  • Does anyone notice how John Cowsill (drums) looks a lot like Dave Grohl when he was with Nirvana?

  • It would have been much better without that horrible cheap sounding synth part.

  • that was fake !!! God bless the real C...!!!

  • This was the second resurgence after an absence on 'The Joan Rivers Show" 1991.Sorry it didn't make big waves. Good song, very talented group with longevity and a rich history. I wish they can hit bigger before they evaporate thru age. They still perform live and I suggest you see them live. They're really good.

  • Susan is great. So are her brothers. She makes one want to gag gag after hearing Lady Gaga. A lot of the so called singers of today are not real singers with talent. The producers of the tripe of today synthesize the vocals and even the lead vocals. They are no talent bums compared to Susan here.

  • I guess that's Barry on bass here. And if it is it freaks me even more that he ended up wasted in New Orleans as a street person during Katrina and died.

  • @xxxMrSuspendedxxx Don't know if it's Barry, since they mentioned having another bass player during the previous interview on the same show. But I do know he didn't end up a street person. Married, 4 kids, etc. But yeah, ended up drowned by Katrina, since they lived just outside the French Quarter.

  • When John and my dad where just starting to be friend. Him and his family are so nice and rock people who will be family forever.

  • lovely Cowills still giving generously, thank you Ms River.

  • John on the drums - now with the Beach Boys - is such a freak!

  • @lynnemar19

To an jerk like you. If you only new John then you can talk!!!

  • @lynnemar19 i wish you knew john....he is one funny person......

  • Like that song. They always have such good harmony. Thanks for posting.

  • Does anyone know when this was taped?

Susan is one of the best vocalists.. much better than most of the female twenty somethings now. She has a great range!

  • @MyCelticHeaven Well it ( Joan Rivers Show ) was only a 1989 - 1993 thing, so in there. Susan has gotten quite hefty since this but still has the magic, although I can only stomach her with her brothers or else doin' Cowsills stuff with her own band.

  • That's not Barry. Left to right is Paul, Susan, Bob, an extra guitarist (not Barry Cowsill), and John is on drums.

  • Right ... Bill was probably with his Blue Shadows group in Canada at the time (and he stopped touring with the family quite early) ... and Barry, didn't play with them often (doing his own thing?). John (drummer) has been with the Beach Boys for several years, so this is one of the rare recent youtube videos with 3 of the boys. Bob, Paul and Susan often still play now. Thanks Shamsky!

  • Glad I ran across this. I loved their stuff back when

  • And Barry rocking the guitar-sweet!!

  • Susan Barry John Paul

     Where's Bill?!?

  • did susan dye her hair?

  • It is different seeing Susan take lead, it was always her brothers. time changes so quickly.

  • it always cracks me up when drummers who are playing mellow, simplistic music act like they are wailing on the drums really hard ala keith moon..

  • The cowsills had plenty of talent. the others had money. I wish they had gotten more notice.

  • Damn...I like all genres of music but I wish I had known about them I would have stayed in touch. I'm younger than them just shy of 10 years but in 1990 I just didn't remember 'The rain, the park and other thing...' and although I do remember watching the Joan Rivers show, it's possible I might have missed this showing.

  • Wow, they've always had such amazing harmonies!

  • Hi Cowsill Fans!

I've just put up a couple of Blue Shadows videos on my channel. Just click my name at the top of this comment.

Billy Cowsill sang and wrote with The Blue Shadows from 1992 through 1995. They put out 2 albums for Sony Canada "On the Floor of Heaven" and "Lucky to Me".

Very few people outside of Canada knew about the Blue Shadows but within the Great White North, they had much critical success.

These videos have not been seen since the band broke up in 1995!

  • Where was the mom by this time in their careers? Anyone know what year this video is from?

  • Apparently this clip is from 1990, so Susan would have been about 31 years old. If you watch the "interview" clip with Joan Rivers (also uploaded to Youtube), you'll hear that Barbara, the mother, had already passed on.

  • They were promoting their Global album. Their mom died of emphysema in 1/85 at the age of 56.

  • comments about personal features are shallow and show a basic insecurity( 6th grade)these popmous remarks are hurting and really unnecessary.the cowsills took a less than desirable situation and changed music in the 60's.what more do you need to know---except this is another eclectic renduring.

  • Oh, lighten up, you humorless bore!

  • Whats popmous?

  • hi actually i inverted the p&m.there is a message here and i didn't want to divert attention from what i wanted to impart.thanks for bringing this to my attention.

  • Bud and Barbara obviously weren't big on orthodontia -- but the song is great. I went and bought the "Global" album on iTunes after watching this clip.

  • WOW!!! thats the way music is supposed to sound.....Im glad they are back

  • so glad they are back!! saw susan just this past summer and she is amazing, not only as a performer, but as a person!

  • I didn't expect this song to sound so good. Very nice. I like their personalities in the interview segment too.

  • Not many groups around that captured an era the way the Cowsills did.....Their special sound and harmonies bring back the late 60's in full bloom! I never realized Susan had such a great voice...God bless them all!

  • wow fukin awesome i love them

  • Where's your white go go boots Susan ?!?!

  • very good indeed

  • Good to see groups that where big have a second, third, fourth chance. They deserve it.

  • I really hate this song. But it's a matter of individual taste of course. They performed it well, just not my style of music.

  • Great Harmonies remind me of another sixties group,"The Hollies". This song is very well done.Susan has a great voice!

  • Susan still rocks! They ALL do! And they just keep getting better and better. Thanks for posting this one, James!

    ~Barb

  • Sound just as great as they did 25 years earlier!

  • Kickass! Thanks

  • Great song. I love the way Joan Rivers flinches when Paul thanks her at the end.

  • Yes, that was cute of Paul to hug her, and Joan seemed taken aback to say the least. I love the Cowsills they are so great!!! They sound awesome here.

  • Wow, I didn't know they were playing together again. They still sound great after all these years.

  • More mature from The Rain.. You know what, these guys could really sing. Tnks 4 posting.

  • Amazing....thanks so much, Susan is really GOOD!

  • Wow this sounds really good...

  • Wish they did Is It Any Wonder - killer tune from the same CD. Amazing you located this video - very cool

  • James, you Cowsill God, you!

I've been dying to get my hands on this one...

    AWESOME! Thanks, Kate
