  • Robert Baratheon vs Rhaegar Targaryen

  • Where did you get the maul, I don;t see that many two-handers out there, usually see one handed?

  • Is this real plate armor? Was it really that light and maneuverable or is this stuff made out of aluminum and especially light?

  • @Brandonkerrfl Real plate armor is usually heavy, but the guys who are supposed to wear it are trained to handle that weight, and thus, can fight with the same agility and maneuverability as any fellow not wearing plate armor.

Just don't expect them to swim.

  • there are many spells dont just use meel

  • 0:51 I love how you hit each other with swords and hammers yet mime the slap lol.

  • phhh a iron pike can cut right in to plate armour

  • Someone with a sword can defeat someone in full armor, it just requires half-swording and mordhau

  • So is it possible to kill someone in plate armor with a sword, or do you need to find a way around it? (looks like it would be hell to try to stab through...)

  • @MultiFireballz pfuuu hard question, not generally, of course there is some type of a sword against some type of an armor where will be possible if you are lucky, but generally you have to find some way around it.

This is not historical reconstruction, this is pure stage combat, the real fight has quite different techniques, like wrestling (sorry for my english, hope I wrote it comprehensibly)

  • @MultiFireballz

Yes, your goal was to try and stab/cut the joints. If they had mail underneath then most likely stab. The armpits, neck, and legs were generally the ones you wanted to go for.

  • @MultiFireballz I think a giant hammer or a maul would be fine to bash through someones armour, the type of hammer a bit like the one in the video :P

The shots are obviously pulled here (staged combat), but a maul or hammer like that to the head or even the chest would do some serious damage if not kill you.

  • @MultiFireballz There were specific techniques used for armored sword combat. Even for plate there were ways to do it; combatants would often half-sword (one hand holding the blade) so that they could slip the point between joints more accurately. Then there's stabbing with a dagger through the visor.

  • @MultiFireballz

In case you still wanted to know. Plate Armour was designed to protect the wearer from a sword. If you want the best weapon to kill a man in plate armour you will need a weapon designed to defeat such Armour, a sword of any kind is not such a weapon.

  • @MultiFireballz : There are various techniques that deal with how to kill a man in full plate using a sword. One way is to turn the sword around, grabbing the blade and hitting the enemy on the head with the guard, using it similar to a hammer. Others involve using a "half-sword", where you use one hand to grab half way down the blade, and use this style to put more accurate and harder thrusts into the weak spots of the armor (armpits, inner thigh, etc..). Hope that helped.

  • lol check that hammer out hahaha

  • I hope you know that they don't fighting this type of hammer in medieval. This hammer is not a weapon but tool.

  • Shows that you'd die rather quickly with a big hammer. Heavy things. :3

  • I enjoyed it man, a nice variety of attacks. A lil faster & that would be very entertaining. Good to see a big maul being used for a change too lol

  • @kurtisdeakin thx

  • why not try your hand at choreographing a more realistic fight? this one is obviously just for fun for people who don't know anything about medieval combat to enjoy but how about something for those of us with more knowledge? :)

  • @Isseinoyuu hey good point, so next time I will try to do something for those with more knowledge ;-)

  • whew if i saw that hammer comin in hot straight to my face i woulda booked

  • nice work guys

  • Wow can that music make even this look epic? Because it looks epic as hell!

  • Damn this is lame

  • try making it faster :)

  • hmm, I hope this isn't supposed to be realistic

  • @zilbiol no :)

  • in reality that scimitar would have been totally ineffective against plate armour. Only a sharp-pointed longsword would be effective when half-swording and using the point to stab the enemy to death thru the armor's openings.

  • @ksym of course, but this is for show, not to show realistic fight

  • @elfounek well i know what im going to do at the weekend

  • not realistic but nice to look stare at the moving armour.

  • 0:10 Ret uses repentance. way too early in the fight for something like this

    0:38 Ret uses Zealotry.

0:43 the protadin used HoJ. Pretty smart.

0:52 Prot goes for a heal and ret rebukes him. Nice move.

0:55 ret uses HoJ. Too late in the fight for something like this.

    0:57 prot trinkets!

1:04 prot uses Inq. Looks like he's getting serious!

1:14 prot with a 3 pt shield of the righteous

1:23 ret goes for a heal, but gets rebuked by prot!

  • @12Hxc hahahahahaahahaha

  • This was really awesome. Of course I used my imagination. If you had more camera views and edited a full fight it would work!

  • Now this is true European martial arts, not like the fencing they teach now a days.

  • this looks so fun i wanna do this stuff bit i need some cash like 10k

  • why don't we have more videos like these?

  • fake they not trying

  • Very nice selling!

  • did anyone yell

    Mortal Combat!!

    at there screen

  • amazing where did you get the armour

  • they're trying to cut steel xD

  • Wow. If just two sets of armor make that much rattling noise then I can only imagine an entire battlefield full of them .

  • wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • Acknowledging I know nothing about medieval combat, if it's 1 on 1, the sword user should just stay within the hammer's range - backing up repeatedly, out of sword range into hammer range is a bit odd.

  • @darknessesbane Well, sledges like that were never used for actual combat, so...

  • Looks gay.

  • love the clanking of the metal plates

  • I hope no1 experiences war, sheer smell of it changes a man. Have u ever smelled sulfur mixed with human feces, busted leaking sewage and burning bodies. And whats worst from the smell is the sight, mutilated bodies, dead rotting animals and destroyed villages and cities, and suffering of thousands of refugees. When u loose a close friend 10 meters from u, with a bullet in his head u never recover from that. "Thy shall not kill". Great video guys sorry for my mumbling, i just had to say this.

  • The fact, that both sides used full contact, made this just THRILLING! To that, just add the will to kill and you've got a knight!

Oh, and by the way, IdleBigots, let's take an example: Go and tell a speznaz soldier he's pampered and you'll get the damn pampers up your ass, but generally a good point.

  • nice coroiograph i think i can take you both.

  • This type of combat was a measure of your personal strength against one other's relying mainly on yourself and your own movements.. Aiming a gun or shooting an unsuspecting enemy from yards and yards away seems much easier than what a typical soldier or knight had to do back then. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying our soldiers have it easy or taking someone out from miles away with a Barrett is a walk in the park.

  • 2 people,lots of beer,2 sets of plate armour,couple of big sticks=FUN

  • Never go into battle with hammers

Always go for the sword and shield XD

BTW awsome training and I love that armor the one using the shield wears

  • 1:09 to 1:23 COOL!!

  • lolz sucky fight

  • wohh what lvl ru guys?

  • @butthead6886 lol runescape

  • @butthead6886 i loled

  • its bloody good, some more kinetic'ness in there would top it off...would obviously make it more dangerous, but just a touch more speed and push etc and id say 10/10

  • The guy with the 2 handed mace got pwnd!

  • if only my shield would hold up to a 20lb war hammer

  • @forresthop this "maul" (war hammer is really different weapon) dont have 20lb. This weapon weighs approximately 4-5 kg and that is 11lb ;)

  • Dude, seriously, 20lb? Who the heck would wield such a weapon?

  • @MoaiMaea Nope :) That weapon have about 4-5 kg and that is about 11lb

  • DUH, you don’t say. I was replying to forresthop’s nonsensical comment.

  • @MoaiMaea John Henry

  • What?

  • @MoaiMaea John Henry would wield a 20lb hammer.

  • Yeah, I figured as much but who is John Henry? That folklore dude? There is no article on him in the German Wikipedia and I only found out about him when I looked him up in the English one. Seeing as I’m not living in the States, should I know him?

  • @MoaiMaea I don't' know, should you know him? I am no American either but I heard of him.

I figure if I know who Sigurd is, you might know who the mighty John Henry is. John Henry is not a just a "folklore dude"...he's a good depiction of the American working class in the late 1800s.

  • Well, that’s the thing. Sigurd is way more noted and his legend is much older than John Henry’s (which might be why he is better known, seen globally).

Also, you’re living in North America so for me that counts as well because my point was that if you live in the area where the legend origins you are more likely to have heard of it. And since Canada is next to the USA ...

In Europe you’re not bound to have heard of him since we might have “our own” stories about working class people.

    Part 1

  • As opposed to medieval legends like the one with Sigurd. Obviously North America has none of those (apart from Native American ones perhaps) because they only existed as a nation since the 18th century. As a result, this (European) kind of folklore is known there, too.

    tl;dr

    Part 2

  • @MoaiMaea Take it easy, no one is saying you are stupid or something...you think I haven't considered all your points? Of course the average Canadian would know more about US than the average German...and Sigurd is an older myth...and you are not bound to know about John Henry.

But you still should have known about him, especially after I said it the first time in my previous post...anyways, yea...pls don't send me some 2-part response.

  • Why not :3 ?

And as I said, when I looked him up in the German Wikipedia after your first post I didn’t find anything (which usually means that the topic one researched isn’t that important). After seeing that you’re from Canada (which I noticed after your second post mentioning John Henry) I tried the English one and voilà, there I found him.

But anyways, thanks for introducing me to his story. Now that I read about him your comment seems witty since the legend includes a 20lb hammer :>

  • MAKE IT HIGHER DEF! Faster! :D

  • that was so awesome!!!

    also, what syke1337 said!

  • 0:50 lol instant recover!

  • This was great ! ~.^

  • Gay. That hammer would've fucked that guy up.

  • I like it ))) Nice show)))

  • 7-hit combo then finish him!

  • who need rpg games when you could do this!!!

  • Juding by the backround the guy who got his ass kicked was either the other guy's instructor seeing how well he can fight aggainst a huge warhammer or some newbie lol.

  • iwonder how they pee

  • dude , that looks mad fun

  • Historically there was a special key. No kidding.

  • Could you even imagine being back in that time when they wore such heavy armor? I wonder if you could even hear anything through all that metal clanging around.

  • @IdleBigots heavy armour? is 25-30kg heavy? it's actually half of what modern soldiers wear on them in battle.

  • And modern soldiers have the luxury of not being in hand-to-hand combat 90% of the time. They can afford the lack of mobility.

Modern soldiers are soft compared to the real soldiers from 6-700 years ago.

  • @IdleBigots You know what, you're absolutely right. Because it's not like it takes a real man to fight insurgents and suicide bombers who look exactly like normal civilians, or travel around Iraq or Afghanistan knowing that at any moment an IED can obliterate the Humvee you and your comrades are riding in... idiot.

  • @Bf2009

Hitting somebody from 100 yards away with a missile sure is manly compared to standing toe-to-toe with nothing but a poorly made sword and a sheet of iron covering you, and for no reason than your liege told you to. Better yet, just go without the Humvee and on foot over 50 miles and expect to fight the next day, without the satellite communications, near-instantaneous transport, highly trained medical staff on call, and near inexhaustible supply lines, and then we'll see who is manly.

  • @IdleBigots I don't see you clearing Afghanistan pal. There are men and wemon over seas risking their lives every day for $65 a month and some benifits. Easy to call them names and bad mouth them when you sit in your warm safe home protected by first class law enforcement. Whether you get mutilated by a sword or a bullet, it's just as bad. Technology has changed, but the horrors of war have not. The people fighting today are just as brave as those who fought a long time ago.

  • @Bf2009

Everybody knows the 'horrors of war' are realistic; don't patronize. The army doesn't need a pity party.

I don't 'clear' Afghan or any army organization because of the fact that I'm gay, so don't tote that banner about safe homes and perfect lives. War is a waste, and any organization or government, civil or terrorist, that preys on it and uses it to it's advantage is a waste. The causalities and waste of life is a waste. And, in most cases, the cause is the greatest waste of all.

  • @IdleBigots I like what you're saying but I don't see how it relates to the topic at hand. If you acknowledge the horrors of war then you shouldn't be saying how soldiers way back when were sooo much more manly than today's. But it appears to me that you've never been anywhere near an actual battlefield, so...

  • @Bf2009

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that war is hell is an idiot, plain and simple. But, that doesn't refrain me from making my opinion that soldiers today are pampered when compared to those even 50 or 60 years ago.

And I make those other points to point out that what you're pointing out is..pointless. I'm not living in the lap of luxury with no worries. And no, I intend not to go anywhere near war, because war corrupts an already corrupt world, and I see plenty of corruption back here.

  • @IdleBigots So let me get this straight; having better technology at hand to help you survive and kill an enemy more efficiently, or in your words, being "pampered", makes you less of a man? Whatever you say man.

  • i love warhammers :D

  • whats he doing at the end ? they should be congratulating each other then negociate amount of ransom

  • He's teabagging him. What else?

  • Slow ass hell...

  • Slow and sloppy.

The whole combat is forced and doesnt even remotely flow.

  • Give them the benefit of the doubt. As said in the description, this is just practice; the choreography itself isn't too bad, and could be quite good to watch once the fighters have practiced more.

  • i love knights!!!

  • realy awesome

  • far from professional (stunt or combat) but it kept me entertained....kudos

  • terrific! very good!

I would give guy with hammer a wicked looking poleaxe tho, for what its worth.

but, you guys are the experts.

  • lol, very nice. make's me wish i lived around those time's.

  • Kwl!!!!!

  • lol at 50sec hes like "Wait...im not dead!"

  • lol that was cool

  • lol i thought tge hammer was a broom

  • That overhead attack from the hammer would have shattered the other knight's forearm.

  • only if he took the force full on, he deflected it, well thats what i think anyways

  • can anyone tell me a recommend full plated armour from 2,000-5,000 dollars? im planning on white knight or sentinel but are there any other good ones???

  • You have to make the armor fit you; I have an armorer that you can talk to. You can by plate armor then get him to modify it to fit you better. But he can make one that will fit you 100%! But it may cost a bit more.

I had buy mains part by part, so far all in all it cost me about $1,525.00 with modifying... (it still needs a bit more work to it) I need very little to have 100% of full armor...

  • That looks like it was a lot of fun! Some of the spots like the aforementioned "nap" remind me of pro wrestling.

  • I find this video hilarious, in no disrespectful way whatsoever. It's fun to watch but also funny with the music added to it.

  • This fight isn't supposed to be one solid fight. I think they just created scenarios to face and various ways to respond. Atleast thats what I thought when the guy took a nap... I think was a very good fight scene, keep it up and make some more fights!

  • Thanks,

I created lots of fight scenes, but I dont have it on videos :(

And this fight IS supposed to be one solid fight

About "nap", in final version there is fall on back after hit, in this version, I was lazy to make that fall and thats why I took a nap :)

  • what sort of hammer is that it looks kinda big to be a war-hammer? You have some real talent if I may suggest a good halberd, and if it helps you should remember you have the reach on your opponent and use that to your advantage.

  • yes its not a good as in real fight there not like me reonator so give them a brake hay

  • It would be cool if you guys could implement that into a movie. The right camera angles and correct editing could make that fight look 300% more badass than it already is!

  • yes, that would be cool ...

  • it doesn't look real enough tho, it needs more fluidity. actors that use swords train for ages to get it right

  • thats how Herewood the wake was killed too head smashed by a sheeld

  • verry good.I like it.

  • In real fight that guy with the warhammer would have smashed that shield with his first hit which is coming from the high.

  • well, tell me please, diference between hit in real fight and hit in this mov, because strenght of hits is the same, so why you think that?

  • really? I am pretty sure a hammer that big can hit harder than that. This is a staged fight.

  • Too much video games, dude.

  • realy nice, I like it

  • Man, that was a pretty sick finishing combo by the dude with the sword. A+

  • this looks horribly coriographed and i doubt anyone would use a warhammer that size or shape

  • Then you don't know a thing of military uses in middle ages. Go read books before slipping supositions out of your mouth too fast.

  • that right i dont, but i do know when people cant do proper choregraphy

  • the best way to kill someone in heavy armor is either the neck, armpits, or hit them with an axe/blunt weapon, that way, not only do they still have to fight you, but they have to deal with their armor tearing their flech apart evertime they move

    5/5!!

  • Is not that easy.

They have to deal with their armor tearing their flech apart evertime they move?

One, they have an arming jakit underneath that, a arming jakit is a type of soft armor and a padding. There or my armor would not tear anything apart...

Two, the armor would not get jagged...

Tree, there are neck armors out there, one type is called a Bover.

  • if the steel is torn and bent inward I would think it would be a pain in the side

  • oh! I forgot about the padding

  • sic armor where do go to learn stuff like this

  • They still would use shields sometimes, nothing beats it in a line.

Since such hammer didn't exist (there were sledges in some regions, but as a common battlefield weapon is was rapidly discarded) anything about realism doesn't really apply.

  • but, in the 15th century, when they used to wear that full plate armours they didn't used shield, they dind't need it, it was unuseful, what's the song's name?

  • lol it'd be funny if a rogue came up outta nowhere and stunlocked the prot warrior.

  • this sequence makes no sense. Sorry, but you DONT block a hammer with a shield straight on (bye, bye arm) when it's so much simple to just step forward. And what is the point of slashing the breast plate?

I'm just an envious bloke who wishes he had a place like that to do the same. jeje

  • who were those guys in the background? they had a nice fight too

  • ech ? what background? You mean the same guys in mirror ? :-D

  • in real life the blow at 0:31 should have broken his arm.

  • in real life my arm is fine, thx for asking :)

  • So the blow was full force?!

  • in this mov no (its about 80% of "full force"),

anyway when we make exhibiton, sometime this blow is "full force". So why my arm is not broken ?

    Answer is:

    1) 3 layers of protection: shield > plate arm > soft protection

    2) good stance (when I catch energy of blow not with just my arm, but with my body)

  • When faceing a weapon so heavy with a shield, you dont take the full force you angle and twist the shield to direct the blow, and take stress off the arm. Yes a direct blow COULD break an arm, but chances be with a skilled shieldsman youd leave with an arm...battered but otherwise intact and perfectly functional.

Not to mention, there is givew to the arm, cushening the blow to a slowed stop and parying it, not just a brick wall stop. Thats the difference. youre entirely correct for a blunt stop

  • Shield was becoming less and less popular as armor progressed, it was effective and popular, but longer swords were used just as wideky. And in reality, a spear was a prime weapon.

  • Shield & Sword wins in reality. That is why it was kept for so long.

The armoured knight with shield & sword ruled the battlefield up until the introduction of firearms. The musket spelled the end for the armoured knight.

  • Hammer much more effecive vs plate. While u're breaking his the bones he is unable to cut u because of the plate

  • fun fight, unrealistic, but still very entertaining.

about some comments about the "maul" a weapon like that is terrible inneffective because of how heavy it is and how easy it is to deflect. i swing a sledge hammer with a 12 pound head around, its shorter and lighter than that weapon, but still unfathomably unweildly, and would tire the user out very quickly. you would be dead after one swing.

i dont know about that maul, but a steel head sledgehammer is impossible to block. cont...

  • also, there is the fact that the head will slip on armor very easy, so you can deflect it without even trying.

a few other things, bt a 2 pound mace or warhammer would have no problem chewing through armour, if youre worrying about realism.

all things considered though, this is for entertainment, not historical reenactment. it does its job very well be being very entertaining.

    good job

  • good show keep it up and i know its hard but try and make the swings look a bit more powerfull

  • fucking awesome you fucking rule!!!!!!!

  • at the end: tear out his heart and eat it!

  • i want armour! :(

  • I thought it was good for an unfinished piece of theatrical fighting. I fight in full 15th c. plate as well and I can appreciate the stamina these guys show. You cant judge this video on historcal technique if it was designed to be purely for theatrical purposes.

  • :50 that is gay haha

  • That, Was funny.

  • I CAME

  • lol nice
