Agreed, and to me the key to this song really is "I made it just this way..." Its about each of us choosing every day to see the beauty. John was good at that.
in spite of every destructive, hurtful thing we've done, it sounds to me like, if the earth could sing a song, she might have sung this for us. imagine gaia doin' that and john, naturally, her emissary. 'and it pleases me to have you here for just a little while'. does anyone know just how alive our earth mother is? the nice thing about a song with meaningful lyrics is everyone gets to interpret it however it please them.
Hello marksoutof10. I think folk are fed up and do get upset that JD was a target of people who thought they could get a cheap 'laugh' at his expense! Although, I have'nt actually watched the Monty Python skit properly it does ring a bell! JD transcends on many levels and music is a very personal issue for a lot of people! This is no way an attack on you or anything, really! I have a good sense of humour too! xXx
Welcome to my morning, welcome to my day I'm the one responsible, I made it just this way To make myself some pictures, see what they might bring I think I made it perfectly, I wouldn't change a thing
Great song and great artist! What's there more to say? John Denver was the voice of the inner self of many millions of people. For me, simply the best and irreplaceable for sure.
jmldspt: "..the voice of the inner self of many millions..." that is beautifully said. This is one of my favorite JD albums. I particularly like "Lady's Chains." John Denver helped me find a musical and poetic identity. (Ever since 1972). Peace.
@jmldspt Hey, do you happen to know a name of a John Denver song. You seem like a big fan, I just cant remember the name of it. If I remember well hes naming greek gods through it, 'morphius thought me to rhyme' maybe a lyric from it, I just cant remember it
thank-you for posting this..we all need to remember a simpler time. We really do miss this guy a dose of john denver with or without a doobie is a good thing. to the previous commenter i too hope your momis sharing irish coffe with him..what a luck girl!
John Denver music always makes me want to light up a big fat doobie. Which is NOT a bad thing. We miss ya, John!!! I hope my Mom got to have Irish coffees with you in the afterlife..
I wonder if he changed his name to Denver or just a strange coincidence.

The version Denver sang in "An Evening With
John Denver" album is also excellent. I also
like the song following this one in the same
album "Berkley Woman."

Ever since I first heard this song, I imagined he was describing a wedding day!
lmtpf 3 years ago 3
Wouldn't have thought of that, that's great!

This is a reply to the person who said that it reminded them of a wedding, very cool, I wouldn't have thought of that.
