I always loved this movie, even though I don't believe in little gray men. This is another lost gem, that ought to be on DVD by now. But I suspect there's a reason it isn't, beside just profit. Starman stole its idea of a huge silver mothership, showing up to rescue the stranded travelers. The military is portrayed fairly accurately, if not unflatteringly so. Perhaps another reason this movie has gotten snubbed.

It very likely was. Tangerine Dream were (are) very much in the habit of recycling their music.

This movie is so hard to find but is one of my most favorite sci-fi movies. The way it was filmed it just seems so real. I may have forgotten other good sci-fi over the years but this always stuck with me. It really should have gotten more attention than it did.

you don't know that its based on true events, your basing that on what camelot have said, there may be truth to it but we have no way of knowing that

Starman's spaceship was fashioned after the spaceship in this movie. Tangerine Dreams music is fantastic.

it's an awesome movie about a couple who befriend and assist a few aliens escape the US gov. Without telling too much they find out exactly what these childlike aliens are like intellectually and what they can do with their minds alone.
