One can only imagine what was going through Winton's head when he saw that the entire audience of old men and women were the same children he'd saved all those years ago. God bless that man.
I know it all happens long time ago and it was almost forgotten. But Im still wondering why the Nobel Peace Prize have President, who only just speaking about peace and meanwhile he is leading war. I still wonder why Nicholas Winton is not rewarded...
Absolutely amazing. However I don't understand how anyone can dislike this? This video makes me cry & makes me realize how good my life is. He's a true hero.
simplesmente lindo ,que bom que Deus ainda manda seus anjos na terra para poupar os inocentes....esse homen teve o maior jesto de amor que alguem poderia ter ........
I chose this man for my American Studies project randomly, and I couldn't be luckier. What a hero. If I were to see this man in real life, I wouldn't know what to do. I'd want to kiss his feet.
What an incredibly powerful video; it just sucks you and stops you dead in your tracks. It's one of the most moving things I've ever seen. And Nicholas Winton is so very distinguished, warm and modest, after saving nearly 700 Czech Jewish children from certain death. It's so beautiful; I'm actually lost for words.
my first time when i saw this "movie" i wanted cry,bcs i cant imagine that if now i will see my parents last time and they will go die just bcs fcking hitler :(( it's quite sad :(( can u guys imagine, that children was like 8months old or 5 years old? it's really sad :(( but Nicolas is a cool guy ... 50 years haven't tell anybody, that he rescued 669 children ! what a HERO...
Man I love this! It's so touching. He's a real hero. He never told anybody or anything. He didn't expect anything in return for saving all those children. That is a true hero. He didn't need super powers. He just needed a kind heart. I love this story so much. It makes me so happy.
"Renata Laxova, Ph.D., a paediatric geneticist, is the discover of the Neu-Laxová syndrome, a rare congenital abnormality involving multiple organs, with autosomal recessive inheritance. She was born in Brno, Czechoslovakia, and survived the Holocaust by inclusion in the Kindertransport"
This is just 1 example of a child saved by Winton. Just imagine the other 1 million children/ 6 million Jews/ ~12 million total killed in the Holocaust- how far advanced would we be had they lived?
@mr18plus3 What a poor outlook on life. How can you put the saving of human lives into perspective? Both men presumably did everything they could to save as many as they could. I don't know about John Rabe, not because I choose to believe every Nazi was bad, as you so naively put it, but because he's less well known.
Also, I find the line "saved ONLY 669 children" disgusting.
Rabe: head of group of "many" who protected Chinese in Nanking had between 300 and 400 in his garden In China a hero but his own colleague Robert Wilson, missionary/doctor who worked with him wrote of Rabe:
"He is well up in Nazi circles and after coming into such close contact as we have for the past few weeks and discovering what a splendid man he is and what a tremendous heart he has, it is hard to reconcile his personality with his adulation of 'Der Fuhrer'" how YOU see it
John Rabe (a German Nazi) saved over 200,000 people during the Nanking massacre 1937.
Sir Nicholas Winton saved only 669 children in 1939. Puts things into persepective.
Winton is labellled a hero and lived a comfortable life. Rabe died in 1950 living in poverty and starvation, with little acknoledgement for his heroic acts.
People chose to remember history how they see it. Not how it was.
he is a truly amazing man who everyone should know about! He is truly enspiring the way he didn't tell anyone until his wife found out. This video brought a tear to my eye! <3 <3 he is a true modern day hero forget celebrities these are the people we want to know about!!!! God bless this man and any other heroes like him xxxxxxxx :)
The moment after "is there anyone... please stand up..." is probably one of the most emotive moments i have ever seen... Still have tears in my eyes sometimes when watching this... God bless this good man!
I am so grateful to BBC for doing this. It's so important tht we remember great heros like Nicholas Winton. All we hear about the Shoah was the many who looked the other way and did nothing. I would rather remember the many thousands who risked everything, including their own children, to do what was right in the sight of G-d. I assure you that what they did will be remembered long after this world passes away-----for all eternity.
World needs more people like Nicholas! I like people like him, I just want to be little bit same. My point is not about save lot of childern every day or give milions to charity. The way is that help to each other, be kind and care about other people.
There are still more then 400 kids from this transport living around the world, who have not been found yet, probably living in South America, South Africa and USA and Canada. A czech historians are searching for them for documentary purposes. Please if you have any knowledge about any person from this list, please let me know and I will pass it to Mr. Minac, who have done 3 movies about this story and is friend of Sir Nicholas Winton.
Shame on you six people who voted a thumbs down. Shame on you for your lack of humanity and decency and compassion and empathy and all the finer qualities of the human race. It is your thinking that will bring about the next holocaust. Perhaps you are even at this moment, planning it.
after watching The Return of the King´s ending for like 10th time, I managed not to cry... but I don´t think I´ll ever be able to do so with this video... :)
I think there was another later programme that they did - as I saw something about him in the last few years..[with grown up kids he rescued in the audience]
I am from Czech rep. , one of the Winton children called Tom Graumann came to our school with presentation about this hero, when the movie about him has ended, none of the people in that room was moving. Everybody were paralyzed with tears on their faces. Even I ,who hadn´t cried on funerals of my both grandmas, had tears with my eyes. It was like best moment ever

this is amazing to watch, he is such a good man thats why God has blessed him with a long life, a true Hero and he didnt even seek recognition , i am completely moved by this! especially when they all stand

To do something like that and ask for nothing in return.. I mean this story brought tears to my eyes. I don't think I've ever met or will ever meet anyone who needs nothing. A true hero. Damn

He isn't a hero. He is only human and he don't forget what is humanity. He is more than a hero.

@MrPumpkinJohn ty debílku.Kolik takových lidí projevilo svojí lidskost?
magicglock 1 year ago
