how many poomsae's on 3rd dan??

If you,re talking about how many you need to do to get to 3rd dan, there's quite a few. But for the 3rd dan exam, there's only 1. Taebaek (which is also the one I need to learn to be able to get my 3rd dan! :D)

It's not so much hard as just to remember each move. Once that's down, it's really quite easy. Pyongwon is quite harder, though

En tae kwon do solo existe hasta 9dan, porque el 10 dan esta considerado como la perfeccion y como bien lo sabemos nunca seremos perfectos, asi que solo se llega a noveno dan que es lo mas cerca a la perfeccion

There are only 17 poomsae, this is the last one. But there are 24 Hyongs, one for each hour.

There are 9 black belt forms. Illyo is the final one, upon completing it you attain 9th degree. To reach 10th, you need approval from the Kukkiwon Promotion Council in South Korea. There is no true form for 10th degree.

i thought there were only 9 degrees of black belt. it looks realy hard, because my teacher is sang lee, and he was the first olympic taekwondo coach, and he only has an 8th degree black belt.

I'll believe that. To my knowledge, there are currently no 10th degree black belts alive right now. My master is also an 8th, soon to be 9th. Hopefully one day both of our masters will hit the 10th dan mark :)

@dciguy01 i thought only the "boss" of the WTF can have the 10th dan

@Goromir01, that's the first time I've heard that one. The rank of 10th Dan has only ever been awarded to a WTF Tae Kwon Do master 8 times; 6 of those times have been to deceased individuals. It is truly a rare occurrence to be awarded that rank.

I think that there are 24 poomases - each one for 1 hour in day. This one is really awsome!
