  • I think each version of the game has their ups and downs in terms of music. As for this song in particular, I prefer the original SNES, but there's never really a significant difference. Songs like Mr. Ordeal I think are much more perfected in the DS version.

  • @WannaTradePants Whoops, meant Mt. Ordeal...

  • ooooh i like the snare drums in this song.

  • IMO, the GBA music is inferior to its SNES equivalent across all of the rereleased games. But from what I've heard of the DS tracks, they're as good if not better. I never had that much nostalgia for FFIV - I didn't like that characters kept joining and leaving, and some of the deaths seemed too forced to be emotional. But the DS remake... as far as the presentation goes, dare I say it improves on the original considerably?

  • Wait... this isn't the music of the DS Version. Was the European game different from the American or what?

  • @TheMariotroid As far as I can tell, it's the OST version of the DS tracks. Some of the sound samples are better than they were ingame.

  • (This is for the music)

SNES=GBA=DS [No comparison] both of them are pretty good.

  • *sigh* home sweet home...:)

  • Baigan: Your Majesty, I am afraid Cecil can no longer be trusted. He clearly questions your authority.

King of Baron: It matters not, so long as I obtain the Crystal.

    (Moments later...)

Cecil: Your Majesty! Forgive me, but what are your intentions? WHY ARE YOU PLAYING THIS MUSIC IN THE CASTLE?!?! My men are confused and displeased!

King: How dare you challenge my taste of music! I hereby relieve you of your command of the Red Wings!

  • Reminds me of FF7 when you're climbing the "Golden Wire of Hope"

  • @ScottQB4 Okay Barret, that was a bad analogy, but I know how you feel.

  • @Idolores Really? You know that it's also the theme for Junon after Weapon attacks, right?

  • @ScottQB4 . . . . I was more quoting FFVII directly than anything.

  • @Idolores Great. I feel like an idiot now, and I actually started a 2nd playthrough of FFVII too. Even though it's been a while since i've been on it.

  • Reminds me of FF7 when you're climbing the "Golden Wire of Hope".

  • Was I the only one who got fooled on their first playthrough when Baigan joined my party?

    Cmon...I was like 5 :)

  • YEY!! NOBODY CLICK ON ''DISLIKE''!!!!

  • @120Madara1 urge to troll...rising...

  • This makes me remember going all around Baron Castle getting treasure and exploring every time I started a new game when I was little :D

  • Is there maybe a gaming society for old time gamers like me who remember this...

  • I always love this music when im in Baron Castle!

  • Goddamit Baigan

  • 0 people never..... hey wait a minute...

  • This song reminds me of the gunshot bang sound that the doors would make in Baron castle when you would pass through them in the original SNES version of the game. In fact, this track sounds pretty empty without that particular sound effect. :)

  • My favorite part? I'd have to say 0:00 -1:32 !!! My least favorite part was 1:33 cause thats when it ended !!! ^ O^

  • @FinalFantashy9001 WOW thats so original.

in fact, its so original that im going to thumbs up ur comment!

now u can win a million dollars and a sandwich!

  • besides Clad in Dark this is one of the most regal FF tracks I can think of.

actually it could be fun to learn the drum part to this :x

  • From 0:03 to 0:13 imagine Cecil running around with those drum beats.

  • I always put my DS close to my ear to hear that little jingle at 0:00 through 0:03 =P

  • The trumpets in the SNES version were stronger than these strings here, but the theme is still awesome

  • best castle theme!

  • I love the part from 0:12 - 0.28 ♥

  • This music sums up the feelings I had as Cecil when I first played this game on the SNES:

Guard: "Come on, let's go see the king!"

    Me: "Wha...what did I do?!

Guard 2: "Shut up, boy, and follow us!"

  • I wish everyone would stop bitching about which version had the best music. They're all good, now shut up and enjoy it for God's sake.

  • Mmm.. firmly seconded on that opinion.

  • @supermamaluigi I agree 100% with yeah there its anoying

  • @supermamaluigi Best comment ever said on YouTube... PERIOD! <3333

  • This song reminds me to this turtle-freak, this Lord of Water... *cry*... I hang there quite so long...

  • i c it was kept largely intact

  • They made it sound much... just much more 'castle' like, and like there's an army training in the castle, than how it was on the SNES, imo...

  • i like the drums here but the trumpet sounds kinda weird, awesome song

  • Ive played the game 3 1/2 times now and it the trumpets part sounds better on speakers.

  • i like the gba version better

  • The "trumpet" sounds worse than the SNES but the "Strings" N64 qaulity like ogre battle 64's "Strings"

  • Great theme!

  • OMG when I first bought this game on DS I heard this music. It brings back fond memories of running around Baron Castle exploring lol! I love this game! :D

  • do you have this video in HD? thx

  • This sounds so different from the real DS version.

  • TRUE 100% true!

  • That's right. Although most of them sound as good, I wish someone could upload the real DS version of all the songs :)

  • Just watch it in High Quality/Definition. The link's in the description.

  • No it's not the problem. The musics are from the official OST and they are not really the same as the ingame music.

  • =D Yay I love how they remade the musci! I also thought it wouldn't be as good as the SNES version but it came out better im so shocked but in the really good way!! ^^ XD

  • Wow.

You know I was worried this version was gonna be worse than the SNES version.

I'm very happy to say I'm happy to hear this, fantastic.

  • It's nice to hear the music actually improved in quality a bit over the original, as opposed to the tinny GBA butchering.

  • As my first ever Final Fantasy played, this game will always have a very special place in my heart.

  • SAME HERE! FFIV was the 1st Final Fantasy game I ever played also!!! OMG the game is sooo good

  • *sniff* that was beutiful!

  • @PlainOlJoe KYAAA!!! It's my first FF game too! HUhuhuhuhu! :D

  • @PlainOlJoe its the same with me *_*
