If you want the costumes, you have to download them. They cost $6.99 and can only be played in challenge mode (Robin and Nightwing suits only). Batman's can also be downloaded but you can play those in story mode.

I think if you play as a character, you use their weapons. Like for Batman Beyond you should be able to turn on your invisible stealth and use your batarangs and etc. The Sinestro suit should be able to use the power ring. I also want to be able to play as Robin and Nightwing in the story mode. Hopefully the next one we can and use their weapons and moves instead of just the challenges.

All those awesome suits, and which one do they give you for free? Fatman (aka Dark Knight Returns). Seriously? That's ok though because I doubt I'll get to use them anyway. If they're only unlocked for New Game + and Riddler challenges, then I won't get to use them. I tried the NG+, and can't get past the first Catwoman room. Same with most of the challenge maps. I've never been able to master the fighting style in these games.
