i was 15 and weighed 45kg at the time, to take the drug, you're meant to be over 18 so that your spinal cord is fully developed, unlike how mine was.

Ok, I have a really weird thing. My brother got tonsilitis then a couple days later, it looked like I was starting to get it. Thing is though, mine doesn't hurt, I don't even know it's there. It's been like this for about 1 or 2 months now. No like, white bits on it (as in, infected, puss and stuff) they just look swollen. Tonsilitis sucks. I had it once (lasted two weeks) and I don't think I've ever felt pain like that. My throat was nearly white, and toward the end, I would cough up pieces of it. Definitely NOT fun.

I have it right now too. My tonsils are pretty swollen (much more than yours), it's been difficult to swallow. I feel better than yesterday though, the pain & swelling has decreased. What's helping me is: Tylenol Severe Cold (it helps with the throat pain & inflammation), drinking lots of room temp water & warm tea, warm (not hot) chicken broth, gargling warm salt & lemon water, spoon fulls of honey, and Halls. All these things are helping so much.
I have tonsillitis that came along with mono and I cant get any sleep because it hurts so much. I cant eat or even swallow my own spit the doctor gave me antibiotics didnt work. So then gave me cortizone steriods still not working. The only thing that helps is 400mgs of motrin. WHEN DOES THIS GO AWAY!
this is my 6th day with tonsillitis, i think its safe to say it's been the most suffering week of my life. it's agonizing to eat or drink, i have to spit in a cup because of the pain to swallow. but luckily i just got some pain killers which helps me with eating and drinking alot. but it's refreshing to know i'm not alone. good luck to everyone suffering from it! stay healthy
This is my second day and its getting worse, the pain of swallowing (even nothing) is immensely excruciating that I cringe very hard. It is also painful when I am sitting here doing nothing. My voice has changed and it sounds weird. I'm on my fourth toilet roll from drooling and extremely painful phlegm spitting.

I finally had to go to the ENT center of Utah and demand that I get mine out. I should have had mine out 10 years ago, but they made me go by that stupid rule too. But because I am older and demanded it they let me. I am 5 days post-op and doing okay.
medicine doesn't help it at all, it's a virus, you cant cure it, if it was threw bacteria then medicine can cure it.
the best thing to do is get a tooth brush some hot water, put 3 tea spoons of salt in the hot water and put your tooth brush in the water and then salt on the toothbrush and dab it a few times on each tonsil , leave it for 30seconds don't swallow or nothing, after 30seconds get the salty warm water and gargle it..... eat soup and drink hot tea, this will numb it more.
omg i have it right now and it is super painful. it is very hard to swallow and eat. i would suggest trying the antibiotics before considering getting the tonsils removed. But it is soo painful i want them gone!

I have it too & my Tonsil's look a lot more inflamed & swollen than yours, I know this was in April, but, did you try gargling with warm salt water or diluted TCP? Amoxycillin is a life saver, I was put on it when I had my wisdom teeth removed & when I have a rotting tooth removed & they are brilliant. NTS: If taking pill's, don't take them on an empty stomach or you will throw up, & it won't be pretty!

dude i had the same thing but mine was sooooo bad that my uhhh punching bag thing grew to 2 inches long 2 inches wide, i were to breathe out of my mouth i would gag and choke, the actual suff in my throat was wite as well, and it went black, it actually burned holes in my tonsils, mine laster 3 weeks, even though i had the same drugs as you and everything. to this day i still have really gross scars on my tonsils

Do i have tonsilites? my right tonsil is huge and my left one it white. i dont feel ill but they itch so mutch i push my tounge up and have been sick alot

Ok, I have a really weird thing. My brother got tonsilitis then a couple days later, it looked like I was starting to get it. Thing is though, mine doesn't hurt, I don't even know it's there. It's been like this for about 1 or 2 months now. No like, white bits on it (as in, infected, puss and stuff) they just look swollen. Maybe they've always been like this but I've never noticied it until my brother got tonsilitus? I dunno.

@Chris265265 I have had the same thing going on. my tonsils have been a little swollen, i don't feel sick or nothing, just a nagging feeling of feeling something caught in my throat. this morning I woke up with the sides of my throat feeling sore and warm to the touch. don't know what's going on, might have to go to the docs :/

I think i have this right now.I started getting the sore throat on friday or Thursday night cant really remember.But Will Nyquil or Dayquil work? Also i took the day off from work today so i dont spread this.

Tonsilitis sucks. I had it once (lasted two weeks) and I don't think I've ever felt pain like that. My throat was nearly white, and toward the end, I would cough up pieces of it. Definitely NOT fun.

After reading all these comments,I'm pretty scared...well Ive had tonsilitis for bout 2 days nd it feels horrible to swallow!..I also got a bad fever nd headaches nd today I drank water with salt that my mom had made for me n I feel better...I just hope it doesn't go on for long /:

I have it right now too. My tonsils are pretty swollen (much more than yours), it's been difficult to swallow. I feel better than yesterday though, the pain & swelling has decreased. What's helping me is: Tylenol Severe Cold (it helps with the throat pain & inflammation), drinking lots of room temp water & warm tea, warm (not hot) chicken broth, gargling warm salt & lemon water, spoon fulls of honey, and Halls. All these things are helping so much.

I have tonsillitis that came along with mono and I cant get any sleep because it hurts so much. I cant eat or even swallow my own spit the doctor gave me antibiotics didnt work. So then gave me cortizone steriods still not working. The only thing that helps is 400mgs of motrin. WHEN DOES THIS GO AWAY!

this is my 6th day with tonsillitis, i think its safe to say it's been the most suffering week of my life. it's agonizing to eat or drink, i have to spit in a cup because of the pain to swallow. but luckily i just got some pain killers which helps me with eating and drinking alot. but it's refreshing to know i'm not alone. good luck to everyone suffering from it! stay healthy

This is my second day and its getting worse, the pain of swallowing (even nothing) is immensely excruciating that I cringe very hard. It is also painful when I am sitting here doing nothing. My voice has changed and it sounds weird. I'm on my fourth toilet roll from drooling and extremely painful phlegm spitting.
I'm going to get painkillers asap.
Please help me I don't know what to eat.

hello im in the same situation as u r... im 5days after surgery when my tonsils were out...its getting better and better every day...it was told..but i dont feel anything :( it hurt so much i cant swallow drink talk eat NOTHING :( all u can do is to eat mixed food..like mixed potatoes, soup, cocoa, yoghurt or mixed meat ( eew ) and drink camommila tea ,,, after two weeks those white things in your throat will fell down but be carefull it musnt be bleeding then u have a problem ...

yeah i think its the best to have them taken out, i just had mine out last week from tonsil stones......and the pain fuckin sucks but in the end i think its well worth it.

ive got it too it just suck dont it i cant eat or drink anything without intense pain plus i wake up after sleeping for about 2 hours at night in a massive pool of sweat and cant get to sleep again for 4 hours plus. doctor says 500mg penicillin tablet 4 times a day and i should be fine taken 4 so far and nothing has changed yet so i hope this medicine starts doing its thing or im gonna seriously cry =(

since september i've had tonsillitis seven times. i've got it at the moment pretty bad, i can't eat very much and even drinking hurts. but the doctors already said they wont be able to take them unless i've had tonsillitis reaccuring for atleast a year. which is just stupid seeing as i've already missed four weeks worth of school altogether because of it... FUCKIN' STOOOOPID D:

i get ear infections everytime i get tonsillitis, so that makes things worse than just having tosillitius alone. right now, i've lost my voice and because of the poor weather outside i've now got a cough and a blocked up nose! i think i'm going to be spending christmas snuggled up in bed!

I finally had to go to the ENT center of Utah and demand that I get mine out. I should have had mine out 10 years ago, but they made me go by that stupid rule too. But because I am older and demanded it they let me. I am 5 days post-op and doing okay.

i am on pen.VK 1 pill 4 times a day for 10 days for my tonsillitis. SO happy to say the infection is clearing up very well. :)

if it last longer then 4days go to the docter, if it has white spots on goto the docter, if you feel ear pain goto the docter.

medicine doesn't help it at all, it's a virus, you cant cure it, if it was threw bacteria then medicine can cure it.
the best thing to do is get a tooth brush some hot water, put 3 tea spoons of salt in the hot water and put your tooth brush in the water and then salt on the toothbrush and dab it a few times on each tonsil , leave it for 30seconds don't swallow or nothing, after 30seconds get the salty warm water and gargle it..... eat soup and drink hot tea, this will numb it more.

omg i have it right now and it is super painful. it is very hard to swallow and eat. i would suggest trying the antibiotics before considering getting the tonsils removed. But it is soo painful i want them gone!

i have tonsilitis at the moment and i just want it to stop sheww pain in the ears,throat,neck,stopmed up nose and all kinds of stuff im taking the antibiotic Azithromycin...a horse pill it helps a lil but the bad thing is i cant get my tonsils took out if it gets to bad blood wont clog threw my throat fast enough my antibiotic is only 1 pill a day 250 mg...2 the 1st day 1 for the next few days

I'm not sure if this is tonsilitus, but my tonsils are swollen and I have trouble swallowing food for some strange reason. My throat isn't in pain. It was some weeks ago, I had a sore throat and I couldn't swallow food but I thought it was just a sore throat. It went away a few days later. Now its starting up again, I'm going to the doctors tommorow.

OMG!! my tonsils are kinda puffy and red. I have breathing problems and i had broun citis a few days ago.. or a flu but still i mean... There not as bad theyre just puffy and red is that ok? or is tonsilitis when theres white stuff in your tonsils can some one reply to me?

I have it too & my Tonsil's look a lot more inflamed & swollen than yours, I know this was in April, but, did you try gargling with warm salt water or diluted TCP? Amoxycillin is a life saver, I was put on it when I had my wisdom teeth removed & when I have a rotting tooth removed & they are brilliant. NTS: If taking pill's, don't take them on an empty stomach or you will throw up, & it won't be pretty!

i had it back in march, started get a sore throat on tues, i'm like "ok i'm getting a cold", wasn't no cold, by sat i was in pain from it, woulda gone to the docter but couldn't until the next tues, doc gave me the same med twice a day for 10 days, after like 2-3 days i coughed up the infection, mmhmm huge chunk of puss, flesh, and slivia yummy, felt much better after that tho

but they keep coming back!!! like every 3 weeks. its freaking annoying!!! is it possible to get rid of tonsillitis for good without an operation or its gonna come always back? also are there ways to help prevent?

dude i had the same thing but mine was sooooo bad that my uhhh punching bag thing grew to 2 inches long 2 inches wide, i were to breathe out of my mouth i would gag and choke, the actual suff in my throat was wite as well, and it went black, it actually burned holes in my tonsils, mine laster 3 weeks, even though i had the same drugs as you and everything. to this day i still have really gross scars on my tonsils

hey i have it right now, my right tonsil covers half of my throat, im taking Penicilin (1000mg a day) i have been suffering side effects from it such as gut ache and fever, it really sucks... been taking the pills for about 3days now and nothing seems to be happening ; ;
