  • 5:10 Fighting sharks Like a Baws!

  • The mouth was shit. Otherwise its the perfect jaws ride

  • From what I heard they couldn't keep the ride this way. The ride design was flawed and they had to shut it down and redesign it. You notice in the part where the shark literally rams the boat. Yeah that had the problem of knocking the boat and/or the shark off the tracks. Multiply that times how many rides per day and then weeks and the problem added up. That's just what I read.

  • Boy was this ride different then!

  • the skin on these sharks are very identical to the sharks in Jaws 1 all that needed fixing was that mouth original was better

  • it will be missed. FUCK HARRY POTTER

  • ok maybe not the look... but i think the color is a little better. also the articulation of the sharks is much better. also that shark explosion at the end was bad ass! im finding a full vid of the original ride!

  • ok.... why the hell is it that after 21 years and 2 7 month reboots of the ride do the sharks both look and move better? thje movement in the boat house in this is a lot better than what the updated one did. and its not just cause its old. it was definitely different. damn you universal.

  • Thank you so much for this amazing footage of such a classic attraction. Jaws, you will be missed :(

  • they should have kept it this way if u ask my opinion

  • why is my right ear so lonely???

  • the old shark was definately scarier

  • Orca would be my dream boat. Do you know if they still have it? I would buy it if so!

  • One question, for the "blood" effect, do they spray some kind of liquid into the water or is it done another way? How do they keep the water blue with the liquid continually being sprayed into the water?

  • Why didn't they keep the boat house shark like that?

  • farwell and adue to you fare spanish ladies

farewell and adue to you ladies of spain,

for we recieved our orders to sail back to boston

never more shall we see you again.

  • @BurnMichaelWeston I was gonna type that but you did it first. Amen! I will miss this ride!

  • Wow that shark was way more lively then the older newer version. Then again naturally the newer shark did resemble JAWS alittle better.

  • @MrDunlevy thats why they had to replace it the SX were to complex like when there is the blood and stuff the re set and stuff... and there were way to many tech problems with the sharks too

  • @EmilysVlogshow - Yea that I can understand, especially with these water rides, they deteriorate way faster of course, and it's a pain in the ass you gotta drain the entire area or the whole ride to fix it lol

  • the boathouse shark looks real..

  • it looks like that they drove 1990 the boat really by themselves! You can see it at the throttles!

  • I was a kid when I rode this, so I dont remember the teeth being that bad on the kill shark, but I DO remember the 3 times I rode it (one of which was one right after the other) the boathouse shark failed.

But as a kid the shark attacking the boat was always awesome.

  • Hahaha in the boat house it was just like all quiet then a nose appears out of nowhere then just dives at u

  • Is details realy a Guy on da rocks

  • Holy shit... I forgot how much better the boat house shark looked back then... I wish they could've made that version work right.

  • Why couldnt they use Quint Audio if they did that ? It sounded more like friggen Pirates of the Caribbean........

  • I hate to say this, because the Boathouse was always my favorite in the current (**erhem**, recently closed) version.....but I think I actually like the Boathouse even better here! Minus the audio. Not quite as good as the original ride score.

  • The boathouse scene was REALLY amazing in the first version of he ride. The part where the shark grabs the boat... not so hot. I mean you can literally see the teeth falling off the skin. I also like how it's movement seems much less robotic and more real. Maybe we can get Universal to build a new JAWS some day? :D

  • 4:15 NOM NOM NOM

  • Definitely cool to see. I like how the shark "broke" into the boathouse, alongside the bloody water at the end. The fire effect is definitely more exciting (and realistic) than the shark-pulling-the-boat around deal.

    Thanks for posting this =)

  • That was pretty awesome! I started as a Studio Guide at USF in December 1990, and we took a tour of the then-drained Jaws ride and were told about the experience - including the ''shark meat machine'' but I never got to see it - until now. It's also cool that the sinking tour boat looked new - and therefore like it could have just gone down! ; )

  • I've been looking for a video of the first ride. So much different. The bloody water was a nice touch.

  • I can't believe they closed this, I've never been on it. :c darn. I love Universal.

  • Tomcroom - you can post my JAWS ride videos on your blog. Thank you.

  • I cannot stop watching this video. This has made my new year! I cannot wait to visit Japan!

  • This is a treasured video. This version may have not been as exciting, but it did have strengths in some areas. I love this video. I have searched for it for years and now here it is. The shark looks amazing in the boathouse. Favorite!

  • Awesome video! Great way to phase out the ride.

  • @onerandomusername I'm glad you liked it. I only recently remembered that I had it lying in a box in the garage.

  • @tomcroom were u a skipper?

  • @totaldramafreak12 Yes. 1994-1995 and random moments in 1997. :)
