yeah, just an idea, but I always thought the guy who plays Michael Weston in Burn Notice would be great for Lan, and Hayden Christensen would be perfect for Rand, but otherwise, I somewhat agree with this list. And let's face it, if they ever make the movie, we will all HATE it, no matter what. haha

Boo to Nynave! She is a strong, smart woman character who doesn't have the best looks but makes up for it with attitude. Everyone else though would be fine. I especially like the choices for Moraine, Lan and Min.

IDK I always saw Michael Dorn as Lan personally (Worf from star trek TNG) his size stature and voice all seem to fit. and maybe Bruce Spence as Thom. Just a thought.

@mrbojangles487 sorry, i'm just passionate about this film being done as well as it can be. i think using mostly unknowns, or at least people we arent subjected to in every movie that's coming out in recent days, would be the perfect choices. people with real accents too. This world needs a diverse group to accurately portray it.

@GeFlous yha, Matt has to have a natural loose easy-going joker/gambler lol. Jake has a naturally worried expression, and while Matt is worried several times throughout this whole thing I think a niaeve jack sparrow type character would represent him best, though johnny just won't do. need his personality but matt like looks and "innocence" lol

I think the male side of this cast is pretty abysmal with the notable exception of Clive as Lan (but I prefer Gerard Butler). The fems are pretty spot on though. Evangeline has been my fav for Nynaeve for some time as well. I think a better Min can be found.

Vin Diesel would make a great Lan. Just saying his voice and physique fits perfect. Ewan Mcgregor as Rand. Dominic Monaghan as Mat. And i cant think of anyone for Perrin. But i believe they shouldnt look like actors only teen girls would go watch.

I never thought of Rachael Wiess for moirane. I like that. A few of my other cast members would be Eric Bana as Perrin, and Asthon Kutcher or Sean William Scott as Mat, him being the goofball. And i think Dwayne Johnson would fit well as Lan. Maybe try to throw Gerard Butler in there somewhere.

IF and when a film is ever made about this series you will have to choose from a new generation of actors that are unborn or adolescents as of now. The Lord of the Rings was several decades in the making before Peter Jackson ever got the green light.

How about Howard Stern as Thom and Gilbert Godfried as Paden Fain?

I like the concept. The ones I definitely agree with are Emmy Rossum (Egwene) and Rachel Weisz (Moiraine); however, Viggo would most definitely make a better Lan...and someone more on the 'stubborn' side would have to be Nynaeve, though you have the looks idea down....I'm thinking Kate Beckinsale. But yes, Rachel Weisz would be perfect for Moiraine! :)

Trying to be constructive, not rude, but I totally agree with ilovezunes, most of them are too old. Rand is difficult, Wes is too old and too short. Jake doesn't strike me as Mat, but not a bad choice. Chris is not Perrin. I don't think Evangeline works for Nyn, but maybe I have her typecast in my head. Kate is too girl-next-door for Elayne. I don't think Clive can pull off tough like Lan. Claire is almost 40, she'd have been great 20 years ago. Egwene and Moiraine = good. Text over faces = bad.

Overall though, casting this film ill be very difficult due to: 1. everyone envisions the characters a lil different, 2. the characters change from their innocent naiveness in the earlier books to much harder mature individuals in later books. (hard to find an actor/actress who can make that leap in both physical appearance and personality.)

Most likely, the majority of cast will be played by unknowns.

They are all cute, but I don't think they would fit. They're supposed to be younger and these guys are in their 20's. Nynaveve was good, and Moraine...but not really the rest. That's just my 2 cents.

I've been discussing this with folks on fanfiction! You made some really good suggestions, though Perrin's a hard one to come up with...

All of them seemed pretty good - I liked Egwene & Lan, though Rand, Mat & Perrin were a bit iffy.

Someone suggested that a younger Patrick Swayze in "Steel Dawn" would be a good Lan. After looking up the film, I agreed, though he probably won't fit the part now.
