Many kids have natural sense of rhytm - and it has nothing to do with skin color or ethnic background. I used to work in daycare where youngest kids were around 12mos old and even thou they couldn't talk yet and had just learnt to walk they started to shake themselves when we put some children pop music CD in the player.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen is how baby - who sits on the floor and has concentrated to something else like playing - starts to shake him/herself

along the rhytm of music, propably even not realizing what he/she is doing (aside the playing)

Also, when you ask 3-5yo kids to clap along the music they are listening, some naturally clap in rhytm and some have really to concentrate in what they are doing and/or copy the clapping rhytm with looking other's clapping.

Kids are, like with many other things too, individuals when it comes to natural sense of rhytm and tones/tune.
