You really no how to use that OPL3 chip, would be awesome to hear it on real hardware, any chance I can download this player and song and listen to it on my opl3 please?
@XenoSpyro hi most program for playing midi-files in dos and windows on a SB-16 did not sound very good.
2 of my friends made a program for Roland Denmark in dos (SMF-Player) where i made the soundblaster driver.
but i dont have the program any more, i ask one of my friend if he still have it, but he did not have either, but my other freind still have it, so i will try to get it, i dont know how long there will go before i will get it, maybe long.
Any chance you can help me on how to run midi songs to make it sound like the DOS version without me running a game. I've wanted to hear what it would sound like if Through the Fire and flames midi was used on Duke3d on an old win98
If I understand well, in OPL3 mode, I can't use 4-operator sounds like for example in FM-Kingtracker, but I can use 8 types of waveforms of OPL3, and 18 channels as groups of 2 channels. Am I right?
So, I have tried the editor and I think it is very interesting and I can make great sound effects and music. Only the manual is really too brief. For example, I would like to know the functions of all used keys on a keyboard. Also, I have watched your tutorials on YouTube, but for the present I don't understand all windows in the instrument editor, and where "instruments" and "synths" are exactly and how I connect them.
The sound is simply great. What a pity that there isn't many good soundtracks for OPL3 in games from the DOS era. Please can you send me also the editor? You can send it to the e-mail address:
This tracker is badass (and so are the songs)! I especially like the visual feedback, which seems to be everywhere lol. Fantastic selection of voices :)
Ok. actually it runs pretty good. but tomorrow or the day after, i will get an sound card with opl3 hardware chip then i will see, if a can get the program to run again from windows.

Is this pure FM, FM+samples, or all sampled?
If this is pure FM, this the best thing I've ever heard come out of one of the OPL chips.

@null1023 Thanks.
it is pure fm (opl3) sound.

@OBSysteme you could only edit 9 channels, but in Opl3 Mode you have 2 sounds in One Channel, therefore 18 sounds polyphonic.
