@AGUSIS02 BUT IF IT'S A HOMICIDE OR CLASS A FELONY THAT DETECTIVES NEED A CONFESSION YEAH IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM IF THERE MIRANDA RIGHTS WERE NOT READ TO THEM UPON THEE ARREST, BUT IT'S NOT A SUBJECT TO GET FIRED OVER.
one of the most brilliant and one of my favorite episodes. How did the show never win best drama & how did Jason Wiles (Bosco) never win (was he even nominated?) he is incredible cute and great actor luv the actor and the character. I miss this show so much.
Rights must be read exactly as they are inscribed. Even if you know them off by heart, it's always a good idea to read them from the card, that way there is no chance of being challenged on that in court.
If rights are not read correctly, or if you cannot recite them verbatim in court (assuming you did not read from the card) the entire case will be thrown out.
that makes sense, however, EVERYONE who is arrested, whether it be public drunkeness to murder suspects are read their rights. Its required by law. which means those rights should be so ingrained in his head that he should rattle them off like the pledge of allegiance. hmmmmmmm.
yes. but they are taught as a cadet in the academy that if they fuck up the rights while reading them to a suspect, their job is as good as gone. Those Miranda Rights are in those cops' heads from day 1. They shouldn't need a piece of paper. Bad Bosco.
this is my all time fav episode this one and the one where bosco is shot in the face

why did bosco have to read the rights off a piece of paper? shouldnt he know them by now with 6+ years on the job?
HeartofGold16 2 years ago
Cause in big chases like that its most likely detectives who arrest the suspect. So bosco probably wouldn't be able to remember the suspects rights.
