The UN has discussed Tibet in 1950, 1959, and few more times after that. No need to discuss again. Waste of time. Ask your governments to tell the Tibetans to recognize what the whole world recognizes, and stop fighting - violence or non-violence, and that is REAL PEACE, and will put an end to all kinds of counter-fights.

The deaths of Tibetan people was tragic but compared with the number of han Chinese killed by the Chinese Communist Party during the same period of time, it is almost negligible.. The bottom line is that the killings you mentioned were not specific to Tibetan Chinese, it is a country wide chaos and massacre.

Because there are 5 million unarmed Tibets up against 1.3 billion Chinese, with the world's biggest army. The Dalai Lama is being pragmatic and accepting that having Tibet as a truly autonomous Province of China under the One Nation Two Systems Policy ( like Hong Kong) is more likely to be achieved than full independence. China can accept Hong kong and should be able to accept an autonomous Tibet.

If you ever been to Tibet by yourself (not led by traveling groups), visit the ordinary tibet nomads, you will see, there will be 2 pictures at their home: 1 is dalai lama, 1 is mao ze dong. They worship dalai because he is their god, they worship mao ze dong because he gave them land and freed them from slavery.
