Pretty sweet surpirse. Wonderful player. Not seen him before. I've been playing Wes since 1962. This guy is very very good. Best wishes for success..get to the studio!!!
Without reservation, absolutely superb. I listen to loads of guitar players and you are up there with the top players. In five minutes here, not even one bum note. Exceptional playing.
He really doesn't care for Pricy guitars. He actually discourages people from buying expensive guitars with an illusion that it will make them play better. And unfortunately I concur!!!
There are many people nowadays who play with extensive speed to make up for their lack of feel or emotion. You are certainley not one of them!! This was one of the most soulful tributes to Wes I have heard.
thanks for sharing how Wes influncenced your playing. I can hear Wes in many of the top jazz guitarists. I listen to W.M. almost daily and I must say, you did a great job here.
man i love wes too but there is a difference between us. haha im 14. but i love jazz music. so much devotion and love is put into it. is this an early wes tune or did you write it?
¡VEEEERRRRRYYYYY GOOOOOOOOD!, agile, smooth, fresh, sweet, deligthful, you're a very good guitarist. i recently dicover wes thanks to mr. 60otaku , and i learned that wes mongomery's style was taked for g. benson ,whos i'm a fan. now i belive that i will be your fan too. i'm going to listen rigth now your bluesette.
Your best yet, Matt. So musical, I love how some parts have these voicings that are so rich and make it sounds like there's a few guitars playing withh you.
how do u know which of the ninths to use in the tri-tone subs, especially when the fret fingerings are so complex? the dominant locrian scale of the minor chromatichs really shine through in this song. keep up the noice chord rotating.
Your playing is absolutely incredible. Really the definition of hip. Its got a definite Wes influence, buts its deffintely your own voice too, and thats awesome.
do you think you could maybe email me the chords to this song? ive been trying to figure it out and would love to be able to paly this on my own. bluebagsfishwife@yahoo.com. thank you
You're incredible. Much respect, I myself ma a guitarist of 4 years but lost some skill when I took a break from the guitar and stepped into hiphop production....
Great stuff! Wes has always been my main man, but you've channelled him well on this one. I'm sold - and subscribing. Oh, and heading back out to the woodshed. Thanks for sharing this.
That's unbelievable man, that's so great that you can write in his style so convincingly. If I didn't know any better I would say it must have been Wes'. Are you plucking with a pick or is your index finger just tucked in? I must know!
Great Playing! I saw Wes "live" in Boston in 1966 and was astounded how he could get such speed only using his thumb At the time he was using a Standel amp which he did not like.He said he just plays what they send him I play Gibson 1967 Barney Kessel with a Polytone Mini Brute amp Love your videos!!!
Hey Matt, sounds really great! The only wes montgomery or should I say jazz solo in general I can play is "Airegin" by wes and yeah you kick my ass any day hahahah Anyways, keep kicking ass, playin' those jazz clubs, recording, its sounds awesome!
Mat, paus didst het werkelijk in de vingers en mijn volledige respect. groeten uit Duitsland.
