Hey , people, does anyone remember a movie that was about a woman being stalked and terrorized by , at the end turned out to be a dummy , placed in strategic locations. It had the word " Evil " in the title and was a big movie on Channel 5 back in the 70s when I lived in Braintree Mass..
i love old movies when a midget in a doll mask is scary and blood is chocolate syrup you know that it was easy to scare people not like todays movies with specal effects and horrable acting rest in peace alfred hitchcock
Do you think this is one of the sources to Magic, Dolls, Child's Play, Puppet Master, Devil Doll and even Making Contact? did you ever see this on Mystery Science Theater 3000?
@Johnlindsey289 This, Dead of Night and The Devil Doll (1936) were all heavy inspirations for those films, i think. I've seen this film in both it's proper original version as well as the MST3K version.
I lived across the street form a drive-in theatre, when I was growing up, and we could see the screen form the upstairs windows, even though we couldn't hear anything....
Anyway, I caught a glimpse of this in about 1960, and it scared the living &#*@$# out of me!
What unbelievably corny voiceover! Who could write something so lame and be serious about it?!
"You will learn the dummy's sinister secret only at the end of this most unusual suspense thriller (which was filmed using cameras and microphones on what is called a film set, using what we call actors playing what we call roles)."
Oh, and don't forget that for maximum "shock sock" you should see it from the beginning! Not the end or the middle like you would usually view a movie.
A fine film, even without the MST3K treatment. Bryant Haliday out of The Projected Man, William Sylvester and Alan Gifford (the guy who played Insp Fernack in The Saint) who both wound up in 2001 - ooh, and Sanda Dorne, the poor man's Diana Dors, in an outfit my pubescent imagination cherished dearly...
Anyone who liked this movie should watch "Making Contact (a.k.a. Joey)", it's a highly underrated cult 1985 German horror fantasy supernatural drama thriller which is a debut movie from Roland Emmerich and i think it's better then his later hollywood movies. Watch it by clicking on my name to check out my videos, first watch the heavily edited and altered U.S. English dubbed version from New World then the Uncut German version with subtitles.
You can get this film at Netflicks or Blockbusters . The dark haired woman dancing also played In the Hammer Film "Curse of The Werewolf" (1961) as the servent girl who Is raped In jail and gives birth to the titled creature (Oliver Reed) . Her name Is Ms. Yvonne Romain and she Is one fine looking woman .....

I remember seeing Yvonne Romain in that film years ago and thinking WOW. She was indeed a fine figure of a woman . I remember some horrible old man creeping up on her. Ive never heard or seen of her since or in anything else , Ill have to Google her.
I remember years ago on the sci fi channel they used to show a short film of a demonic doll trying to kill a woman. Please if somebody have that it would be great to be posted.
No that's a movie with that indian doll or something. the one i refer is a short clip that they used to show between commercials at the end the woman hit the doll with a baseball bat ripping his head of. There where other shorts clip like those in sci fi. But thanks of reminding me that old movie i love it.
The one i refer is a short clip they used to show in the sci fi channel between commercials it was something like 1995 through 1997 or something. There where others like a man building a big rat trap and commits suicide and one where a janitor is attacked by mannequins and then turned into one at the end and many more. thank for replying.
Hilarious! I think the doll is a better actor than the others

I believe Child's Play was based on this movie and Trilogy of Terror, it has the similar ideas of a doll with a soul

I always enjoyed it before the MST3K treatment and i enjoyed that version as well.

Ohh, you're an ugly little dummy, aren't you?
An ugly, stupid, horrible little dummy stuffed with sawdust. A dummy who will never have ham! Certainly not unless he gets it himself.
