  • THE BLACK SHADOW RISES AGAIN!!! NANANANANANANANA

  • "I am now straddling my boyhood hero... no no wait thats not right" LOL

  • THis was Very cool.. it was a shame the guy shit the bike!! I whant more movies like this

  • pt2?

  • led zep? dont u mean black sabbath

  • Thumbs up for the bike. Thumbs down for the rider.

  • This is my new goal in life. I want this bike. So bad.

  • Actually all heavy metal musicians can trace their roots back to Black Sabbath.

  • The presenter here is a clown. Check out Jay Leno's Garage for knowledgeable commentary and three beautifully preserved Vincent's to die for.

  • Yeah don't give up your day job!

  • Hammond what a tit, how can you leave the reserve on after filling up knowing the age of the bike? And why hadn't they cleaned the tank?

They've gave a priceless piece of history and a marvel of engineering to a complete imbecile. Any non-moron would have easily won the race with on the Vincent.

  • @thrombox any moron like you?

  • 1:16 i love it that British care for bad drivers, here in indonesia,we just let them go if they do that,i wanna lvie in UK where there are nice drivers

  • Thumbs up for the guy.... the show is meant to entertain... and i watched the whole episode and i have to say that Richard was the most entertaining one.... :)

  • Okay but he still gets a thumbs down from the regardless.

  • considering that hard start, you really really dont wanna stall this bike

  • Who is this guy tell me.

  • @DevesterOner It's Richard Hammond from Top Gear

  • @renewer i think bike fans and car fans have diff taste, you know,im more into cars than bikes,so I think this is a great review

  • What a sound!

  • Thumbs up for the bike. Two thumbs down for the guy riding the bike.

  • @DevesterOner

Do you know who that guy is? :O

  • Fastest production bike in the world until 1973? I really doubt that given the Honda CB 750 and Kawasaki H2 had been around for several years by then. My old H1 would do 126mph.

  • I think you are probably correct but it may be that the Vincent Black Lightning was the fastest bike until 73, this is said to be a Black Shadow which was not as quick as the Lightning.

  • @citizenfitz that thing could do 201 KM/h

  • i doubt you could enter a thing like that in a race however [...]

  • he did not understand the bike and the bike did not like him he should stick to electric start scooters and gps

  • nice clip ive uploaded the full version of the race check it out on my channel

  • My dream bike!

  • I trace the roots of Heavy Metal to Black Sabbath! Seems to fit the bike quite well.

  • Fantastic salute to road safety there hammond. black bike, black helmet and black leathers on a dull dreary day with no lights on.

  • @james86d I hate when people try this argument. Anyone who knows anything about optics and visibility will tell you that plain black object is extremely visible. That's why anyone attempting to camouflage themselves HATEs plain black objects for example. As for the darkness, he is riding a bike with lights on the fornt back and sides with reflectors and reflective surfaces all over the place. he is very visible.

  • So pretty much the fastest bike until Mr Ducati and Mr Honda decided to get serious about building bikes.

  • anyone knows actually what model this black shadow is? what year?

  • @jmrui89

According to the DVLA this Vincent was made in 1952.

  • it's a vey good bike i love that...because is very strong and very original motorcicle it's the best whit the yamaha xt 550 and moto morini crsaro 125 ahahahah

  • A great bike ridden by a knobhead. Its always the way.

  • @trunk39able lol agreed. Big boys and their toys, talking shite all the while. Come back Quentin Willson and Chris Goffey, say I. New Top Gear is a pox.

  • I owned one and it was relatively easy to start - as long as you followed the right procedure. Use the valve lifter (as Hommond does), ease rear cylinder over compression, lift kick start up to top, swing down, releasing valve lifter when kick start is about "8 o'clock". Worked most times first time.

    So there you go.

  • I want one!

Dont suppose they're still in production...... :(

  • a large bird ... thanks a lot man

  • What passes in the sky at 1:52 minutes?

  • @suxresci ... My guess would be a bird.

  • @adoniscomplex it was 2 african swallows holding a coconut by the husks

  • @labay42

Oh yeah, 2 African swallows maybe, but not 2 European swallows ... but then again African swallows are non-migratory ... so they couldn't bring a coconut to Europe, right?

  • @adoniscomplex they were on holiday.

  • @adoniscomplex well i dont know that wooaaaahhhhh

  • @suxresci an alien spaceship, what else it could be?

  • @suxresci have u see rod before? thats a rod :)

  • eureka!!!!!!! top gear at last ride a motorbike! i'm very happy :)

  • I remember following two Black Shadows near Banff Alberta. They were ripping up the curvy highway without effort and seemed to have massive torque pulling up hills. Very impressive for 1930's technology.

  • "I am now straddling my boyhood hero." Haha Hammond comes up with some good one liners.

  • This is a brilliant bike. We are lucky enough to own a rare 1950 Vincent Black Lightning. Yes of course these old bikes are not as easy as modern bikes, but at least they are never ever boring. Find my 2 videos of our beauty on here please.

  • quite a few vincents are used for regular travel so sneering comments about their reliability make me laugh if you dont know what your talking about dont comment !!!!they are known for their build using at the time aviation class materials and were considered too well built making too little profit but then they were made for a long time .........

  • @thrustvector agreed. The only real problem here is not Hammond's enthusiasm for the bike, its just his ignorance. Indeed, how many people who sneer at this (and other Brit bikes) have not owned a Japanese 2 stroke that has not been 'quirky'. It was the 'quirkiness' of both my Suzuki 2 strokes that saved them from being stolen. unlike my 'press the button and go' Honda's that I've owned

  • like all british bikes it had to be followed by a back up team in a van

  • can I guess polshit? you own a sportser 883? even worse you got the t-shirt but haven't got the bike yet?

  • if all shealas are like you no wonder aussie men prefer sheep

  • @polskich - no, sully, thet's Nu Zulunders.

  • @JBofBrisbane are you saying that its new zealanders that form meaningfull relationships with sheep

  • It's just an awesome motorcycle!!! Only the problems starting that thing gives it away. My Derbi also has to be 'kickstarted' so I know that pressing a button can be quite less frustrating. Other then that it really is an ICON!!

  • Old, but very beautiful

  • @YamaxOn

    I want one!

Dont suppose they're still in production...... :(
