socal, of course they are wise enough to know that in addition to the 4 years of paid college, ( they receive 75% tuition reimbursement while on active duty) so that money actually comes back to them. I personally used my extra GI bill $ in investments and have my own home because of the GI bill combined with the VA loan benefit. It was paid off in 15 years, so that kinda qualifies me as debt free. Not bad for staying in for 2nd term, During Combat (1986-1994). Not feeling robotic here.

My brother was an "A" student and he volunteered for the military out of high school during the Vietnam War. In fact, I know some others who went in who had good grades and wanted to fight for our country. The military will not take some who cannot pass high school. To be accepted into some of the Military Schools, you have to have very good grades.
What a proud moment, these men and women are so brave. Those that talk so disrespectful and slander the actions of these soldiers are either jealous or could care less about this country. If it wasn't for our American soldiers, we probably wouldn't be a free country or we would be speaking a different language. i reelisted on july 4th 2007 at the al faw palace. they have done this every year since the war started. it has grown every year last year 600 reelisted and it gave everyone envolved a nice break. for those of you who have a problem with this this ceremony ask the guys who were there and why they reenlisted.

A normal re-enlistment ceremony is done amongst your company, platoon, or even your squad. It involves a couple of individuals and if you're lucky your company CO might show up. This being an election year and all, seems a bit ironic that General whoever just woke up yesterday and said, "hey, lets have the biggest re-enlistment ceremony in US history."

socal, of course they are wise enough to know that in addition to the 4 years of paid college, ( they receive 75% tuition reimbursement while on active duty) so that money actually comes back to them. I personally used my extra GI bill $ in investments and have my own home because of the GI bill combined with the VA loan benefit. It was paid off in 15 years, so that kinda qualifies me as debt free. Not bad for staying in for 2nd term, During Combat (1986-1994). Not feeling robotic here.

My brother was an "A" student and he volunteered for the military out of high school during the Vietnam War. In fact, I know some others who went in who had good grades and wanted to fight for our country. The military will not take some who cannot pass high school. To be accepted into some of the Military Schools, you have to have very good grades.

If not for propaganda purposes, why would they go through such great lengths to round up everyone in Iraq who wants to re-up and put them in the same building? You surely don't think all of these soldiers are stationed on the same base do you? That they all just happened to be in the neighborhood that day? It makes zero sense, they are in a war zone and there must have been some motive to make such a show

A normal re-enlistment ceremony is done amongst your company, platoon, or even your squad. It involves a couple of individuals and if you're lucky your company CO might show up. This being an election year and all, seems a bit ironic that General whoever just woke up yesterday and said, "hey, lets have the biggest re-enlistment ceremony in US history."
Nope, I am sure this has nothing to do with trying to draw support for their war. Why don't they have a ceremony when they recall troops?
