Actually read the book. The author continually mentions how the Christian Right is not all fascist, but a small minority are who also happen to be waco... i mean wacko militant gun nuts. The Christian Identity is a scary group aswell but I don't remember them being mentioned much in the book.

There's a lot more to fascism then what you are trying to point out just because some things correlate with fascism doesn't mean they're fascist. They mostly correlate with socialism, social capitalism. Fascism is more about ideology and power of "the state" through nationalism and militarism, this is what defines "fascism" not public education and health care.

You are right, my points were that fascism is based in socialism. its the idea that the state should manage every aspect of business, life and industry. Communists hate the fact that fascism is a form of socialism because of industry teaming up with government to form fascism. All left wing ideologies are government involvment in life, industry, business and education. True right wing ideologies are that of the individual living free of government involvement. Just having MORE government in one's life does not always mean left-leaning. Plus fascism was based on early 1900's progressive movements in American and Europe. I ask people to look into what Presidents Wilison and FDR funded in the way of Euginics, Wars, rounding up of americans, offices of disinformation ect. American Nationalism was started under the progressive president Teddy Roosevlet but Wilson moved it into over drive as did FDR. After the 40's it was in place and every President after that just kept moving it further along as part of the status quo.

It went a lot deeper than simple capitalism vs socialism, just like how even that issue is not just between those. You can have a fascist capitalist state. The term Communist was invented by Marx in his book, "The Communist Manifesto." Nazi was shorthand for "National Socialist Workers Party." Hitler and Mussolini were National Socialists. That means Hitler was a Socialist by his own definition.
