A place in NC that had the most amazing rice that I could never reproduce.
The place used the same ingredients you do, but added another dark sauce. (soy sauce for sure is one of the sauces, but another one that might have been teriyaki sauce *But it was thick in consistency)
I'm positive that the 2nd sauce is the key to the rice tasting so good (As every other Japanese hibachi grill restaurant i've been to uses the same ingredients you do, and doesn't come close to the 2-sauce taste.
