It sounds 2 blasts at noon and 9 pm every day. Other than that, just box 4-2-1 for fire calls, which probably averages once or twice a week. It is located on top of the town hall in downtown Medfield, MA. The only other area town I know of that uses a fire horn is Dover, MA, but theirs seems to be used only intermittently (and apparently not during overnight hours due to resident complaints).
we live across the street from the fire station. they don't use the horns on top of the roof, just the fire klaxon.

I can tell you that is not a Diaphone. It's some sort of diaphragm horn, if I had to guess some sort of Leslie Tyfon.
