    Why not? Women, in general are more flexible,but he has obviously been working hard. What may be the case is, as a young child ligements are more flexible, if bend and stretch them, much of the time they will become softer as an audlt. I may not be an adult (13 years old) but I'm pretty flexible and hoping to stay that way. There is no erason why a man should not be able to do this.

  • tk4D: See his shoulder alignment? watch how he holds the heads of his arm bones, and his shoulder blades draw back to give his neck space. If you practice good shoulder alignment you can do this without neck pain, an Anusara teacher should be able to show you how :-)

  • No with the proper stretching over a period of time anyone can train their muscles to stretch like that it just takes dedication and at times a lot of physical pain. Its a simple contortion move done very well with great body control. Great job love your an amazing young man.

  • If you're a breakdancer (B-Boy), you could try learning hollow backs or inverts (inverted hollowbacks). More cooler than scorpion but this was sick.

  • this young man is clearly a strong and capable yoga practitioner, not a gymnast. and in hatha yoga, ususally the toes are not pointed as they are in gymnastics. yogis press evenly through both the heel and ball of the foot. i'm not saying one is better than the other, just different. so lay off telling this guy to point his toes. his scorpion pose is very good.

  • It's been a while since this comment was posted, but I'll reply anyway. You are right, I am not a gymnast or dancer, but a practitioner of Hatha Yoga. As you say, my toes are not extended, but my heels flexed instead, for this reason.

  • Reguardless of what sport you do you are very very good and should look into contortion. You have obviously conditioned your muscles very well and either have a great coach or a great deal of natural ability. No matter I have a lot of respect for you.
