Yes, certain groups of Muslims have been targeting and persecuting people of other faiths (including Christians) since such an act was possible. Just as the same can be said for Christians. Both of these religions have some seriously disturbing pasts and some horrible modern day problems.

i never said it was ok to put japanese in internment camps, but they needed some sort of supervision/observation otherwise america was asking for trouble so i can understand their actions. it was japanese in america who relayed information on pearl harbor back to japan
this was a nation who would rather kill themselves than undergo the slightest bit of same. i'd be pretty scared! fear and over-reactions go hand in hand!

people will look at it as discrimination, but they have every right to not to be cool with it.
after all the biggest threat to america, and many other countries, is terrorism which is almost solely done by muslim extremists. muslims will just have to accept that currently people are weary of them and just be sensitive of this.

@threadysparrow im arab and i'm agnostic, personally i think that it is their right as Americans to build the mosque but as Americans they should understand how it hurts their fellow countrymen to see what they view as a symbol of an organization that attacked them built upon the very grounds of the attack.
it is not a religious issue, its an American issue.
