Brightman... she is producing an interpretation that is indeed, a masterpiece.

  • @jdcochran0147

Wow I am impressed by your assessment of Jackie;s vocal technique !!!

Are you a trained vocalist or Music Teacher????

  • @yomamajama777

I've sung in many choirs and my wife and I sing to each other in our dreams and in our cars. (smile) Search on "The Prayer" with Jackie and Susan Boyle... it's another gem of a piece.

  • @jdcochran0147 ... and uniquely her own!

  • @pickles1979

Yes, of course. She is unique. She sings with passion. She knows what intonation is. Dynamics. Emotion. Perfection. ... and many other things that this child has mastered whilst the masses focus on Jersey Shores.

  • @jdcochran0147 Thank you...I couldn't have said it better! I love yor passion as I love this child's genious!..again, thank you!

  • @Mitchandrea100

I love my passion, too, as it is surpassed only by my comedy.

  • @jdcochran0147 yehh!!

  • Scholarship?

  • I think I'm pretty objective. I've listened to many great singers in my 65 years...and since there have been so many comparisons, I have to comment on the most recent one here.

After relistening to Charlotte Church and Jackie several times, all I can say is: Charlotte seems to lack only one thing that Jackie possesses: the Evancho magic. I listen to Charlotte and hear a wonderful singer. I listen to Jackie, and have an inspiring experience.

    To me, that's the difference.

  • Wow, ok. What's with all the bashing and arguing over qualification and who sold the most records? My view is that Charlotte Church and Jackie Evancho sing just as well as each other, they just have different sounds and everyone may like one type over the other. Personally, I like Jackie's voice over Charlotte's, but I know they are both incredible. So can't we accept that everyone has their own opinion, and sit back and just enjoy the magic that is Jackie Evancho!

  • How old is she???

  • @littlepinkladyag Jackie is 11 years old now. She was 10 in this video.

  • You know what? I love her parents too!

  • @wishbone103 Jackie's parents should give parenting lessons to the world. Just think what a grand world we would in today if all kids were raised such as Jackie.

  • how is that even possible!! wow!

  • I've never heard an Angel sing....until now...! She has the most purest voice - simply amazing...! Further more, with that beautiful dress she was wearing she could simply have flown away....! Keep it up Jackie and let us know when you're touring Ireland...!

  • Jackie is a soubrette, although some might call her a lyric soprano. No one knows what her voice will be when she passes through puberty -- Jackie herself has expressed her fear of it ("people not liking me") -- so it is a priority to capitalize on her talent as much as possible right now. I believe she'll improve immensely, and her voice will grow warmer and richer, and be able to tackle weightier arias with real depth. She already sounds remarkably like the Norwegian superstar, Sissel.

  • @RoboSlater Tht true when i was in lik 10 and 11 i was soprano 1 then wen i was lik 12 or 13 im now soprano 2 (witch i can sing alto and soprano)

  • @RoboSlater Being a norwegian, I have followed Sissels since she was a child. Jackie Evancho is a far better classical singer than Sissel ever was, Sissel lacks the "surrounding sound" of the voice that Jackie has. So also with this other 11 yrs old girl you have mentioned (forgot the name), what makes Jackies voice so special is her sound. Maybe the right word would be sonority? When it seems that there is no limit to the tones, they just float away, upwords.

  • @norwaysofen upwards

  • @norwaysofen I am an American. And I think Sissel is the best classical singer, with the most beautiful voice, in the world. Except for Jackie. I agree with you. Jackie's voice is beyond special. And it will only get fuller and richer. I don't believe we can compare any singer to Jackie. She has elevated the performance of classical music to a new level. I believe, she has, literally, redefined what beautiful voice should sound like.

  • @Mrsawyer46 I agree with you Mrsawyer. Jackie has raised the bar for singing to a new level. I have never heard anything like it in my entire life.

  • @norwaysofen

    resonance? resonates?

  • The only problem I have with her performance is the fact that I can;t stop watching it. Her voice is incredible.

  • "Pint-sized 11-year-old Jackie Evancho won numerous standing ovations for her magical and memorable performance with hit-maker David Foster at their Mandalay Bay concert Thursday night. The tiny, one-time “America’s Got Talent” contestant simply mesmerized the audience who sat silently as she worked her way through an hour of classics and pop-opera winners. Then they exploded each time she finished, jumping to their feet with thunderous applause and cheers. Jackie was beyond brilliant!" - LV Sun

  • i don't know why do have 328 dislike this video

  • close your eyes while watching this video and guess what age you think she would be.

  • J. Evancho is not only singing great, she is also so pleasant and good with her communication at a young age. What a bless from God to give the world a wonderful person.

  • She is so young so talented so beautiful so perfect

  • Incroyable merveilleux !!!

  • OMFG she is amazing! How old is she?

  • @MsPelka92

Jackie is 11 years old, she was 10 when she performed "Pie Jesu"

  • First time any singer at any time in my 47 years, had made me cried, with a voice like this, it went right to my soul, and heart, and tears just flow out of my eyes.

  • @365cumoniwnt2leyu Don't worry.. the tears eventually stop but you'll probably never stop listening. You become an Evancholic and have to keep returning for another "fix".

  • 327 Bastards!!!

  • Woooooooooooooow! I am from Czech republic (I am learn english at school)... She is fanstastic! Amazing...

  • she is just amazing! ö

  • I believe this is the best of her performances on AGT, and remains among my favorites- it really is perfection

  • @jimoha003 I think this and team I luminate's top 48 performance /watch?v=V8iAceuDv4U&list=FL3XxcB-2LJY2dQQqkY9u_2A&index=15&feature=plpp_video

  • @jimoha003 I agree.

  • Jackie should've won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

  • The essence of beauty...body, mind, spirit & talent!

  • She is simply amazing.

  • Charlotte Church has a great amount of talent. She has videos on You Tube. For all her fans

  • To all on this page...I'm begging you don't get mad at me! I love Jackie and think she is going to be awesome...but honestly listen to "O, Holy Night" Live by Charlotte Church and you will see how her power and clarity is unmatched. In the making of the movie "A Beautiful Mind", the musical director took one look at the script and said he could have no other voice than that of Charlotte Church. She reached levels that will have her remembered forever.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC I just listened to Charlotte singing O Holy Night, and I have to disagree with you. Her high notes are too shrill, and she does not have the same bell-like tone that Jackie possesses. Perhaps you prefer the type of sound that Charlotte produces, but the majority of people prefer Jackie's voice.

  • @HotRodder2100 Her high notes shrill? I'm sorry, but you just proved a major point to me. Charlotte is known as having some of the STRONGEST high notes of anyone ever, that is why David Foster and Andrew Lloyd Webber love her so much with their orchestras. Also, to say the majority is a bad opinion. Charlotte still has more album sales, much more net worth, and has sang for the queen, pope, and many others. I'm sorry, but there is no comparison yet, and Charlotte's popularity was much stronger.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC Yes, her high notes are shrill and not as pleasing as Jackie's notes in O Holy Night. CC is also 4 years older than JE, when she recoreded that song for the first time, so your comparison is meaningless. However, that being said, JE has a more pure voice even though there is the age difference.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC I got your message that you must have deleted quickly in which you stated that you would "put me in my place real quick", and provided me with your superior status ("I'm a 4.0"). I've dealt with snobs like you before, so don't threaten me or I will be the on putting you in your place.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC You say that Charlotte's popularity was much stronger? You also said that the "numbers don't lie" in regards to Church, and that "I'm wrong". Have you seen the rankings of Jackie's CDs lately? #1 Classical Albums Artist of 2011, with three of the top four albums on its 2011 year end Classical Albums chart. Did Charlotte accomplish this at age 11? I think not, Mr 4.0.

  • @HotRodder2100 I love how people have selective memory. The conversation was purely focused on the quality of two performers and it was you Sir/Madam that spewed insults because your position has no foundation. Do not project jealously and infatuation on to me cause I am not a fan of either of these girls and I am shocked that in your part of the woods, grown men are accused of being jealous of little girls! Lol! Must be a an interesting place. We are talking quality here, quality.

  • @HotRodder2100 Charlotte Church's Net Worth at her peak was over 40 million, Jackie Evancho's is 2.5 million. Numbers don't lie, overall Charlotte was an international phenomenom, and Jackie hasn't reached that status yet. I am not a hater at all, and I love Jackie. That being said, I think Jackie would be rather mad that you go on forums and disrespect some of the world'd greatest just to try to prove your point. It's very unappealing. I never said that Jackie wasn't great.

  • @HotRodder2100 Yes, #1 Classical Albums? Charlotte Church's debut album was #1 overall, and debuted hit songs in Australia, the United States, and the UK. Her second album debuted #2 with the #2, #7, #14, and #17 hits on the UK chart. It is important to keep everything in perspective. The key thing is that classical music is getting a lot of new recognition, and Jackie is to thank for much of it. She is a little musical genius.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

On the US "Billboard Top 200" [combined chart], CC's debut "Voice of an Angel" peaked at #28, and her best was at #7 for "Dream a Dream" [Christmas Album].

JE's first 2 major-label releases both peaked at #2 OVERALL, beating Michael Jackson's record for youngest with a Top 5 ever.

Overall CD sales are way down, and even Adele's "21" juggernaut this year pales by comparison to sales from CC's era [20 million was routine back then].

  • @tunanorth Yes, of course Church didn't get #2 on the US, she's from the UK. Her UK success was much higher than Evancho's US success though, numbers wise. These aren't arguable.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

From 1998-2007 By 2007, she had sold more than 10 million records worldwide[2] including over 5 million in the United States (Wiki). Jackie from 2010-2011 sold 3 million records worldwide. Jackie has sold in 1 1/2 years nearly 1/3 of the total records that Charlotte sold in 9 years (1998-2007).

Charlotte success is due to aggregate of 9 years compare to Jackie's 1 1/2 years

and will have long term success. Jackie big selling CD will come eventually

  • @yomamajama777 Lol, without considering Charlotte took 5 years off from putting out an album during the time frame you spoke of.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

That is correct, due to maternity, chain smoking, partying, drinking, . She went through a rebellious period, but is still a accomplished performer focusing on Pop.

The question is can she succeed like Susan Boyle today?

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

Please use YouTube search words "Charlotte Church Big Big Talent Show" [yes there are two "bigs"].

Listen to her "Pie Jesu" at age 11 1/2.

    Please report back.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

Number of albums sold worldwide before 12th birthday:

    JE- 2 million.

    CC- Zero.

Please do "apples to apples" comparisons; which will not be possible until spring of 2013.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC Thank you thank thank you! You have picked up exactly what I have observed too. It appears they have have great affection for Jackie(and that's fines) but it's clouding their judgement. If anything, I would say Jackie is a little shrill and wabbly. They are just not listening, simple as that.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC ...and yes, we are talking about classical quality not great singing voice as they seem to have confused.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC 'infinitely superior'? Wow! I have never placed Evancho so far beneath Church(if anything it's a minor gap).Where do you people get these ideas from? My point was/is that church was more mature basically and being more vocally mature means being better. You have no right tell me what I should and should not reveal about my credentials Sir/Madam and of course, that has some relevance to the strength of my argument and I will most certainly use it. Thank you.

  • @EarlRegent I wrote this comment without reading some of the other comments, and for that I apologize. I do think this discussion has got too heated, and has kind of lost perspective. I came on to listen to the song and appreciate the music, I saw the comments, and couldn't help but join in. I am partly to blame, but it seems like a battle of Charlotte fans vs. Jackie fans...and I'm neither...I'm just a music fan, but I think they think differently.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

Please use YouTube key word search with: "Charlotte Church Big Big Talent Show" [yes there are 2 "bigs"].

Shows her performance of "Pie Jesu" at age 11 1/2.

    Please report back.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC Apology accepted and I think I am ready to abandon the argument as well. Let us wish them both success, cheers!

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

Not hating on anybody [personally like CC], just want accuracy in age reporting because it is SO key with these performers when "power' is discussed.

CC recorded OHN about 4 months before her "15th" BD, whereas JE recorded it about the same interval before her "11th" BD.

    A 9th grader vs. a 5th grader.

    Huge difference.

Upon JE's album release in spring of 2013, a comparison may be valid; but until then it cannot be done.

    Honestly, my "opinion" differs

  • @tunanorth Very good points. I'm saying Jackie could very easily be at the same level or higher, but she's classically not yet. When Church sang "Pie Jesu" growing up, Rupert Murdoch offered her a 100 pounds to sing it at his wedding. Being a funeral song, Church tried to persuade him for another, Murdoch replied, "I don't care if it's a wedding or a funeral, I love that song." The same goes for the queen and the pope.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC 100K pounds

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC I realy do enjoy Charlotte as a singer and thought she had a brilliant future. However, I fault her handlers and trainers for not slowing down her use of that brilliant voice. The choises she made also did not help. So far I have seen mutch greater itellegence frrom Ms Evancho's trainers and I hope they continue protect her voice.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC

Use the YouTube search words: "Charlotte Church Big Big Talent Show" to hear her Pie Jesu at age 11 1/2.

    Please report back.

  • @tunanorth We have left the age debate ages ago, perhaps you did not get the memo and when you start using Nationality as an excuse to deflect from the incredibly obvious fact that Church was better then you are just wasting my time now. Focus on the quality of the performers not me and my nationality etc..

  • Comment removed

  • @tunanorth Your perpetual rants have become increasingly boring and frightfully irritating; I think it's best you find yourself another truth to dispute. Cheers then!

  • @EarlRegent

Your perpetual denial of the facts, and total lack of familiarity with mathematics is extremely boring.

You have proven to be thoroughly unfamiliar with anything to do with numbers, written communication, or reading comprehension..

I think its best if you find another forum to espouse your irritating and downright alarming attachment to CC; the many excellent YT videos she has posted might be an especially good place for your comments from now on.

  • @tunanorth Lol! If you need to recycle my own observations(even burrowing whole phrases) then I think your problem is with the English language, let alone numbers and classical music criticism. Go away.

  • @tunanorth I have wasted hours of my valuable time trying to instil some knowledge into you when I should have realized that arguing with a simpleton is a fruitless exercise,

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @EarlRegent Go to a Charlotte Church website if you like her so much. Everyone here is sick and tired of listening to your irrational ranting.

  • @HotRodder2100 Perhaps it has not sunk in yet that I am not one to be bullied. Secondly, you suggesting I go to a CC channel is an illogical suggestion since my bone of contention is here and I am not a fan of Charlotte Church.

  • Comment removed

  • @EarlRegent Perhaps it has has not sunk in yet, but this is a site for those who ENJOY listening to Jackie sing. If you don't like it, then why are you still here?

  • @EarlRegent Adios. That is your opinion, and unsupported by the vast majority.

  • @EarlRegent We can only hope that she is not another Charlotte Church with her drinking, smoking, and illegitimate children. She self-destructed. Hopefully, Jackie has better parenting and a true love for the music that will not go away or be traded for a soccer player.

  • @HotRodder2100 there are some, strangely enough, who get off on people firing at them. they scan youtube for the most innocent videos, leave nasty comments and sit back and gratify themselves while reading people's angry responses. just try your best to not indulge them. you would do well ignoring them altogether.

  • @regino523 Thanks. I do try my best to ignore the ones who are just trolling, and respond to those who are uninformed and uneducated, to help them learn. It is amazing how many people out there simply want attention, are jealous, or have some other motive for their pessimistic, derogatory comments.

  • @AAaaronandersonMUSIC Charlotte Church is way older then Jackie and now Charlotte sings pop music and she smoked and all that stuff. Charlotte was good but I prefer Jackie.

  • Jackie is amazing!
