@DevinKeizer The base model is $400, but you will need a better charger, and a lipo battery is a good idea to increase your runtime. Since this is an electric model, there is no "engine", but if you put a heatsink on the motor or just monitor your temps carefully the motor will last a good while.

@loposki11 jato is more street, you can make it offroad but you have to keep checking it because it tends to have issues on dirt. Slash is made for off-road. The jato is two wheel drive but its FAST. So if you like street course and fast engines, then the jato. If you want off-road but still fast car, then Slash.

i have the regular traxxas slash and mine got drenched!! i accidentally drove it onti the pool, woops. i dove in and got it, wiped everything down and opened all of the electronics to find nothing damaged. but all of the metal components got rusted (wheel direction shafts, screws, etc.) and i want to replace them is it worth to replace everything or just buy a fluid that takes away rust?

hi everybody ! I bought a slash 4x4 1.5 yaers ago and it's been a great car for less than 6 months. but, in the time more and more parts brokes and it's not surprising because of the power and now my esc has crashed so I read the waranty card and OMG it's a 30 days Waranty thank you so much Traxxas!

I think this car's the best perform electric model in the world but warning : Traxxas is not Kyosho and so much power can't be reliable

now I run a kyosho dbx ve brushless, it's faster than slash 4

Have had mine for 1.5 years and I've gone through 3 motors and soon a radio system but I have two nihm battery's and it goes for about 45 mins before I go inside and altogether about 17 hours 16 for battery's and 1 for cleaning because for a while the servo didnt work but I let it sit for a little while more and right now it runs fine but im hoping to get two better battery's and some proline tires it's worth it if u like to take care of it not use it put it on a shelf charge it and use it agai

@thenotoriousdwg it depends on if u want to spend 35 dollars an hour on a gallon of nitro and you got to maintain the nitro engine after every run....you have more problems with nitro then electric but electric you have to wait for the battery to charge unless you get a quick charger

i just got mine 5 days ago its a ultimate, great truck until 1 of my buddies tried driving it and ran it into a 5inch curb at 30mph and broke the right front a-arm at the pin in the frame in about 5 seconds so now the front end is disassembled while i wait for new a-arms. but it was only running for 2 days before he did that. i couldn't believe it i had waited 1month for it to get here i had it for 2 days and then his retarded ass broke it in 5 seconds last time i let anybody else drive it

Great truck if you like it sitting on shelf. because the drive line fucking sucks. bearings fucking sucks, vxl motor fucking sucks. it,s gone through 4 sets of bearing. even upgraded bearings. only with use of 2S 30c. and i can,t work out why? only use stock gearing too.

if u want something for running into things i made my friend a grille guard for his slash i made it out of 1/4 inch solid steel i goes across the entire width of the slash and has a skidplate were the plastic one was and he hasnt broke a single axle since if u are close enough i will make u one and i havent decided on a price.

I've discovered that my son's new XL-5 Stampede has Lipos cut off. Guys in the store I bought Stampede from told me it do't have cut off, but manual say yes. They should know what tey selling, well the act like they know it all :-)

Regarding brushless motors, I got one here 2200kv. Fast but I don't like using it as much as brushed. I find the brushed motor feels somehow more responsive to throttle, strange I know. Maybe I need sensored, not really sure.
