@thesboys chalk it up to poor coaching, they were instructed to chop block and the freshmen and outside backer knew it was coming and hurdled them. the center was looking for a blitzing linebacker up the middle and none came.

@sdeleon1987 what linebacker? There weren't any even close to the line of scrimmage. The chop blocks, especially on the right side of the line, were horrendous effort. I'm a huge Notre Dame fan, but it looks like either the Pitt linemen bet on the game, or they were pissed at their QB and decided to fuck him over.

Been watching football for 40 YEARS and I've never seen the entire offensive line miss their chop blocks and all four defensive lineman sack the quarterback. FIXED!!!!!!!!!

You should notice that the Pitt OL tried to "cut" the ND DL, like option teams do and, well it didn't work, otherwise both the ND DL and the Pitt OL would have all been on the ground. The center was "uncovered" by ND and as such he didn't have anyone he could have blocked if he wanted to as he was suppose to pickup a LB if ND brought LB. If it had all worked then ND's DL is on the ground and the center is taking out an LB which gives Pitt a favorable matchup. But you missed that.

I'm not going to lie, this was an ugly, sloppy-ass game. I've got respect for Pittsburgh. They played every bit as hard as we did, but we were able to get the win. The game could have gone either way. The Irish need to play much better, or else we'll start losing games like this. Go Irish!!!!

I put together the highlights using a similar blueprint but with less plays, but that is precisely where the locker room speeches can be seen after every game.
