  • Great job!

  • @GodsyGirl Thank you very much! Means a lot. :-)

  • Thank you for posting this on here I know it was long ago but I love your signing..and I couldn't see the nervousness.

  • @klllewis Awww, thanks so much! Yes, I get VERY nervous on camera! I have a lonnnnng list of songs to sign, but my stomach quivers just thinking about it! :-) Thank you again!

  • BEAUTIFUL! this is also from The Wiz, which you might already know about since you are MJ fan. I did The Wiz earlier this year and I loved it! I think he would've been proud of my work.

  • @defianceizbliss Thank you! And yep, I have been waching The Wiz repetitively since the age of 8. :-) I also love Stephanie Mills version, as well as Melinda Doolittles. :-) Liked Diana Ross' version, too. They all did a GREAT job! Wish I could have seen you perform! Thanks again for such kind words!

  • I love this so much. Thank you for sharing.

  • @monkeysilly3 Thank you SO much!

  • You are awesome for publishing your videos. Thank you, and I love this song!

  • @stfuih8ulol Thank you so very much! Hope to get another song up soon. :-) Very much appreciate your kind words!!

  • I love to watch you sign. I especially like the way you sign as you are talking to God and the way you sign "fantasy". Great emotion!

  • @PaulaDDS Thank you so much!!! It's time for me to get a new song out... Hmmm...

  • I think that was absolutely amazing.. the emotion.. was so fluent and so beautiful.. you rock :)

  • dlaina1977 - Wow! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Means a lot!

  • i think your amazing... im 16 && in my 2nd yr of asl

  • hajidahk14 Thank you SO MUCH!!! Best wishes in your classes! Way to go!!

  • Many many thanks for taking the time to gift us with your ASL song!!

To help counter your nervous with camera, try imagine you perform to your best friend, it helps some. Hope this helps!

    Take care! Hânh~

  • Catsfaith - Thank you very much!!! Appreciate your tips also, I will definitely try this!

But guess what, I am more nervous in front of my friends than strangers! LOL But still will try this method. Thank you again!

  • @DeafTuber I spend most of my time translating for my friends who are Deaf and when I feel self conscious I remember I am doing this for Others! That helps some, but I'm not sure what could limit the impact of using a video camera, sorry. Again many luck! ~Hânh

  • You did a great job! That was very moving. That's a beautiful song and you did it with such passion.

Thanks for sharing this with the world!

  • @Azizip17 Thank you so VERY much!!!

  • HI! i'm hearing and i LOVE the wiz and we're doinga song each nine weeks in my ASL class at school and i knew this was the song i wanted to do most! Thank you so much. Your very talented at performing signlanguage. :]

  • DavidJMcCarthy - Thank you so much! Good luck on your performance! Would love to see it, if possible! :-)

  • Thank you!! You are the one who is giving us the wonderful gift. You are so beautiful and watching you teaches those of who are learning ASL. Keep on making vidios!!!

  • rootbeer141: Wow, thank you SO much for your kind words! Really means a lot! So happy this video can help you learn some more ASL! Keep practicing! Best wishes --DT

  • I'm a hearing woman who is learning ASL and I love it! Watching you signing a song is like watching poetry in motion. Absolutely fabulous...especially "I'm Every Woman" by Whitney Houston...please don't stop doing this...you're very inspiring!! LOVE IT!!

  • 9eviltwin9: Wow, thank you so very much!!!!

PaulaDDS: Thank you!! To answer your question, I often watch videos to watch the mouth movements of the singers. If they happen to turn their head though, while singing, or it's too dark to see their mouth movements, then I ask a family member or a friend to sing it in front of me so that I can learn the rhythm and see when they form the words with their lips also. :-) Hope this makes sense. Again, thank you so much for your kind words!

  • Thanks. Your answer to my question makes absolute sense...but seems like a lot of hard work, but I'm sure its a labor of love. My mother is HOH, so I'm learning ASL. I wish I had learned years ago. Your post are sooo helpful...Thanks for what you do. :-)

  • Beautiful! Very impressive!

  • That was beautiful. You didn't seem nervous at all!! So much emotion...just beautiful. How are you able to sign and mouth the words together with the song since you are deaf? Hope this question is not offensive. I am a hearing person.

  • That was very nice! I was curious how you were going to do that and you've done it beautifully! Your expressions got me convinced you were so into it! Excellent! Good Job!

  • ultimawpnz: Thank you very much!

  • Beautiful!!! Can't wait to see more!!

  • elliemay1229 - Thank you VERY much!!! I am practicing two new ones right now. :-)

  • this is so great! I am a CODA and I thought this was done very nicely

  • momoney275 - Thank you!!!

  • frontengine, yes it's a variation of the sign "better" (as opposed to the open hand sweeping horizontally across the chin). the sign you're confusing it with is not "make" but "work" as it can be interpreted "would it really work?" or "would it be better?" -- hope that helps :)

  • Great Job! I Am HOH And No You Should Not Smile More! It Can Confuse The Person You Are Signing Too! Keep Your Head Up So Your Lips Can Be Read At All Times Awesome Job!

  • ashbasgirl78 - Thank you very much!!! :-)

  • frontenginedragsterd / clint - Hmmmm, not sure about which one you mean? That is the only sign I've ever seen for 'better'. Where could I see the 'other' sign to check it out for you?

  • This really is very beautiful and moving...you really are singing with your hands and your whole upper body - it's like a dance. If you enjoy doing this, you should not hesitate to do more, because as you can see from the 5-star ratings many people really love what you do, including me!

  • jodeviv - Thank you so very much! How wonderful! I'm thinking for the next song is "Under The Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, which was also a request... I just get so darn nervous when the camera is on me!

  • frontenginedragsterd - Thank you so much for your amazing compliments!

As for the sign 'better' - I sent you the link via e-mail as youtube wouldn't let me post the link here. Odd.

You can find may signs at aslpro

    Hope this helps!

    Thank you again!

  • Why not another American Idol .... "And I am Telling You" by Jennifer Hudson? I imagine that you would just knock that one right out of the park.

  • Banerika - I've actually thought about that! I absolutely love Jennifer Hudson. Although the song first went to Jennifer Holiday; I still love Hudson's version also.

  • Great! It was the first song that popped into my head for you!

  • Banerika - smile. That one will take a lot more work, but I should be able to! I will use Jennifer Hudson's version though, what do you think?

  • Great! I can't wait! : )

  • :-) Will take awhile though...Need to play each song like 500 times or so first.

  • That's okay! Take your time!!! The end result will be well worth it!

  • Aw very good!

  • Krieger - Thank you very much! I appreciate your encouragement!

  • You are wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! I do hope you make more videos and I am subscribing to your channel! Beautiful.

  • Banerika - Thank you so very much! It is high time I get a new song. I think I've soooo many ideas that it's hard to focus on just one! Thank you again!

  • awesome!! i've been learning sign language since 4th grade because my best friend's mom is deaf as well. I know there's a lot of regional "accents" in ASL so there's some different signs for people in different places and i love noticing the little differences for different words!

    ps. you rock =]

  • MoonTrimmer28 - Hi, thank you so much for your wonderful comments! Signing since the 4th grade is a long time!

I used to only have the western pa 'dialect', but after I went to Gallaudet, I picked up most all of the different signs from different states and localities. It is fun to see the different ways that people produce a specific sign!

  • gohead now! dont hurt nobody now!

    Love ur bro Alan V

  • AlanV! Thank you!!!! Love you!!!

  • Don't get me the wrong way, but how do you listen to music if you're deaf? I'm not being rude, just curious.

  • roxasnriku1 - I can feel the vibrations, mostly. :-)

  • i have a sign language class.

  • hey my parents are deaf :) yes i know sign language also lol

  • That's very cool that you know sign language. Bet your parents are proud. :-)

  • Absolutely beautiful and inspiring! I love it! Keep doing more videos. God Bless you!

  • TerpVal, thank you so very much! Hope you are enjoying ASL every day!

  • I hope you DO more!

    ,\m/

  • GMPNY, Thank you very much! I hope to also! :-)

  • this definately made me tear up. u posses so much emotional, u know and i felt it. plz dont stop signing. This song reminds me off my grandparents and i love them very much. thank you

  • pharrellfan - Thank you very much! Sounds like you have some lucky grandparents. :-) Oh, and I like Pharrell also. :-)

  • You have a lot of passion when you sign. I like it a lot! So much feeling in your face as you interpret...passion is beautiful.

  • vforveracious - Thank you very much, I hope to get a 'new' song up here again soon. :-)

  • dreamoutloudmylove -- Thank you very much!!! LOL wish my nerves would believe you though. ;-)

keep signing and no need to be afraid in front of the camera. The camera LOVES you

  • ClaidiBabe - Wow, thank you so much for your comments! Would love to see your fiance sign a song here on TouTube also. :-)

  • deaftuber, yes it sounds like a gospel song.

  • i really really like this video. i've been watching it daily since i found it. great great job!

  • skyyhigh60481 -- Thank you very much for your comment! I'm happy that you like this 'video'. Hope to get some new songs up soon. I am thinking maybe Bon Jovi or Red Hot Chili Peppers... :-)

  • are you deaf. you're excellent. my aunt want me to try to perform "Father can you hear me" I know basic signs. i will practice or find something different. but i did subscribe to your channel.

  • iliketohavefun2007 -- Yes I am Deaf. :-)

Who sings that song, "Father can you hear me.." ?

Is it religious song? Seems like it. :-) Just curious if it's gospel or regular song.

Keep it up on learning sign language, that is wonderful!! And thank you for subscribing, yikes, I better get new song out.

  • ok. Tiffany Evans if i'm not mistaking. the song was sang on "Tyler Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Women. pls if you can this is a request as soon as possible. I'm practicing everyday. I will try to go to my friends house who's deaf and get her some how to help me.

  • are you currently in school. I pray that i can enroll in barton college (NC). I want to be an interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing. I know alot of signs. but i want to be able to preform them into a song. thanks for posting. I love that song. do you take REQuest.

  • liketohavefun2007 -- I'm not in school anymore. Good luck with getting into the college that you want!

I like to take requests, but can't promise that I can learn it quickly, as it takes hundreds of hours of practice. :-)

But yes, I like requests. :-) Thank you again very much for such kind comments!

  • Wow!! Beautifully expressive!! Wish I could make the music come alive as you do.

  • done well with great emphasis.

  • Thank you! :-)

  • wunderful! thank you - i felt the song - your love and expression showed. there IS no place like home ;-)

  • Wow, that was very beautiful. I am a hearing ASL student with a deaf teacher. I recently visited a church with a deaf ministry and was amazed at how beautiful the signed songs were. It also makes me happy when I understand what is being signed :) This is an absolutely beautiful song, signed probably more beautifully than it can be sung. Thank you.

  • I really don't mean this in a rude disrespectful way, but how do people who are deaf enjoy music? I am learing ASL now and am really trying hard, but I must confess I don't know much about living deaf :(

  • i have friends that are deaf. Alot of them can feel the vibrations. yes they can enjoy the same things that we do.

  • Hello, and may I say you have done a wonderful job with the song "home." Wow, that was just awesome. Do you take request? If so, can you do Glorious, by Martha Munizzi? it is a religious song that rocks.

    Thanks

    Valarie

  • That's really cool, my sister in a speech language pathologist and she has a degree in sign language so its rally cool seeing sign language and knowing what it means, instead of wondering if my sister is making fun of me.

  • if you could do katy perry or green day songs in asl?

    they are my fav bands/singers

i am hard of hearing and mite go deaf in a few years.... so i would really appreciate it!!!

  • Thank you for your reply. I am looking forward to that video. I didn't know you had to play the song 200-400 times... now I am even more amazed with you. Take care. Anali from Manila, Philippines

  • Misha - it's Tracy, your sister :) , I LOVE THIS!!! You are amazing.

  • Hi Tracy! What a surprise!!! Thank you! Love you very much! xoxoxo M

  • You are awesome.

    Nita

  • You are incredible. At age 57 I am learning ASL and it has been a challenge to be honest. I thought your interpretation was so moving. It inspired me to hang in there and work at learning ASL. Thank you for such a great performance.

  • Gingertake - Wow, thank you so much for your very kind comments! I'm so happy to hear you are learning ASL! And yes it takes some time to really understand how to use it, but after that, it's gets easier, promise! :-) Yes, PLEASE hang in there! It means a lot. And remember, you don't have to be a PRO at ASL, just practice as much as you can. :-) Same as some people have very fancy English, but most of us don't use it that fancy and formal! Same with ASL. :-) Keep at it, please! Thank you! :-)

  • Hello gingerkake, I know exactly how you feel. I am 57 and I just graduated last year with a 2yr degree in interpreting. Hang in there. Because of our age it may take a little longer to become fluent, but if you hang in there you will soon get there.

    Valarie

  • Thanks so much for the encouragement. Valarie, I am proud of you for hanging in there to get your intrepreting degree. Your words make me smile. They are appreciated.

  • Hi. I will be needing the songs of Keyshia Cole and Kenny Lattimore in ASL by the end of September. Thank you so much for your effort and concern. I hope to meet you someday... May you always be blessed.

  • Hi Anali0701 - I will certainly look into them! If I can't learn all of the lyrics by then, I can maybe send you private video with the basics for you. I need to play each song at least 200 - 400 times to know it well. Will try my hardest!

  • That was done really well! Great job!

  • Personality55p: Thank you very much!

  • Hi. I loved your interpretation of Home. I am currently studying ASL in the Philippines. One of our requirements is to interpret a song we like. I would like to ask your help in interpreting the song I REMEMBER by Keyshia Cole or FOR YOU by Kenny Lattimore. Thanks in advance. I wish the best for you and your family.

  • Hi anali0701, thank you for such kind words! It is great that you are studying ASL! I will look up that song by Keyshia Cole and Kenny Lattimore. When is your project due? Thank you again and many blessings to you.

  • All I can say is WOW!

    That was wonderful.

    Please post more!

  • shadoecw: Thank you! I'm working on more for sure!

  • Hey Deaftuber!

    wow your awsome!

and i was wondering if you could do

"play my music" by the joans brothers or

unchianed melody" by the rigtheous brothers?

that would be so great to learn it in sign language!

well hope you can and hope to se more videos

    your greaT

    take care!

    Miss K

  • MissKenyaCullen: Thank you very much! I will look for those songs and lyrics, but it will take a while as I've now got a list of requests! Yay!! :-)

  • wow, wonderful interpretation. beautifully signed. you shouldn't ever get nervous haha you're brilliant. keep the videos coming, i love to see someone who can sign real asl

  • Mouseykid04: Thank you very much for your nice and kind words! Yes, I love ASL very much.

  • you've done a beautiful job on this intrepretation, great job

  • ReneaLeanne - Thank you very much! :-) :-) The support here so far has been incredible and so much appreciated! Wow!

  • I have so many things I want to say to you but don't even know where to begin.Let me just say I truly enjoyed your interpretation of this beautiful song...I've never heard it before.I would send you a personal e-mail but unfortunately youtube is running some tests with IMac users and it is screwing up my ability to send and rcv personal msgs.I can only post comments. Before I run out of room here I was hoping you would take my request to put the song My Sweet Lord by George Harrison into ASL.

  • Hi MikaMamma - This song is actually from the movie "The Wiz" w/ Michael Jackson & Diana Ross. On 6th season of American Idol, I saw Melinda Doolittle sing it & just amazed me. I also learned that Stephanie Mills was the 1st to sing this on Broadway. (Well.. a play.) You can check Utube search for: Stephanie Mills Rosie - she's amazing! If I can find that George H. song video & find lyrics; I will surely sign it for you! :-) I work 80hrs per week, so please just patience. Thank you! :-)

  • Thank YOU! Take as much time as you need. I truly appreciate your response as I wasn't even sure my comment to you got posted! I so look forward to seeing more wonderful songs beautifully interpreted by you into sign. You really make them come alive with heartfelt emotion. Thank you so much and please let me know when you do My Sweet Lord.

  • I tried to leave a comment on this once but I don't know if it worked or not.. Just wanted to tell you that me and my Mom LOVED this video! Your signs were so clear and you showed such emotion in your face! Keep up the beautiful work! We hope to see more from you soon! We also nicknamed you "brilliantuber"! Much love and keep the videos coming please!! We're inspired and so happy that you chose to share! :)

  • Hi Fudgee1 !!! Wow! Thank you so much for your inspiring comment! It really means a lot, and the nickname made me smile, but lol I really need some way/how to get over nerves! Perhaps after a set of about 5 songs at regular pace might help. We shall see after the 5th video. :-) How do you two know sign language? Merely curious. :-) Thank you again, to both you and your Mom!

  • Whoa! You was feeling that song! It was so beauiful! You have a new friend here. Hope to hear from you soon. Why you just have 1 video, girl?

  • RealNiceDiva - THANK YOU for your comment; that is so nice of you! LOL I 'only' have one video, because I am still very nervous to have the camera 'eye' on me again, but even moreso - I've been SWAMPED with work and other responsibilities. Hoping very much that summer will allow me a little more time to get another one or even a few more up. :-)

I'm considering Dido's "Thank You" for the next song. . .

  • Very good, very conceptual and you were able to grasp the meaning of the song. Good job, I would have never guessed it was your first time. Continue to do it!! I anticipate another video coming from you soon.

  • SamuelmFranklin - GOSH this means a lot coming from you. YOUR signing videos are AWESOME!!!! Yes, I will get another video up soon! I am way too busy. :-) Hopefully by summer I can get a few more up.

  • Beautiful! I love the feeling in your face and actions. I am studying ASL and interpreting music is a passion of mine. Thank you for overcoming your nervousness and posting this. I am sure it is an inspiration to many people... me included :)

  • DdimplesD - Thank you so much for your kind words and compliment! I'm so happy to hear you are studying ASL! That means so much to me and some other Deaf, I'm sure. I look forward to seeing a song YOU sign, soon!

  • WOW YOU DID GOOD!!

  • srlucas87 - THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

  • Wow, the song and the signing was both beautiful. As others have said you didnt look nervous at all. Please do more, this was very inspirational. I enjoy signed music but few people have the gift of doing it well. You are one of the gifted. Keep it up!

  • Hi deafmomma1: WOW! Thank you, that means SO MUCH to me! Please, if you have any request, it makes the song choice way easier. :-) If no request, that is fine also. Your words mean a lot to me and I appreciate your comment so much.

  • Wonderful! I like your video beautiful ASL

  • Wow thank you very much! I appreciate comment from other ASL users as well! I checked your video on the Deaf Angel Sign Language. WOW! Thank you again for your very kind words!

  • Simply inspiring. I joined a sign language church to help deaf students of the bible and I'm especially nervous signing in front of people and especially having my face on a movie screen. I learned signed english to teach my "homeschooled" son. I am now trying my best to change to asl but I'm 57 years old and it's hard for me. You made it so poetic. I wish there was some way to download the movie to share with others. You were beautiful. My signed name is g and happy. I truly enjoyed it~

  • wow! that was great! you did not look nervous at all! i am going to learn how to sign that song!!

  • Hi sillypizza! Thank you very much! And YES, I was extremely nervous. I get nervous even watching it, months later. If you do learn it, I'd LOVE to see it!!! Best Wishes. :-)

  • Wooooooooooooooow! That was beautiful!!! So expressive! Thank you for showing this one.

  • Vcb1023 - Wow, thank you very much for your feedback! I appreciate it so much!

  • That was awesome - I got a few new signs from this - thank you!

  • Luvmy2gals - THANK YOU! Would love to know which signs you learned/picked up? Thank you again for your compliment!

  • your video is so beautiful and your signs are easy to read and understand. you put so much expression into signing you make the other person feel the music and the emotion you bring with this song.

  • Nwafc2, Thank you so very much for your comments. It means a lot to me. I didn't expect for anyone really to find this video. It was more to try to release nervousness in front of others.

I'm so glad my signs are clear enough for you to understand. :-) The webcam can be tricky to work with using so much motion.

As for the emotion - I absolutely love Melinda Doolittle (who sings this version), so it's pretty easy to feel it. :-)

  • this is beautiful! never been shown this song before.. Ever since I witnessed an interpreter come to a course I had 1st year in university I have been learning more and more about ASL and the deaf community. I am continually amazed. I am also nervous in front of camera, so kudos to you! Great job!

  • Dare2B4, Wow I thank you so much for your support on this. I am almost to the point of having to pretend I'm NOT in front of a camera to make this work. I don't know WHY I get so nervous in front of a lens. Will keep trying more songs until hopefully I can be with less nerves in front of others.

    Thank you again! :-)

  • That was great!!

  • Mileneum69, Thank you for your supportive comment! :-)

  • absolutely beautiful! you didn't look nervous at all. i'm so so so impressed. make more videos please!

  • this is wonderful.

I've been learning sign language slowly over the last month or so.

you give this song a whole different level of passion

  • Hi Sharisunshine! Thank you very much for your kind and supportive comments! I'm so happy to hear that you are learning sign language! I and other Deaf I'm sure do thank you for this! Keep it up! If you are consistent, you will find yourself learning more and more by the weeks and days. :)

    Thank you again!

  • How beautiful! I loved your facials and how you showed the beat/flow of the music in your signs! Wonderful-thanks for sharing!

  • Amanda1234. . ., Thank you very much for your wonderful and nice words. It means a lot to me of everyone's support! Wow!

  • Amazing! It made me cry. I was so touched by the song and the sign language! God bless you and more power!

  • Kane07t, Thank you very much for your compliments! How wonderful to hear from everyone. I appreciate your support so very much. :-)

  • That was absolutely beautiful!!! I love sign language, I tried learning but I'm not too good at the moment. I really love what you've done. I did this play in High school. I tried with my friends I was taking asl with to learn to sign the songs but it didn't work to well. You did an amazing job.

  • IamSirDock, Thank you very much for your kind words! I think it's time for a new song though. :-)

  • Beautiful signing ;) You ADD to the song ;)

  • Hi tinkertaylorsolder! hehehe, I love all of your comments and appreciate it so much. I do have a Christmas song. Is it too late in the season already? :-) Thanks for your feedback and comments so much!

  • So beautiful!!!! I have watched this 3 times and I am still wanting more!!! Maybe there is a chance!!!!! ;)

  • tinkertaylorsolder, thank you for your comments so much! I have said a few times on this page that I'm happy to try a request. :-)

  • Are you deaf or an an interpretor??? You signed so fluently... yet had such command of the many aspects of 'spoken' language. I SO enjoyed watching and listening to your presentation!!!

  • Hi tinkertaylorsolder! I am Deaf. Although I've also worked as a Deaf Interpreter. :-) (Really.) And remember, there are lots of hearing people also that sign and are not interpreters. :-) I don't understand about the aspects of spoken language, but will guess and take it as a compliment. :-)

  • This was great! I am learning sing language. Thank you! I am able to learn from you.

  • cillapig! Thank you very much for your wonderful words! Thank you ALSO for learning sign language! Means A LOT. :-)

  • Absolutely stunning!! **hands waving** I've got goose bumps watching you... this was exactly the inspiration I needed. Amazing!

  • dcministry, THANK YOU for the Deaf Applause! Thank you for the flattering words! I have Sandi Patti on my list of songs... :-)

  • Wow, nicely done! I'm trying to learn ASL - luckily I live near DC and I'm meeting a ton of new friends who are at or who have graduated from Gally.. I'll probably watch your video over and over until I can follow along without the sounds!

  • jev2k - Thank you very much! Yes, I was in DC for ten years before and there are LOTS and LOTS of Deaf there! You'll meet some great people for sure there who sign.

Please let me know if there is another song or another type of song that you'd like. I have been waiting for a new request! :-)

  • you are wonderful I enjoyed it very much!

  • mutantmeat - THANK YOU! I appreciate your kind words so much!

  • I did not know you are deaf. That really makes it special to me. You are so very good. Makes me want to cry.

Excellent! Wonderful! Really remarkable and unforgetable. I want to encourage you to sing on. I can hear, but you, being deaf can hear so very very well. Much Love your way.

    Thank You

  • Scicarp -- THANK YOU for such empowering comments! I will keep at it. Just need 48 hours in a day. :-) Thank you again!

  • Keep signing girl, you are good.

    I enjoyed this.

    Janet Pedigo Watford

  • Janet -- Thank you! I truly appreciate your support. :-)

  • Awesome! Beautiful interpretation of "Home" I love it! You have potential! Please continue to do many more videos of ASL signed music! Check out my ASL signed music videos, I think I have about 5 of them... Smiles. Thank yo ufor sharing!!

  • mkrajnak -- Thank you for your kind words! I will be happy to do more songs, however due to my busy schedule, it's really hard to get a lot of time to practice. But please feel free to make a request! That will get me. :-)
