This is the Eurasian Collared Dove that you get all over Europe and parts of western Asia. It looks similar the the African Collared Dove (aka Cape Turtle Dove) except the African Collared Dove has completely black eyes.
I feel so immature- here’s this really cute dove, and all I can think is that the end of it sounds like he’s farting. Repeatedly. And I’ve watch it two times. DX XD
@Desertdweller7 what the fuck man... when you don't know what u're talking about, you shut the fuck up ... this Nini girl is my sister and she would do anything for her animals... he is able to fly, and if he was that much in distress, you would see him trying to escape... duuuuh...¬_¬
lol I have 2 ring neck doves, so i was walking by their cage and I slipped on air (u know how that is) and i fell, and my male bird started laughing at me T^T
Is this a territorial call? My dove does this whenever he/she lands on something, and did it even more when my lovebird decided to pick a fight with her.
Funny video. I think they do this to intimidate threats (or at least mine did, then it would attack). This would make a great prank video ala rickroll.
hahaha, birds are just funny. There's just something very very funny about the way birds behave. lol. Well, except for Owls, they're not that funny, they're more scary.
I found a dove yesterday in my garden, it can't fly so i am taking care of it. But my family says to get rid of him as they fear about (SWIne FLu). I am especially worried because it does not make any sound. and it has got diarohhea. We had two doves at different times given birth in our front garden. I thought it's pregnant or maybe it's he. I need help what shall i do.
oh, i miss this sound so much! i used to own three! the first time i heard them laugh, scared the HELL out of me! i didn't know they did that. first thing i thought of were trolls in my room!!!! LOL! lovely lovely birds, though. thanks 4 posting.
i actually think it is a sign of aggression. i think they do it when they want to be left alone. so maybe when he jumped the sound of the cage may have scared him. idk. but its funny, and he is a really cute bird! i shud put up a vid of my parakeets being funny. lol.
@NiniChan20 Great Video! However actually there is a "Why" Your dove is saying "This is my territory and only female doves are allowed on here"
So its kind of singing, mating call and war dance altogether. Every thing in nature has meaning! the thing is to try and understand it. They are very inteligent in their own right!
He looks happy! You should try get him a female haha
@rocksoliddude1 That's what ringnecks sound like along with a more classic coo! I rescued a homeless one and knew nothing about them when I found it. I found on YouTube that they "Laugh" but mine didn't! Months later it made this sound and everyone in the room started laughing! :-)
This isn't a coo. This laughing noise is a form of aggression. A warning to other birds. All ringnecks, male and female do this. This is a maile in this video, and he is basically marking his territory.
Holy crap! my doves do the same damn thing! Those fuckers scared the SHIT out of me! I was playing basketball one night in my backyard, and my dad had just got a pair of doves, so when i got tired and sat down, out of the darkness i hear this little fucking perverted old ass pedofile laughing at me? comes out it was the two doves my dad got. Damn birds are assholes.
@NiniChan20 Good point. Calling birds assholes because they're birds and make noise? That comes naturally for them. Definitely give the bird(s) to a home that loves it.
@bryan0102 You don't "train" a dove, I didn't teach Yazoo anything, he's just acting like a dove, that's all. He's a bird, so he DOES fly around, duh!
wow that has to be the funniest thing I ever heard, lol wonder when my dove will start doing that, she's still getting used to our home, but she started cooing recently. XD
my sister breeds these doves..they are called "African Ringneck Doves" or "the laughing doves....they come in pied and natural...Yazoo is a natural color while the pied was created from breeding
It's not fake, I have two such birds, and they make this sound, they also have a cooing sound. Maybe you should explore around some shops that sell Eurasian Collared Doves and ask them about the "laugh" they do..
Some pet stores, yeah. It really depends on the pet store, though. One around here had them for a few weeks, then never did again. I got mine from a breeder, its much cheaper.
The Ringneck Dove in this video is acutally just making this noice to say, this is my territory. Male doves will do this every-so-often. All Ringnecks make this noice, young or old, male or female, and are not trained to do it. ;)
There's only one way : blood test at the vet. Since the testicules are inside of the dove's body, it's impossible just by touching to tell if it's male or female. If you don't want to go to a vet for blood test, you just have to suppose it's sex either if it lays eggs or not (still, there are some females that could lay eggs after 2 or 3 years of life, even older. so it's hard to be a 100% sure without the test) :)
This may sound stupid, but do they lay eggs without the male? I have had this bird for about 13 years. It showed right at my door around christmas, and was very tame.
Actually, did you know a all female birds will lay eggs every month? Ringneck doves lay 2 eggs twice a month, this, resembling a womens period. XD I know..gross, but true. When the female dove is about to lay an egg, if a male is available, she will mate, fertilizing the egg, simular to what women do. If the egg is not fertilized, it is just laid..or in out terms, we get our period.
Male and females look the same, but the best, and cheapest way to to tell them apart is to put 2 doves together, if it is a male and female, over time they will mate, male on top, the male may also, coo and bow coo to her continusly. If their are 2 males together, they will fight.
actually no, he's eating pellets (80% daily) live seeds (10%) (wiches mean "not dried", not walking seeds... I'm just saying, just in case T_T ) and vegetables/fruits everyday ^^
I already had a Laughing Dove, and she was soooo cute. Whenever i was putting my hands under her she was jmping right in the middle of my hands and begining singing in my hands... she was sooo cute... :'( i really love these birds, with their black crown on their neck
I had a ringneck dove that did that years ago. I miss that noise :( He actually used to do it as an aggresion sounds towards us or another bird..followed by a loud Coo.
such a beautiful bird! I have an Albino Ringneck (cleverly named LadyBird). She laughs kinda like that. Doves are so beautiful. That laugh gets me everytime!!! Keep posting more vids, I can't wait to see the next one!
If you feel it's pelvic bones (just above its vent, you can tell the sex. A male's pelvic bones will be touching each other, or will be slightly separated (not enough for a finger to get between). A female; you will be able to get your fingers between the bones. The space is for an egg to pass through, just like a woman, the space is much larger.
I've fed my dove wild dove seed from the pet store. I've had her for 12 years now. They also like greens. Go online to some dove care sites and get a list of the things that will be good for your bird!
it depends on the specie... for ringneck doves, the only trick I've learned so far is the paw's color --> pale pink is female, darker pink (almost dark red) is male ^^

it depends on the specie... for ringneck doves, the only trick I've learned so far is the paw's color --> pale pink is female, darker pink (almost dark red) is male ^^
