I'd really like to see you paint one of those lazer sharp lines in a hurriane. That would be really impressive. But get yourself a tripod first bud. Peace.

@windypainters 1. I hope you can paint better than those stupid videos of yours, that gave me a headache. 2. You dont dictate nuthing to this Great Painter. 3. Thanks for the video. I try to watch a lot of videos from many sources when starting a project and feel I get a good introduction to the subject this way. Cutting in is an area I am focusing on now and your video has given me some new insights.
@barkercontact I just painted the inside of my house this winter cause I was bored and I took video of the process. I need to make a playlist of the dozens of house painting videos tips and tricks I have. Glad to help. RH
Preporation of the surface was awful, you didn't work in the brush properly, there is a gap in the surface which makes it unbelievable easy, no matter how good a person is at painting they can still spill paint. Oh and it's not a "fench brush". Amatuer.
@DIOSpeedDemon Once again with the unnecessary arrogance. Seriously, If you were truly good at as great as you say, you wouldn't be making Youtube videos and get angry at anyone who questions your "absolute amazing painting skills." Its people like you that really know how to piss me off, along with the rest of society. Face it, you are an amateur. Deal with it. It doesn't mean you suck. You just blow yourself out of proportion.
ive seen enough after two mins " proffesional marksman" your not a pro and shouldnt be doing pro tips, first of all your in sandals , come on its a job not a hobby!
Well, I can't say I have ever painted " IN TOTAL DARKNESS OR IN THE MIDDLE OF A HURRICANE OR ON AN AMERICAN AIR CRAFT CARRIER IN THE MIDDLE OF A 140 MPH " With my 25 years plus as a painter I get paint on my hands cloths, use a drop sheet as drips do come off the brush... You sir, are a turd and are full of it. OH, and yes I can cut a straight line.... with both hands
@dynamic467 I AM A PREMIER PAINTER WITH OVER 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE, MY WORKS SPEAKS FOR ITSELF, RETARD. LETS SEE YOU MAKE A VIDEO SO I CAN LAUGH AT IT. YOU WONT BECAUSE YOU SIR, ARE A COWARD.
you are in no way a painter and you give the pros a bad name stick to drinking whiskey and give your brushes back to your six year old kid for art class
@DIOSpeedDemon no you're not. you still have to hold your breath, even though you can do it in a hurricane? geez man that's so unpro. :D
oh yes, here's a neat trick, you have to sand the old finish to get a good bonding layer for new paint. but I guess you already know it, I was just a mere painter in a car bodyshop. what do they know about it? :D
I believe that most of the work in cutting is done when you 1st buy the brush & keeping that brush clean. I love using the slanted tip Purdy brushes for cutting. It becomes more difficult when your using a brush that has the bristles all fanned out.
@Thrashvel GLOVES ARE A PERSONAL PREFERENCE , YOU BRAIN DEAD RETARD FROM PLANET X AND BEYOND. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE VIDEO AND SHUT THE HELL UP WITH THE PEANUT GALLERY COMMENTS. MORON.
All in all Speed demon did exactly what a "true Painter "needs to do ...
In this video he showed you how to "CUT IN" Agreeing with hazeleyes but at the same time vs screw USE a magnet It DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU USE A 6 " BRUSH OR A 3/4 BRUSH
it"s "ALL TECHNIQUE" I AM BY NO MEANS A "PROFESSIONAL .... but I clearly understand what speed demon is saying here .... you have to bring the "paint UP"!!! to the surface you are trying to cut in ...... .. Typed sent.. done ...Lawssss
@lawssss YOU ALL NEED TO FOCUS ON THE MESSAGE, NOT THE EXTREMELY SEXY, 6'4", WIDE SHOULDERED , ALPHA MALE, THAT BROUGHT YOU THIS VIDEO FOR FREE I MIGHT ADD. THE TECHNIQUE TO SUCCESS IS TO FOLLOW THRU ON THE MOTIONS STEP BY STEP, LEARN THE REASON WHY THESE STEPS NEED TO BE DONE AND THEN PRACTICE WHAT YOU LEARN. DONT BLAME ME BECAUSE I LOOK LIKE COLIN FARRELL...Thank You.
@DIOSpeedDemon LOL Im 6"2 and YES this is my REAL pic .... I am a musician at heart hence the piano in the back ground , how ever I am a stone and brick mason "by trade "
While doing all sorts of government projects for "low income" family's here in the US .
I am 37 and while by no means a "professional "at ANYTHING . I watch videos like these to learn different ways to do things and am ALWAYS open to learning new things .
@DIOSpeedDemon@DIOSpeedDemon BTW .... I dont know your nationality but While Colin Farrel IS a good looking Irish Guy , I would not use him to compare my self to .......His rudeness and arrogance is uncanny ....Now Hugh Jackman is the "whole package ";) I am by no means gay but was making my own opinion assumption , and ya "jack is an Aussie ...Aussie.....Aussie......oi.oi.oi lol .... again thanx for the vids and keep em coming ...
mrtinflo..thinks pretty highly of himself doesnt he ,,, and by the way he just showing u HOW to cut a line dont matter what hes using,, stop being rude,,,,, and as for your brushes u r kinda wrong about that,, u shld hang a screw in a spin bucket and hang them just at the hair line your brushes wont leak on you ...
@abuss98074 I'm a painter/dec by trade and i agree with your comment though i found i couldn't stop laughing throughout at how bad this video and the painting was. maybe it was put up for us to laugh at. HOLD YOUR BREATH? lmfao.
@SegBekur I paint in what is comfortable because painting is an art to me. Try painting a straight line in one hand, a camera in the other and make commentary at the same time. Yes I am a PRO. Check out my latest interior house painting video series 1-40, and you will see what a great painter I really am.
if you want to do a video on how to paint a straight line, do it against a flat ceiling or trim or even an accoustic ceiling, not a seam in a garage door. Really? LOL. Hold your breath is funny though. Also, DON'T DUMP YOUR BRUSHES IN WATER LIKE THAT!, That's why all the hilts on his brushes are rusted and it will leak through your paint, also NEVER buy copper brushes as they rust!!!! Wash them before you go and form the tips with you fingers so they last longer. Water the paint not the brush.
@paintcalgary YOUR AN IDIOT FOR A START. I AM AMERICAN AND I ALWAYS DO THE MOST PERFECT WORK AND WE AMERICANS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT. RULE NO.#1. THIS IS MY VIDEO AND NOT YOURS. I WILL HOLD ALL MY PAINT VIDEOS UP TO YOURS ANY DAY, SON. I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT AND EVERYTHING I DO IS RIGHT, RULE NO. 2#. GET IT??... GOT IT....?? GOOD....
I don't agree with 99% of what you say. Those are all your opinions. I think that cutting in a line on a garage door is WAY harder than cutting in a ceiling, etc. I also happen to have many paint brushes with rusted hilts. I have NEVER had the rust leak into my paint...but then again...I don't dunk my entire brush into my paint as you must do. You must not know much about metal either...because I've never seen rusty copper! HAH.
miss guesing a foot by 2 inch's is worrying if your a P&D, and if your a PROfesinal painter as you clame you should always have some sort of protection for the ground! human error/accidents? this man lies to you..... :@
@novaboy2kbeta You my sir are in IDIOT , Oh and try spell check before you criticize people .guesing is actually guessing, PROfesinal is actually Professional, clame is actually claim ;)
This man is trying to help idiots like yourself ,and by not paying full attention to the video as he start to explain putting something down especially ON CONCRETE , hence 2:34 which leads me to believe your not really someone I myself would want on my job as you lack "paying attention to detail skills" .
@novaboy2kbeta THIS IS MY PERSONAL VIDEO, SON. NOT A PAID PROFESSIONAL BY THE BOOK LESSON. YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL YOU ARE EVEN SEEING THIS PART OF MY PRIVATE LIFE. I MAKE THESE VIDEOS FOR MY SON WHO WANTS TO BE A FUTURE PAINTER. THESE VIDEOS WERE NOT MADE FOR YOU SO SIT DOWN, AND STFU...THANK YOU. RH DSD
Comments posted on this channel are examples there are wars on our planet. Where is the love folks? DIO is trying to help us with his knowledge of a trade he has been involved with for many years. Are your telling me that you are all better than he is. Everyone has tips and knowledge to share. Quit being a bunch of fools, and open your minds to KNOWLEDGE. When you stop learning, you are dead!
Well said Paul, such a shame when people have to always make silly comments about someone who is trying to help, I enjoy all of DiosspeedDemon's videos, I find them really useful. Ii also like your quote " When you stop learning, you are dead! That is so true.
@paulgosen777 I'll tell you why this guy gets negative comments . He's talking as if he's the only person on the planet who knows how to paint. He's telling us how great he is, and how not great everybody else is, including you '777. Nobody likes a know-it-all?
Very informative teaching technique. I have been painting for 15 years professionally and have finally decided to check out some youtube videos on the subject. Hey, better late than never, right? Anyways, the method of twisting your brush across the cut line will help me I'm sure. Also, staying 1/8" away on your 2nd coat is a great tip, to prevent unwanted 'cascading'. Good info, I think I'll subscribe to your channel. Thanks
@paulgosen777 I have learned all my tecniques from a company with 15 of the best painters in the world. All had their own style and painting ways and I kept silent and learned from them all. The best two years of my life from 48-50 years old. I by no means no it all or everything in this field. I am just showing what I learned and hope this will help others starting in painting. I wish i had videos like this when I was starting. THanks AGain, Randy H DSD
Why would you paint a garage door like that? First rule of painting: Get paint on the surface.......lol. There is no one coat paint, everything is two coat, lol...not true. Hold your breath.......lol.......Thanks for the laughs, it was really funny to watch this.
Acc a Professional painter does get it on his hands may get it on the floor and yes gets it on wot he ever hes painting it dont make you a good painter if you dont get it on your hands???
Thanks for showing the cutting in. I learned the same way from trial and error so its good to know ive been doing it pretty much right and not wasting my time with an inferior technique. Im wondering if a good painter doesnt get on his hands is there another need for latex gloves? lol tell me you get a few specks on your hand and such. i have a problem with the paint eventually riding up onto the brush handle and getting on my fingers. Im not sloppy so not sure why this happens?
Painting a "perfect" line along an edge that is a gap?! Give me a break! Try doing it where there is no gap! Funny thing is it's still not a straight line! With a gap that big, you might as well stick a piece of cardboard in there. HAHAHHA
@infinera06 YOU TRY PAINTING A STRAIGHT LINE WITH A CAMERA VIEW FINDER IN ONE HAND AND A BRUSH IN THE OTHER, CARDBOARD MUSH BRAIN. I BET YOU PERSONALLY CANNOT CHEW BUBBLE GUM AND TIE YOUR SHOELACES AT THE SAME TIME. JESUS H. CHRIST.....
brotha, i really dig your techniques in painting, as well as in teaching. you are very thorough and deliberate. really helps us beginners.
keep doing your thing. forget about these faggot pussies that paint to get mind fucked off the fumes. dick heads gotta hide behind fake names to make harsh comments. these are the kind of wimps a former nebraska conrhusker would love to tear they fucking skull of their limp-wristed vertebrae. learn some fucking manners you lot of orphaned bastards.
@Pamgleemas0271 I AM HAPPY THAT SOME OF MY KNOWLEDGE LEARNED THRU HARD LESSONS, CAN BE SHOWN TO BE OF USE WITHOUT THE TRIAL AND ERROR TO GET IT RIGHT. thank you. RH DSD
To the caps lock kid Australia has the strongest economy now you fuck wit our painters are better then you red necks and we don't scratch the paint on we put it on all paints thick just like you fucking skull I would love to see a roller handle wrapped around yours
man what the fuck, only thing i see in comments is you using CAPS way to much and sounding like a mad man in answering, if the comments annoy you just chill, answer the next day if you have to, atleast then your more calm.
@DIOSpeedDemon ah ok i see now that you are a insane redneck fuck up, you cant paint for shit and your comments make you look like a 7 year old. i was being nice before because i thought you might be mentally retarded, now i dont give a shit.
Sorry mate I can do better than that. I use a harris no loss one to two inch brush and a little more paint than you applied there, in my opinion the only real "technique" for neat cutting in is practise. Also, I am yet to see a video on here where anyone cuts in on an old (say edwardian) wall where the ceiling line isn't dead straight - i.e. MOST walls!
Sorry mate I can do better than that. paint does not come off concrete??? shit i've drop paint few times and even when it's 98 degrees outside 2:40 (on the sum sun son summer lol) and all i use is water and a wire brush, let's not forget that i use a lifetime warranty paint that is thick as hell.
@djlazlow1 THEY ARE. I CALL THEM BLUE BOTTLES, BECAUSE OF THE BLUE STRANDS IN THEM. NOTHING CUTS A BETTER LINE , EXCEPT MAYBE A LASER. I LOVE THEM. BUY THE BEST AND PAINT LIKE THE BEST. THANKS BRO. RH DSD
@aircooledwizard AT 50 YEARS OLD, I HAVE BEEN AN ADULT FOR LONGER THAN I CAN REMEMBER. I WAS BORN WITH A GRACO CONTRACTOR GUN IN ONE HAND AND A PURDY IN THE OTHER. YOU JUST A LITTLE WHINING UK BABY. SNIVELER.......
@DIOSpeedDemon You cant even hold a good argument let alone a Purdy. Have some content to your replies rather than just personal insults. 50 years old? You need to grow up a little mate and learn to admit that your want to teach far outweighs your ability to produce good results. I have now watched this video 3 times and it still makes me wonder how you class yourself as a pro!!! Maybe you should teach painting at nursery? (Thats kindergarten by the way).......
@aircooledwizard ALL THOSE THREE TIMES, I MADE MONEY OFF YOU, MATE. KEEP WATCHING. YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING YOU THICK WANKER YANKER. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!
@aircooledwizard YOU JUST CANT BEAT US AMERICANS. WE GOT YOU OUT MANUEVERED , OUT CLASSED AND BEAT AT EVERYTHING. THANKS FOR ADDING TO MY BANK BALANCE , MATE. I APPRECIATE IT, REALLY.....HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAA.
@DIOSpeedDemon Youre very welcome. You obviously need the money. Unlike me :) Yanks have class????? errr....no. Your technology is still in the 70's mate. My wife is Anglo American, (even she hates you lot) and ive been to your sorry country a few times. Youre so far behind its laughable. Have you ever been here? No you havent, and even if you say you have i wouldnt believe it. Because as a pro painter, i bet you earn absolutely nothing with that shitty standard of work. Youre a joke.
@aircooledwizard I DONT HAVE TO GO TO YOUR COUNTRY. I HAVE SEEN MEL GIBSON IN BRAVEHEART, WHICH IS ACTUALLY A MODERN DAY DOCUMENTARY OF HOW YOU PEOPLE LIVE. AMERICA IS THE BEST, I AM THE BEST AND IT AINT BRAGGIN' IF YOU CAN BACK IT UP, WHICH I CAN. UK LEADERSHIP???? WHEN??? WHERE??. STICK TO KEEPING ALL YOUR PEOPLE FROM RIOTING AND BURNING UP CARS...
@DIOSpeedDemon Thats the trouble with yanks, they think their stupid films are real. For fuck sake, even Churchill had an American accent in your films HAHAHAHAAHAHA. Shows just how little you lot know about our country. Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, American actors and total fruit loops. Absolute nutcases with big mouths. Yep, definitely american slobs. The only thing youre good at is being fat, waffling on burgers and watching TV :) Hey, here's a new word for you. Excercise.
Actually an expert who wants to do the job properly DOES uses tape. Then, you can paint much faster, pull off the tape and have a very nice job. I've seen plenty of pros tell me they didn't need tape and then make mistakes. Use the tape!
Please don't compare yourself to the "great painters of portraits" anyone with half a brain and somewhat decent hand eye coordination can paint houses and fences. Do a video of you painting some gorgeous portrait with your awesome free hand technique, OH WAIT YOU CANT BECAUSE YOU ARE A COMMON DAY LABORER THAT THINKS HES REALLY TALENTED BUT IS NOT
@AxisPlanets He wasnt comparing himself to great painters of portraits. Where the heck would you even get that idea? Quick on the trolling fingers huh? He was simply saying that those painters did not need to tape off to make a straight line where 2 colors meet in their portraits. Therefore the same goes when cutting in a house thats bigger and less detailed. Dont need tape. Nice malicious insult though but it kind of backfired as an insult to your own poor reading comprehension.
lol I remember going back to a job did ten years ago when I first started painting, and I was kind of like who made this f***ing mess!..... oh yeah it was me!
@BurntDead I REMEMBER 20 years ago, before I joined a Professional band of Alcoholics who painted on the side, and Really Learned a bunch of Good Secrets....
its been a while since ive been painting. recently started back up for a local business. many years ago my friend (a pro painter) taught me how to cut on windows and trim. he used the same technique you do. this was a great refresher thanks. its a tradeoff isnt it...tape for speed but bleed versus no tape & patience for a straight line. ive often wondered what the actual difference is in the amount of time it takes to tape vs just cutting. thanks for your vids! love them!
@ThePcar33 Taping should only be used in my opinion, around fixtures that cannot be removed or baseboards where gravity will carry the paint downwards and ruin the fine line. The more you can paint with no tape the better and faster you will become= remember all the great painters in history who did portraits, DID THEY USE TAPE??? Hell no, they used free hand from practice and so can every painter with a little patience and help from someone who believes in them like: ME...
lol do people really need videos to learn that? I was expecting some kind of a super technique but this shit, I learned when I was 10 repainting our new appartements. LOL...
P.S: You dont need to hold your breath all the time if you use a smaller brush and your little finger to keep it steady. Thats how real painters do.
And don't diss tape, it does a much better finish then freehand. I wouldn't pay you shit to paint my house if I saw you go cheap and freehand the straight lines. lol
Rusty ferrule, lol. Purdy brushes give you a straight line usually because they have a chisel type end, Obviously you have to have a steady hand and yes, BREATHING is a big part of it. I use purdy brushes all the time and after practice your cutting in gets straighter and you get faster at doing it too. Don't dis the guy for showing how he cuts in, Every person has different ways of doing things, I do it different to this guy but it doesn't really matter HOW you do it, Does it?
lift the garage door and stand on a ladder then use a wiz roller to paint the sides and top of the garage door rather than cutting with a brush, then drop the door and roll :D
in painting, the breathing is a part and holding the brush proper to your liking as well what a lot of folks don't understand there is a technique and an art if you will to a good quality paint job,you can mix speed with quality but there is a limit,i like to call it being consistant, ive been painting for 32 years and in the good days it would take about 20 minutes per coat for garage door with 4 to 5 windows, anyways good video, dont let negetive assholes bother yea on here,
@Marksmanbbs FINALLY A REAL PAINTER COMMENTS.. THANKS BRO. Breathing is a big part of line cutting for me and it is an art. At 50 years old, I am no young Turk tearing up house painting in record speed. I wish I was faster, but those days are past me and I am man enough to admit it. Now I do quality work and only charge by the hour. I try and show my helpful paint tips on youtube and always seem to get these JEALOUS NO TALENT ASSHOLES, to Diss my work. Thanks Again. RH DSD
@DIOSpeedDemon From my experience, contractor painters are cheapskates. Really? 3$ of tape is too pricy for you? lol You can probably get it down to 50c-1$ a roll if you buy bulk. And no it doesn't take time to install. Theres a very easy technique to install paint tape fast and perfect. Shit I could have done the whole garage primer in 8 minutes.
@PatTheRiot I was taught by the best and I dont come cheap. You can by 50 cent tape that leaks paint and wont keep an edge, forget it. Sherwin Williams white tape is the best, hands down. You can prime the garage in 4 minutes if your fast, but the paint job will last 2 years instead of 15 years like my work. Putting on a 1/2 mill of primer, when you should use 4 mill, is absolute robbery to the discerning customer. QUALITY TAKES TIME, AND THAT IS MY MIDDLE NAME. CHEAP AND FAST IS WEAK. RH DSD
just for the sake of not getting into a texting fight about painting houses professionally, what some folks here are not seeing is your point of this video, which as it is clearly stated,"How to cut a perfectly straight paint line with no tape and free hand"this video didn't say how to clean and prepare a garage door before painting or how to prep a paint job or how to speed paint,so with that being said i will thank you for trying to help folks who are not aware of some of the important issues

@Marksmanbbs Exactly my point. I only used the garage door as it was handy and I had a line to follow at just the right height. I am limited as to point and shoot with one hand and concentrate on my cutting in with the other. Thanks RH DSD
so you're a racist as well as a crap painter! $60 per hour? lmfao..... world series? only yank teams play you mug, bet you don't even know where gt britain is on a map! remember as well you mug, you supposedly speak english not american so get your facts correct you poor excuse for an individual, bet you work at mcdonalds as well judging from the way you paint you prick.
@ukcoolcat GREAT BRITAIN- WHERE IS THAT??? HAVE YOU GOT ELECTRICITY YET OR RUNNING WATER? I thought BraveHeart was a documentary on Modern UK life. hahahahahahaha...
oh and learn to be a painter & decorator because if anyone follows your videos then they are being mislead by a really amateur dimwit fact! end of discussion............
erm, have i asked any questions? No! so who is the stupid one? answer, YOU! you pathetic piece of yank shit, lmfao you really are a retarded twat, as for apology, kiss my arse you thick cunt!
erm have i asked any questions? No! so who is the stupid one? answer, YOU! you pathetic piece of yank shit, lmfao you really are a retarded twat, as for apology, kiss my arse you thick cunt!
i am well aware of how word of mouth works, my comment was made because you are prepared to show how something is done yet are not prepared to show the correct way of working, i.e. preparation, as for your 'iron clad guarantee' if the customer doesn't like the work they won't pay anyway so wtf is that all about? 'do you see any paint on my clothes?' stupid question, you're cutting in so there shouldn't be any anyway, common sense really so again wtf? not open to criticism are you, pmsfl
@ukcoolcat You foreigners ask too many STUPID questions. I am cutting against a break because I have to balance a camera and a viewfinder in my left hand and paint a perfect line with my right. All the while trying to explain a simple job to a ThICK moron as yourself. My work is the best . We Americans are the Best at everything. Apology Accepted. RH DSD
you charge $60 an hour? and you upload this as an example? the surface is unprepared, no dust sheet or drop cloth on the ground if this is anything to go by you are getting away with daylight robbery!
@ukcoolcat ITS called word of mouth and quality costs. I dont use drop cloths in 110 degree heat over shrubbery, kills the shrubs. Besides, how much paint you see on my clothes? I put the paint on the project and nowhere else. My work is Excellent and people pay Whatever I ask. THere are 90% average painters out there but very few top line painters. I charge what the market will bear and I give my few customers an IronClad Guarantee: IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE WORK, YOU DONT PAY A DIME....
@DIOSpeedDemon Pity you don't live next door; you could have had a good laugh at my expense watching me cut in red next to a magnolia wall. After watching your video I think I'm going to invest in some better brushes...!
@BigRouch Good Laugh?? NO. I would come over and help you. Maybe not do the work, but give you some tips and lessons. You would be surprised at how people remind that small kindness and word spreads. What goes around, comes around. My Motto.
@BigRouch Brushes are important but technique is the key. Try this: Keep your eyes on the line you are cutting and DONT MOVE YOUR HEAD. While cutting, try holding your breath as it makes your hands shake. only cut a straight line for about a foot, take another breath and keep going. Practice makes perfect and good luck,. TOo bad I did not live next to you or I would be over their by now. RH DSD
@BigRouch Think about painting for a minute, how many can paint a stick man and how many can paint your portrait as if it were a looking at you thru a window? All my work I will sign and gladly show to anyone. I am extremely slow but art and Quality take time. When I am done it is worth every penny.
@kaskrew99 You are far better at watercoloring with the other children. Next time you make a video, why dont you at least appear to be professional? You come here Disrespecting me and starting a war. Your gonna get BitchSlapped. Quit while your ahead and focus on cleaning your damn paint brushes once a year.
I'd really like to see you paint one of those lazer sharp lines in a hurriane. That would be really impressive. But get yourself a tripod first bud. Peace.

I believe that most of the work in cutting is done when you 1st buy the brush & keeping that brush clean. I love using the slanted tip Purdy brushes for cutting. It becomes more difficult when your using a brush that has the bristles all fanned out.

it"s "ALL TECHNIQUE" I AM BY NO MEANS A "PROFESSIONAL .... but I clearly understand what speed demon is saying here .... you have to bring the "paint UP"!!! to the surface you are trying to cut in ...... .. Typed sent.. done ...Lawssss

if you want to do a video on how to paint a straight line, do it against a flat ceiling or trim or even an accoustic ceiling, not a seam in a garage door. Really?

HAH.

HAHAHHA

I use a harris no loss one to two inch brush and a little more paint than you applied there, in my opinion the only real "technique" for neat cutting in is practise. Please don't compare yourself to the "great painters of portraits" anyone with half a brain and somewhat decent hand eye coordination can paint houses and fences. @AxisPlanets Wow. He's probably a business owner and does very well.
AntisocialVirtuoso 6 months ago
@AxisPlanets He wasnt comparing himself to great painters of portraits. Where the heck would you even get that idea? Quick on the trolling fingers huh? He was simply saying that those painters did not need to tape off to make a straight line where 2 colors meet in their portraits. Therefore the same goes when cutting in a house thats bigger and less detailed. Dont need tape. Nice malicious insult though but it kind of backfired as an insult to your own poor reading comprehension.

its been a while since ive been painting. recently started back up for a local business. many years ago my friend (a pro painter) taught me how to cut on windows and trim. he used the same technique you do. this was a great refresher thanks. its a tradeoff isnt it...tape for speed but bleed versus no tape & patience for a straight line. ive often wondered what the actual difference is in the amount of time it takes to tape vs just cutting. thanks for your vids! love them!
ThePcar33 7 months ago
@ThePcar33 Taping should only be used in my opinion, around fixtures that cannot be removed or baseboards where gravity will carry the paint downwards and ruin the fine line. The more you can paint with no tape the better and faster you will become= remember all the great painters in history who did portraits, DID THEY USE TAPE??? Hell no, they used free hand from practice and so can every painter with a little patience and help from someone who believes in them like: ME...
DIOSpeedDemon 7 months ago
lol do people really need videos to learn that?

Don't dis the guy for showing how he cuts in, Every person has different ways of doing things, I do it different to this guy but it doesn't really matter HOW you do it, Does it?

in painting, the breathing is a part and holding the brush proper to your liking as well what a lot of folks don't understand there is a technique and an art if you will to a good quality paint job,you can mix speed with quality but there is a limit,i like to call it being consistant, ive been painting for 32 years and in the good days it would take about 20 minutes per coat for garage door with 4 to 5 windows, anyways good video, dont let negetive assholes bother yea on here,
Marksmanbbs 11 months ago
@Marksmanbbs FINALLY A REAL PAINTER COMMENTS.. THANKS BRO. Breathing is a big part of line cutting for me and it is an art. Now I do quality work and only charge by the hour. I try and show my helpful paint tips on youtube and always seem to get these JEALOUS NO TALENT ASSHOLES, to Diss my work. Thanks Again. RH DSD
DIOSpeedDemon 11 months ago
@DIOSpeedDemon From my experience, contractor painters are cheapskates. Really? 3$ of tape is too pricy for you? lol You can probably get it down to 50c-1$ a roll if you buy bulk. And no it doesn't take time to install. Theres a very easy technique to install paint tape fast and perfect. Shit I could have done the whole garage primer in 8 minutes.
PatTheRiot 8 months ago
RH DSD

RH DSD

@DIOSpeedDemon LOL thanks, and I agree with the post above about 'quality costs'...!

@BigRouch Think about painting for a minute, how many can paint a stick man and how many can paint your portrait as if it were a looking at you thru a window? All my work I will sign and gladly show to anyone. I am extremely slow but art and Quality take time. When I am done it is worth every penny.
