Great video ! I do have a question though: The runway of St. Maarten airport is around 2200 meters total. How can these wide bodies (747, A340 and etc) can safely land and takeoff there? Or is it that because they never fly directly to/from St. Maarten to/from some far destination, they can manage it with 10-15% fuel capacity?

@burcmm many people dont realize but the KLM and Corsair 747's flights are shared with other islands in the south, touching down at St Marteen first then continuing to Curacao and Aruba in the south which have way longer runways, then back to europe. The Airfrance A340 can manage the runway as it does the flight direct to paris and back.

Wow!...bitchin' footage! The rain adds a whole different feel to this pristine tropical paradise. How long is St. Maarten's runway, and where is the main terminal? I've seen a lot of videos of said airport with a lot of wide body jets, but the airport almost looks like some podunk establishment not capable of handling these planes.

the runway is 2300m long and they've actually built a new terminal not to many years ago capable of handling the a340, 757, 747 ect.
