  • @jomatejko Definitely doenst say shitsickle. He says shitcom

  • No don't pop i' in the scrapbook!

  • Comment removed

  • "see ya later B"......simple, yet genius.

  • Sky called.

    And ?

They said they can put your dish up Thursday.

  • Not being from Britain I wasn't entirely sure what show they were parodying with "When the Whistle Blows". Was it "Bread" or "Only Fools and Horses"

  • @4thWallProduction

You can take your pick from dozens of British sitcom's from the past forty years. As bad as it is, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say "Whistle" is funnier than many of them.

  • 'Pop 'e in the scrapbook'

Every line he delivers is gold!

  • "that's it..that's the career over...."

"haha that's what one of the reviewers said!"

  • Continuity error: Once Barry is in the room the door closes and then opens again by itself.

  • I'd forgotten what his real name was..the award show was funny when Merchant says "those who know me know i would rather be with keith chegwin and barry from eastenders" lmao!!

  • @dageezerboi That's not what he says. He actualy implies that he'd rather be where ricky is.

  • I love how people in the comments call Shaun "Barry". exactly the reason they called him Barry in Extras XD

No one ever calls him by his real bloody name lmao

  • I swear i can hear Karl Pilkington say" What time do you call this?" at 0:24

  • @jacktalbot You're absolutely right!!! No way!!!

  • steve and barry should have there own show, they were brilliant in extras

  • Do people that don't live in Britain understand why Barry is so funny? I mean, do they know he's from Eastenders and stuff?

  • @lunacywishes13 I know that here in America most people don't know what Eastenders is (I've heard of it, but never seen it), but I still thought Barry was really funny. I probably didn't understand ALL the jokes but I understood enough to know it was funny.

  • haha he calls barry 'b' in that scene

  • steve and barry should have there own tv show, there comedy gold

  • If it helps anybody I looked at the subtitles on the DVD and they spelled it: pop it... Just saying.

  • HBO??

Wasn't this originally made for BBC 1 England, unless the Americans bought the copyrights of us for this.

  • @ColdShaun Well done.

  • poppy in the scrapbook haha

  • "Best one was the Telegraph"

    "what they said??"

    "They didn't review it"

    HAHHAHAH that line was GOLD!

  • Comment removed

  • its a shitcom

  • Thier timing is perfect.

  • that's the career over, that's what a reviewer said. lol

  • lmao best one was the telegraph, what did they say, they didnt review it :L

  • Best 1 was The Telegraph..what did they say..they didn't review it haha Merchant is a legend

  • @butsy27

    @thegilbernator

    @hadabenz

Thank you guys for saying the same line from the clip that thousand others have said, otherwise I wouldn't have understood it!

  • @zal awwww cheers buddy thanks

  • its a shitcom!

  • Moron is carrot in Welsh (:

  • I love British accent ^^

  • @MAH1500 Why? I have techniqually a British accent (a mixture of a Welsh and English accent) and it's not very glamerous. Along with Northern accents and stuff they just aren't very sexy. French accents are though! :P

  • @jamesstephenstube I speak French, it's my 2nd language. Very beautiful and sexy ! if well spoken, there's many accents in French, the Canadian on is the sexiest for sure !

English is my 3rd language and since I was learning it I was affected by many accents watching videos and TV, from American, Australian to North Europeans, that's why I'm finding British the fascinating one !

    It's just my opinion :)

I'm sure if you learn to speak French you will love it, if it's not already the case ^_^

  • Canadian French is the least appealing to me, the way they say "aboot" instead of about. In terms of the most I know Welsh is my second, English my third and Welsh my fourth. I hardly know other of my appartent second and thirds though. I have and do, in French, find it boring i'm sorry, (my opinion).

  • LOL u moron why would French people even use the word about thats how it's said in english

  • Whoever said that is shit bastard and will have no luck in life!

  • Who was it who said "Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, youre still retarded"? Whoever it was they're right. :-D

Classic show. Thanks for the upload, HBO. :)

  • @ShizuokaDolphin i heard that recently cant remember where

  • @specialfx34, amen to that!

  • he somes from the south west of england, where its perfectly acceptable to say "pop he in the scrapbook"....

  • can someone look at the subtitles on the dvd, to see whether its

    pop he

    poppy

    poppie in the scrapbook.

it sounds like pop it in the scrapbook, to me

because i live in the west country and ive never heard in 14 years poppy in that context

    anyway, very funny.

  • Comment removed

  • Ricky Gervais does repeat the line a bit oddly but it is definitely 'pop it in the scrapbook'.. the phrase 'pop it' is used a lot. 'Pop it in the oven' etc. It does sound strange but it is definitely not 'pop he' - that is rediculous. :/

  • @spacemanstevie "poppie in the scrapbook" my arse

  • Haha...ahh Youtube arguments are so pathetic :P

And there was me thinking it was "poppy in the scrapbook" :P

  • no sry listen again they both say pop he ..listen to gervaise sarcasticaly say "no don't pop HE in the scrap book, put the good ones in there.

  • Comment removed

  • "ouch... go on poppy in the scrapbook" " no don't poppy in the scrapbook" fucking genius!!!!! 1:10

  • Pop it in the scrapbook, not poppy.

  • pop he in the scrapbook

  • it's pop it, how does pop he even make sense.

  • because its english humour and it makes sense, if you think you can make out the word 'it' when merchant says the line and gervais repeats the line you need to listen again

  • No it doesn't you idiot, how in hell did you figiure it'd be pop HE in the scrapbook? listen to it properly, go learnt he language and actually listen to the accent PROPERLY and tell me what he says. POP IT IN THE SCRAPBOOK.

  • dont get lemon matey, anyone who tries to correct my language who says 'go learnt he language' can actually jog on. Are you even from the country? ps it is spelled 'figure'

  • It's a typo, go learn the language. Pop he in the scrapbook makes no sense, don't tell me to jog on when in your eyes POP HE IN THE SCRAPBOOK makes sense. Pop IT in the scrapbook, simple.

  • I'm sorry but he says pop 'he' in the scrapbook. I'm from the same place as Merchant. It's local west country slang. simple.

  • pop it, he clearly says it. I don't care where you're from that is clearly pop IT in the scrapbook.

  • Clearly your a deaf moron. Not only that the odds are that someone who is from the same area as Merchant can identify what he's saying. Your also suggesting that he's pronouncing it as 'eet'. He's from Bristol not up north.

  • Clearly you're an imbecile who believes that Merchant would decide to include a nonsensical sentence in a large show like this that IS broadcast overseas. I understand the accent AND the language better than you it seems, regardless where the hell you're from.

Pop IT in the scrapbook, not pop HE in the scrapbook. Idiot, seriously.

  • Your the idiot. Having this broadcast overseas doesn't make a difference. For a start you don't understand the language or accent better than i do, listen to Gervais at 1:12, he says HE, Merchant plays a character from the West Country, therefore he is going to speak like he is from THE WEST COUNTRY. I'm not going to continue this further i'm not going to waste my time on a person who thinks he's intelligent because he can say imbecile and argue over a word it's pointless!

  • Exactly, anyone who tries to argue pop he in the scrapbook doesn't deserve to argue nor have an opinion.

  • It's 'pop he in the scrapbook', because it's West Country slang. Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean that's not what was said.

  • Spelled? LOL, you probably shouldn't be judging English accents.

Pop it in the scrap book. Obviously.

  • @manarfd it's says poppy

  • @twig123 Nope.

  • @manarfd yepp

  • funny!

  • Of course it was never cancelled. Ricky stopped making it because he had the good sense not to flog the idea to death which is what would happen if it was made in the U.S. There was only ever 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers and it is the funniest televsion show ever made in the history of the english language.

  • Ba!

  • my sister has an immaculate ass

  • Does she know that this is the way you feel?

  • it was a joke

  • 'Ouch. Pop it in the scrapbook' Brilliant.

  • It has been for years. They only ever made 2 series and a christmas special. Extras has finished now too, again they brought the story to a close with 2 series and a special.

  • well, they delibrately ended it after 2 series & the xmas specials. great great series.

  • it never got 'cancelled', ricky and merchant just only made 2 series and a xmas special, the same thing they did with extras.

  • what? it was never cancelled:S

  • Hilarious.

I'm glad they ended The Office where they did because it's perfect.

I think they MAYBE could have done a third Extras series though, more tracks to go on. I love it.

  • itsssssssss....poor...its..rubbish hahaha

  • who is sky....dish??what

  • Satellite television.

  • Used to be called british sky broadcasting.

    Wiki it.

  • They also have they're own tv channels (Sky 1, 2, 3 etc.) and commission they're own shows, hence why andy looked intrigued when darren said 'Sky called', lol. Thats the joke :)

  • why dident they giv the agent a name

  • He does have a name

    "Darren Lamb" :)

  • his name is darren lamb

  • Darren Lamb

  • "It's a shit-com...Oh, we sorted that out". LOL. Ricky Gervaise is a comic genious!

  • who?

  • Steven deserves a show of his own.

  • He has got his own radio show.

  • "No, no... bad suggests that it's evil or something" Wneed more Darren Lamb, what a fantastic character....Same with "Barry", I love the idea of casting real people to play absurd versions of themselves.

  • "best one's the Telagraph"

    "what did they say?"

    "they didn't review it"

  • extras is a fantastic show

  • popee in the scrap book

  • Steven Merchant is bloody brilliant.

  • @EveStrange stephen***

  • lmao, timeless, genius. Ricky's HBO debut is tonight at 9pm, I'm in UK though so not sure I can see it. Is like a montage of material from all his stand-ups but still wanna see it :( Think I can only get it on demand tomorrow maybe.

  • Its the way Barry is genuinly quizzical - 'what good ones?'

  • "best one was the telegraph"

    "what they say?"

    "They didn't review it"

    LOL!!!!

  • British comedy ftmfw!

  • what does ftmfw mean mate lol

  • for the mother fucking win...i think

  • "What am I talking about, Sky called!"

    "And?"

"They said they can put your dish up Thursday"

  • "it's a shitcom, that's what a reviewer said!" LOL, such a good line!

  • i love that :) so funny

  • no need for a laugh track
