My family was in US Navy My cousin went down with the USS Indianapolis CA-35 July 30 1945, and my brother who was on USS Chicago CG-11
died of agent orange.
My dad got home OK from WW II.
He was on Okinawa

As a Dutchman I fully agree of course. The point that I don't quite get is that you Swedes were not under German occupation so what's this about America fighting for the freedom of Sweden? In fact, I have accurate information that Sweden supplied Germany with industrial products and raw materials for a long time during the war because non-supply could have meant occupation.

@Urlytje While Sweden's official stance was neutrality, they didn't like the Nazis and really, because it kept Sweden unoccupied, the industrial products trade left Sweden open to harbor Jews and other political, etc. refugees from the Nazis. Sweden was only compliant with Nazi Germany to the point that Sweden would be kept alive and free. Their neutrality was survival, not actual practical affiliation.

Throughout the entire second world war, Sweden aided the allies, specifically Great Britain, by harbouring agents, supplying the British MI5 with german troop movements and spotted German nautic units information and generally harressing the German troop movement throughout Swedish soil. (Although, the Swedish gorvernment called it separatist actions.)
So, no, Sweden did not "aid" the Germans more than anyone else.

We were willing to bankroll the further development of systems the Jet needed help with. It seems the evidence is that your own government killed the project.

Sorry to add another thing but to conclude it,
Pearkes said, and I think this is where your conclusion came from, that the US said they had plenty of jets at the time and did not intend on buying any from them and did not need them. Canada had intended on selling the jet but when the US nor the UK bought or showed interest, it was then scrapped overall as a project by the Canadian government.
Again, there is no US blame or intended harm to be found.

A peace treaty had been signed in 72, but broken in 75 by the NV with greater Soviet support.
It was what is known as a Pyrrhic Victory, you win, but the losses don't show it.

I've met Canadians serving in the US Navy, and at least one Scot serving in the US Army Reserve. Basically, if you speak English, you have a handful of armed services that will take you. Of course...becoming a commissioned officer would be a bit more iffy.
