I hear what you're saying, but Christianity was brand new then. Islam has been around for centuries. But if you want to follow the analogy I think the coming centuries may see the West go into another 'dark age' while the East becomes elevated and hopefully Christian, rather than Muslim. I think God may have spent the last 2 millenia spreading the gospel in the West and now He's going to spread it throughout the East.
Islam is still a young vigorous religion while Christianity has fallen apart since the reformation, much like paganism fell into many extremist and decadent sects, away from the old faith of Rome. The only way Christianity could dominate would its reunification under the true banner of Christ, the Catholic or Orthodox churches.
which will happen, the problem is that Christianity will be too small to provide the population diversity needed for survival as a species. I also think that Islam has been left alone for so long, that when Islam 'modernizes', there will be nothing left of it, there is no new testament in the Koran.
Our only hope is that another powerful Abraham based religion is created to pull most of the rest of humanity out of secularism.
The real problem that this movie only suggests, is that humans will just be a bunch of inbreds, that WILL lead to our extinction.
LITERALLY.
Islam is dying as well, The Arab populations are lessening in number in both the Middle east and the west(in terms of children compared to what their parents had in the old country).
Only Christianity is surviving the demographic winter(real Christians like myself), which will lead to inbreeding between Christians.
Regarding the quote from 140 B.C., Rome's best times came after that quote was made. It went on really good for the next 300 years, and still basically hung around for another 200 or so. Too bad the Christians had to bring down Rome and establish the dark ages...
@videoguy604 The point is that rome didn't heed the same warnings and went itno decline also due to people living as selfish a life as they could, there is no evidence Christianity brought down the empire you are just throwing things out there to try and discredit the movie, i you hate the family and love selfishness i would prefer you just come out and say it rather than these pathetic and baseless attacks on my religion.
@videoguy604 Uh, how could the Christians bring down Rome if they were such a grand empire? It wouldn't have had anything to do with the fact that Roman nobility weren't siring any heirs to guard against the Christian cult. The ironic thing is, what you are describing is basically what Islam is doing to Europe and America, and you can't be bothered to give a shit. You're useless to the cause of liberty, and you deserve none of its rewards.

Christianity at the time off Rome is what Islam is to the West currently.
