Beautiful aircraft and awesome to it fly but it sends shivers down my spine and makes my blood run cold when I think of the purpose they were built for.
excellent video, takes me back to finningly in the 70's with my Dad watching the scramble of three vulcan together...utterly mindblowing...then to see a similar flight from above while on a ridge on the isle of skye pre falklands...stunning piece of heritage...
I'm 17 now, but I was 15 during this flight, and I am so proud to say i was there to see its first return flight. I also have no shame in saying that the commentary that day brought tears to my eyesx

brilliant. I was 2 years old when the Vulcan was doing it's last round of flights before it was grounded. I slept through the display i was at...been obsessed with the Vulcan since i was 7 years old when i first saw it at a taxi run in Bruntingthorpe. This aircraft is barely from my generation yet when i saw it fly at Waddington i felt myself welling up. Still sends shivers down my spine...true British Icon!
Well done.. I was so lucky in the Royal Air Force to have a Vulcan flypast at my passing out parade, from that moment I was sold on her, big and beautiful nothing even comes close to its presence. A Roy Chadwick classic.
I saw the penultimate flight of the Vulcan, a moving display and a final low pass with the Bomb bay doors open and the words Farewell painted inside . a very poignant moment for many people there were smiles and tears . How absolutely marvellous to see this great lady of the skies flying again
What a fantastic video with emotive music. I am a member of the "Vulcan to the Sky" Club and went to Waddington on 6th July and also had tickets to RIAT. You can imagine my real disappointment at not seeing XH558 back in the air but this really made up for it. Thank you!
Thankyou so much for this video. My Dad worked on the Vulcans from 1958 til they went out of service. I cried watching this as it bought back so many memories of my childhood in Waddington watching those wonderful aeroplanes flying around. Thanks again.
I watched it fly on Saturday, it was worth getting soaked to the skin and then sunburnt to watch and listen to this beautiful plane fly again, I had shivers up and down my spine as she taxied out and when those engines rumbled into life I grinned so much I thought my face would split....fantastic plane, fantastic restoration job, lets hope she flies and is supported for as long as possible
a truely amazing aircraft. roy chadwick seemed to have great taste in aircraft lines. both beautiful aircraft. altho in my childhood the vulcan made me cry im truelly amazed and happy shes back. roll on RIAT!
No she didnt fly sunday was bit miffed but im just pleased shes back at waddo where she should be. She made it down the run way and still get a hell of appluse. Amazing how all the crowd rushed to the front to just see her taxi....FANTASTIC
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for taking the time to do this video, i have been going to airshows all my life and went to Waddington on the sunday with massive excitement and expectation, i was absolutely gutted when it was announced that the Vulcan would not be flying due to electrical difficulties!! Seeing your video so wonderfully done and thinking what an amazing job has been done but that i didnt get to see it made me cry,but thankyou for letting me see how fantastic it looked!!
I went to Waddington on Sunday just to see her fly again and she went unservicable. Not sure if I've felt been more dissapointed. Now I'm faced with a 600 mile round trip to Fairford. More importantly, well done to the men and women who's determination made the old girl fly again, you've made us all rpoud.
i saw this display and it is fantastic to see vulcan again i hope the displays are more like the r.a.f. display they seemed to be holding back. i saw 558 in the 90's and it can display better maybe it's airframe or engines are being protected for future flights. but to see it again was great and now riat
I was not at the event but would have so loved to have been there. I am so thankful for people like yourself who are prepared to spend your time and skills in sharing things like this with the rest of us. It allows us to "pretend" that we were there and see what it was like.
Nicely shot and edited video. Was the music broadcast as part of the display or added by you? Either way, its understated nature (like that of the commentator) fits quite nicely with the Vulcan's graceful performance.
Thank you for your comments. There was music playing as part of the show which can be heard towards the end of the video but I added the other track myself which I think fits went well with the Vulcan's display.

Don't suppose anyone knows the name of the music that was playing at the display itself, rather than the one on this video?
Not that there's anything wrong with this one, I like em both :-)

Clannad - Theme from Harry's Game. It's the same music that the VDF used in the 90's.
