@Dontrail1234 i think they would lose some of the iron content after being fired. I would just spend the 10 bucks max on the clay. Or use some Ferric Iron nails....
i mixed it in with the dirt, then I made sure to cover it with about 3/4 an inch or more of regular gravel. You have to be super careful adding water and have to do about 100% waterchanges for a month or so after just to make sure all the nutrients are out of the water. PLANT heavily to help the tank get rolling!

In some countrys of south America or México the bricks are made in some cases of clay ,so i use some for a nano an i got great results

Clay that you would buy a kid to make something out of. Potters Red clay. People use it from the wild. I haven't but here its ok....
