Liberace was his happiest playing in front of an audience...his family!!! Outside of that, he was a lonely man and rather quiet. God rest your soul Mr. Showmanship!!! One one will ever live up to this!!!!
Indeed! Liberace and Virgil Fox were two of a kind, there's absolutely nobody else like them! I would have loved to have seen both of them live! A duet concert by Virgil Fox and Liberace... Now that would have been awesome! They're both greatly missed!
Fantastic! Saw Liberace many times in person. Not only was he a fabulous entertainer, but a kind and humble person as well. He was also very generous with his time and spent endless hours signing autographs or taking photos with fans. He just loved people!
I didn't know him, but I got to see him perform at Musicarnival in Cleveland. I believe there is still a Liberace Foundation that provides scholarships for young people to study music. He really was amazing and probably a far better pianist than people give him credit for.
Liberace gave so much pleasure and enjoyment to so many millions of people. My wife and I saw him in Melbourn in 1985. He loved what he was doing - it wasnt work , but just sheer entertainment. He always had a smile and a twinkle inhie eye when he playing - something he enjoyed doing. Yet in his private life I think there was one very lonely man. A great entertainer taken tragiccaly far to soon
And we can't forget in the 1950's it was taboo to be gay. Look at all the Movie Stars both gay and lesbian who hid deep in the closet. I saw him in concert 1985 and was magnificent. Remember he didn't choose to be gay he was born that way, as is every gay person. Who would choose that lifestyle?
you are wrong pompom he did choose to be gay, everyone has freewill to do as they please. a few people regard the reason that men being gay is due to the small hypothalamus gland being the same size as a woman's where the straight male has a much larger one.
yeah he was gay no shit but at least he wasnt jared leto at the tony awards gay!!! , and he could play!!! what a fuc&#n showmen whos out there now ???? cris angel???? com on vegas is death row for a musician now
I've been studying piano for the last seventeen years of my life, and I can say with complete certainty that Liberacy is the greatest racist pianist I've ever seen.
What always amazed me about this performer is that he could play the most difficult and fast pieces and still look directly at the audience or camera and smile.
he's obviously happiest when playing the piano...his bliss. my only claim to fame is that I can keyboard fast...I have a certificate for 80 w.p.m. and it sounds just like that! just kidding! thanks for posting.
Great music! Long live the memory of Liberace!! I never got to see him perform live in person -- I was supposed to see him in New York City in the summer of 1987, but he died that spring and they cancelled all his concerts. I did see him perform on "The Tonight Show" a couple times, but that was it. These videos are great, and they're a great tribute to the best entertainer that ever was!
Every time I watch this, I can't believe anyone can actually play this song as fast as Liberace does. I've played the piano for over 30 years and took Classical piano lessons for 12 years and could never come close to performing the way Liberace did. God Bless this man as he will never be replaced. He loved playing and entertaining and it clearly showed.
I always enjoyed his shows when I'd go to Vegas. Liberace was sincere in his appreciation for his audiences and he showed it in his performances.
