How is the video recording quality at night time, can you still read some person license plate in front of you not moving. I am thinking of getting one of these camera for those crappy parallel parkers that hit your bumper while they are trying to park, so I have there license plate number when I submit a claim to my insurance company or something.
I think this camera is not ideal for low-light condition. But to do what you want, you'd need, not just a low-light camera, but a microphone built-in IR camera that's aimed at the front of your bumper or attached to the back of your rearview mirror pointing at the windshield to capture the impact, both the visual and the audio.
Omg, quality is bad.
1. This camera does not have option to auto switch on if 12V power on, you must press power every time
2. 45 degree horizomtal view angle is ridiculus. Must be 60 or more.

Just connect a secondhand mini DV cam to a cheap cctv camera, better result just mount a cheap mini dv cam on the dash.

Hi -- does this unit have a date and time stamp? Is it only started by power on from the cigarette lighter or does it have motion detection.
Thanks
