This is so irritating to watch. Furry is about identity, not sexuality. The sexuality that comes into it is incidental, and most fursuit owners don't have sex in their fursuits (not that there's anything wrong with that). But people who are misinformed like this see a group of furries and think they're making a sexual/fetish statement, when they AREN'T. They're just having fun dressed like animals. Kids can hear about furries, just don't talk about yiffing.

Add to that the high maintinence of owning a fursuit, and having a fan built-in just becomes another thing to worry about on an already long list of things to worry about.

Everything was going fine until someone just HAD to mention those three letters: C.S.I. Just to clarify: if someone were to actually have sex in a fursuit, they would most likely suffer from heat stroke, which is the #1 problem with fursuiting. Even if a fursuiter is in an air conditioned place, it can still reach 80 or 90 degrees inside the fursuit. And without hydration and breaks from suiting, someone could suffer from heat stroke very quickly. This goes for team mascot as well, just ask them

I love CSI but they kind of DID ruin the fandom =( seriously its NOT all about sex, sure go into someones hotel room and MAYBE they are having sex but good GOD you see that at any convention. one reporter went to a furrycon in disguise once and was "saddened" to find it was all just hanging out and hugging and acting goofy and having dances and such.

I am not a furry, but I am a fan of furries, i appreciate them. Majority of people don't understand them when it is simple. There are some good and some bad furries. Don't read stuff about them, just meet them, they are awesome people. Though it might be awkward for majority bc it is not in our daily life, but they are cool. Go furs !

It's the method humans use to justify manipulating other groups. It's the building block of bigger things, like racism. And alone, it produces some bad side effects, like exclusion-ism, and alienation. But mostly, it just surprises me that we've not challenged this fundamental part of other evils.

But with fursuits however, it's a different story. Unlike mascots who stay on the sidelines, fursuiters like to interact with the public and don't want a noisy fan to interfere with their performance. It also has to do with a persons budget. @Dogsneedpleasuretoo Fursuits can cost anywhere between $500-$10,000 depending on the complexity of the costume, materials being used, and who is making it. Add to that the high maintinence of owning a fursuit, and having a fan built-in just becomes another thing to worry about on an already long list of things to worry about.

Everything was going fine until someone just HAD to mention those three letters: C.S.I. Just to clarify: if someone were to actually have sex in a fursuit, they would most likely suffer from heat stroke, which is the #1 problem with fursuiting. Even if a fursuiter is in an air conditioned place, it can still reach 80 or 90 degrees inside the fursuit. And without hydration and breaks from suiting, someone could suffer from heat stroke very quickly. This goes for team mascot as well, just ask them
