  • As I listen, I can close my eyes and in my imagination fly through the Highlands of Scotland past the show covered peaks... Where Gordon Duncan is still playing...

  • Gordon Duncan was a living treasure, one of the single most phenomenal pipers who ever lived. R.I.P.

  • Would like to see a constructive comment from the one poor soul out of 78 that dislikes this video display of unfiltered human talent at it's peek!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • Only 1 word to describe that performance,Brilliant and he makes it look so easy shame he died before i started on the pipes would have been an inspiration RIP Gordon a truly great man and King of the pipes

  • same situation for me.

but it kind of seems more inspiring, not meaning it in any bad way whatsoever.

  • does anybody knows the name of the first tune???

  • I think its his take on Farewell to Ireland

  • I have been playing and listening to bagpipes for as long as I have memories and have never head anything quite as good as this. It is wonderful.

  • What a lovely guy! Gordon came down to London a few years back to give a recital for the SPSL. Wish I'd had a digital video camera then. I was later priviledged in taking Gordon to his hotel. What a great loss, now he's gone.

  • wonderful

  • RIP Gordan. he inspired me to play and now I'm grade 3. how did he die anyway?

  • the first reel is called farewell to ireland. it goes by afew other names but thats the one i hear the most.

    r.i.p gordon

  • That was amazing, simply awesome. His own reel was just top drawer.

  • Thank for posting this video... couldn't pay a better tribute to the man.

  • Superb m8, thanks again.

  • Thanks for your replies. I'm glad you like them.

  • Thanks so much for posting these. I've grown up listening to Gordon, but never had the chance to see him live. This is absolutely wonderful. Thanks!

  • aww no pressed for time T.T

  • Don't think it was written back then. To the poster - thanks very much. Don't think youngsters nowadays appreciate what Gordon did with and to highland piping - the Beatles is probably the most apt comparison.

  • Thanks to the supplier of these video performances of a most amazing piper. Gordon Duncan is in a class by himself as a player and composer. His fingers are clear enough in this video to see that they are moving fast enough to create their own blurr!

  • Wow!
