  • Exene has been around for some time. Just google her and the band - X will come up. Watching video's from her led me here. I am sorry to hear of a lost of what clearly was a very good artist.....

  • Her death is a shame. Did she not have anyhone in her life to get her through this?

  • @spitsoup she did. i was a student of hers, but i really think she is in a much happier place now, and that's all i could ever want for her, after all she suffered.

let her music be remembered and rest in peace.

  • Rest in peace, dear sweet Amy.

  • Amy's fiddle playing and singing always delighted me. This is beyond sad. You will be missed.

  • Another blow to the Austin Music Scene. Bye Amy, now we have to grieve for you too. Austin needs a break from the bum out before we burn out. RIP Amy Farris, only the good die young.

  • r.i.p. Amy Farris

  • I've never seen or heard of Exene Cervenka till now & she's not bad.

Tho my main focus was on Amy Farris the fiddle player.

She is absolutely fantastically talented & quite gorgeous.

I saw her singing/playing her fiddle & guitar in the band Dave Alvin & The Guilty Women 6/6 Santa Cruz,Cal USA.

Amy was the reason why I went & she ruled the nite as far as I'm concerned.

After about everyone left with just the band putting things away.

I walked up to Amy praised her & got her autograph on her cd.

  • Wow! Cervenka has been a legend for almost 30 years now...

  • Is this from SxSW 2009?

  • yes. it was an afternoon party at "Yard Dog" (a folk art store on South Congress).
