hi!

i bought some old parts to build a little second pc with my old geforce 7600 gs 256 mb.

I use a am2 board and an amd dualcore 3800+ with 1 gig ram.

I overclocked the 7600 gs to 500mhz core and the graphicram to 510mhz.

I could get higher but i wont try it ;D

in my old pc its wasnt possible to get over 450mhz or something lower...

my gigabyte7600 gs 512 mb cards came clocked at 500 mhz, the memory at 400 mhz.  i have the clock at 575 mhz and the memory at 454 mhz on both cards. i installed 2 slot 1 fans on each card for ocing. i use evga precision, it is awesome and i have been able to get higher overclock speeds much easier with this program. i wonder what i can max them out at......

I overclocked mine and it fucking got fried. the problem with this card is that if you overclock it with no fan it overheats a lot more than one with a fan. I had mine at 490 Core and at 450 Memory clock and one day blue lines on my screen and then the pc crashed and it wouldnt even turn on after. So i just took it out and now im using my motherboards pc chipset, planning on buying a Sparkle GeForce GT 220 Video Card - 1024MB DDR3 =)

i have dual gigabyte SLI geforce 7600 gs with 512mb on each card. each cards 2d and 3d clock are set at 580 mhz, the ram is at 454 mhz. i mounted two old slot1 fans on each card because they were running at 195 degrees under heavy gaming (no over clock). now they run at 125 degrees overclocked and under heavy gaming. games i play are crysis warhead, sof3, call of duty 5, f.e.a.r and timeshift.

i updated my drivers yesterday and my nvidia control panel (i have a geforce 7600 GS too) is different from that one, and there's not any voice about overclocking it!

By clicking on "system information" i just can see "Principal clock: 401 Mhz", "Shader Clock 401 Mhz", "Memory clock: 270 Mhz (540 Mhz data frequence)" and other info, but i cannot modify this values... or there's still a way?

Lucky. When I use ntune it ruins my XP (screen goes corrupt on startup because fucking nTune thinks it's okay to change ALL hardware clocks by setting them at what they're already running at, which causes a crash with my mobo. What the fuck Nvidia?

I have a 7600 gs and I brought it to 585/886 (443 x2). The ram is being cooled well enough, the only reason why I can't take it farther is because it doesn't get enough power, as soon as I step past 443, the verification thing fails. However, ddr2 tops out at about 500 anyways.

Upping the gpu wont give that much of a boost, and since the ram is ddr2, it's already running at near max capacity, volt modding will just ruin the whole card.

You can volt mod a 7600GS with a pencil. If you screw it up, you can just erase the pencil and your back to stock. As long as you keep an eye on temperatures when volt modding, things will be fine. I have a 7600GT thats been running volt modded for nearly 2 years!

It so happens that a 7600 gt runs ddr3 ram, which is 10x better than ddr2. I have not ever, in my life, seen a video card with ddr2 ram clock higher than 475. I know I can mod my card, and I know I can ruin it just as easily. Anyways, I bought this card back in the day, so a gt cost a lot more than a gs, and you can see why.

Why only 6% of increase? When I had GeForce 7900GT I managed to push core from default 450MHz to 660MHz and performance increased by ~45% in most of games. But overclocking memory doesn't give much of use. Jumping form 1320MHz (eff) to 1900MHz (eff) only gave ~7% of performance boost.

i just clocked mine that reached 634mhz at 400mhz. but it got fried. just got lucky of 1 mnth replacement warranty. i would rather reccomend NOT to overclock your GPU, i have read on one forum that OCing your GPU lessens the quality of it, and yes, you have increase in graphics, but your 4 yrs card might just drop to a 1 year 1. and a 30% inc. would like, just tickle 2 FPS per second. but yes, it is still up to YOU. just a little info here

download ntune from nvidia or rivatuner. if you could increase ur cpu fan do it. if not dont overclock. or just buy a bigger fan/heatsink. i know i couldn't set my fan speed and in using a evga 7300gs.

i did the overclocking like this with my asus 7600 GS 512mb/ddr2 passive cooling;P...the good thing WAS i did get a big difference in fps in games....but now everythime i start windows after 3-4 seconds...i get a fuzzy image..i cant do anything..after 3 restarts it gets to normal..and in games form 10 to 10 seconds i get a big lag and so on....is my graphics card FRIED?:D.....i switched back to the factory settings but it still does the same thing
