  • This makes me miss two things.... My childhood because watching the twins win the world series was amazing.... And I miss Minnesota... I live in DC and hate it... I wish I could go back =(

  • "and we'll see you tomorrow night!!!"

  • I was there and more people should have made the trek out! It was totally worth the cold weather, who cares if there was supposed to be a blizzard. :-)

  • one of the best Center fielders EVER!!! my first favorite player ever. im 18 years old grew up going to the dome watching him when i was little, i was a huge fan. and when that guy hit him in the eye and ended his career i cried lol... Kirby was amazing and will always be remembered as an amazing guy, team leader and the Greatest Center Fielder in Twins history. R.I.P Kirby Puckett #34 forever!!

  • Puck will always go down as my favorite regardless of what the future holds. Simply put, my childhood idol. While I'm not suggesting that he was even half as good as Mickey Mantle, Kirby was to the Twin Cities in the 80's & 90's as Mantle was to New Yorkers in his era. He was the perfect guy for the Twin Cities when he burst onto the scene. His ability, personality, everything. Sure he had some issues off the field, but thanks Kirby for helping give this punk kid a great childhood!!

  • beautiful video

  • one of the BEST! When they remake field of dreams kirby should be one of the ball players

  • i just got a tattoo of the greatest baseball player of all time, kirby puckett

  • unlike many, Kirby was lucky enough to see his name into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Not that he did not deserve it. RIP Kirby, there will never be another like you

  • Such an amazung tribute that was held at the metrodome && i was so honored to be there .. he will foever be missed !

  • That man was something else wish i got to see him play morw

  • I know Kirby is smiling from heaven because of the building of Target Field. He would look so wonderful in center field. Kirby was the best!

  • Why did he have to go :(

  • Thanks, not being nowhere near MN, I didnt get to see this. Kirby was always and still is my favorite baseball player of all time, Im not sure he was the greatest but he was damn good though.

  • shame he died. R.I.P Kirby Puckett. "We will see you tomorrow night!"

  • kirby is proof there is some guys have class and don't sign with the yankees because they offer the most money. Thanks kirby for staying away from new york!

  • Just put it this way, I'm an Atlanta Braves fan. But, I surely c can say that without Kirby Puckett, The Minnesota Twins would never have beat the Braves in '91. I know. I was there. Puckett was amazing!

  • HEY I KNOW THIS IS A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT PLAYER n everything but WHY WE GETTIN UPSET AND SENSITIVE?!, people just statin their opinions and FACTS, during his last years and afer he was done playing HE DID make mistakes, and he DID gain mad weight and didnt take care of himself, THAS A FACT, which sadly lead to THIS!, that is not talkin shit about him , or disrespecting him, IS just sayin the TRUTH! , damn.. still that dont take away from his hero like superstar status that he was !. So chil

  • i miss u kirby:(

  • i remember i wanted to be at his tribute thing after he died but i live bout an hour and so south of the cities. they were sayin a blizzard was coming so i decided not to go.

  • I remember the blizzard. After the Puckett Tribute at the dome my brother and I drove back to Rochester, then drove to Canada. Total whiteout.

  • @budlite8 i was at his tribute, it was very nice. but very sad

  • He gained a ton of weight after he was done playing?????????? The guy was a class act, here in Texas he would come ou the Hotel and sign any and all autograph requests, even if 60 kids surrounded him he would sign anything and everthing they wanted, unlike fat Hrbek, who would comment rudely to folks, even elderly.

  • @DALLASDIALLEO I agree Kirby Puckett was a fan favorite and always an obliging autograph signer for the kids as well as the older baseball nuts. His agent Ron Shapiro tried to instill the fan friendliness in all of his clients (Cal Ripken was his biggest client) and its such a shame that his baseball carreer and life ended in such tragic ways.Kirby Puckett was a five tool player and a great guy and baseball needs more Kirby Pucketts in 2011.

  • Thanks for the positive comments and ratings!

  • so kirby made some mistakes...if you don't think he was a hero then why are you posting or even watchin this video? kirby was/still kinda is my hero. until high school, my number in every sport was 34, and i had a huge kirby poster in my room that stayed up way after he was done. now i show my twins colors with the number 34 an puckett stitced on the back. WIN TWINS! we will always love you kirby!

  • kirby pucket kinda lost it after he couldn't play baseball anymore (due to glaucoma when he was thirty five) he gained a ton of weight and did a lot of stupid stuff but before his baseball career ended he wasn't a bad person or anything so learn what you're talking about before you talk shit about someone

  • and he was acquitted of the stupid things that were alleged. I will agree he got depressed, lost his marriage, and so on. Its a shame, he could have played a few more years....he really could have helped when we started being successful in the early 2000's..or even as a coach. RIP Kirby

  • he did gain a ton of weight after he had to retire but he didn't do a "ton" of stupid stuff. I don't want to cause a "youtube feud" with you but I thought I should set you straight. That technicality aside, I agree with your comment.
