i was going to watch this (was lead singer of band from 1983-1992) then i saw green day in the description...i will pass on this..when 'punk' became pop is worse than when metal became nu-metal.
I could care less if a band sang about politics, or if im not considered a punk fan because i dont have piercings or crazy hair. I just like the music. And i actually think that pop punk is better than any other kind of it. Long live pop punk/punk rock!!!!

@dani222fuklqo They were closer to the Backstreet Boys, not in sound but in origin. They were a manufactured group put together by their manager to cash in on an existing musical movement. There were dozens of better and more influential punk bands before and after them.

And if anyone bitches that "punk no longer exists," then listen to The Flatliners and if you're bitching that there are no more old school, no-life street punk bands then you need to grow up.
Greg Graffin and Milo Aukerman are the punkest guys ever, and they don't conform to the "stereotypical punk" attitude. They're just smart, phD's, scientists, and are realistic in their goals.

The bands that kids now look up to now are phD, political, smart, mature, "civilized" bands like Bad Religion, Descendents, NoFX, Anti-Flag, Pennywise, Strike Anywhere, Rise Against, Flogging Molly, Black Pacific etc.
Let's say early Green Day was pop punk...Good? I actually don't give a fuck about who's 'real punk' and who's not, thing is.. they all had some kind of influence on other people and they all kick ass! Just be happy there still is some good music around these days..
