@usmcgunner58 In the game SW Knights of the old republic, when you become a jedi you have to choose the color of your lightsaber.They say blue in for Jedi Guardians which are the warrior type green is for the Jedi consulars more like Yoda and yellow is more in the middle.If you look in the movies Yoda, Obi and his master are the consular type and all have the green one but Anakin who's clearly the guardian type as a blue one.Aldo in the game they also say they can have the color they want

lukes lightsaber is blue because originally there was only going to be red and blue lightsabers but when they filmed the movie the blue didnt match up with the sky on tatooine well so they made it green so u could differentiate which ones which. i have a movie poster on my wall that shows him having a blue one. then samuel l jackson wanted a purple cause its his favorite color so now u got all kinda of crazy ass colors, lucas basically just said fuck it after that

Usually there are some differences from the trailer footage for example when a new hope's (Star wars original) trailer came out obi's and vader's lightsabers were white. So then the lightsaber Luke made for himself was always green which is shown in books and older games etc.

Actually it was changed green because it didn't show up very well against the blue sky, so it was rendered green. GL's original idea for lightsabers was that there were only two colors. Blue for good, red for bad. Of course that changed with ROTJ.

He had to construct a new one between empire and return, which was green.

Because that was the original colour before post-production was completed. Then Lucas decided to make changes in early 83 - as he felt the Blue Lightsaber had been already been used for Luke/Anakin's and Obi-Wan's - and since the shots of Luke constructing his Lightsaber hadn't been excluded from the final film yet, the colour was changed.
