Remember Mr.Coverdale talking about this song when the album was released and tho it was never released I never thought I'd ever get to hear it, so much obliged for posting it!
Here's a thought on Cov...there is not ONE OTHER VOCALIST in rock history who has worked as many ridiculously talented guitarists....name me one. Richie Blackmore, Mel Galley, Bernie Marsden, John Sykes, Adrian Vandenberg, Steve Vai, Warren DeMartini, and of course, Jimmy freakin' Page....I don't love all of these guys (not a fan of Vai's style), and I love the more blues-rock style and Slide it In more than the later stuff....but Cov is a man who loves guitarists!
@decristo1021 I would say Paul Rogers has him beat. Jimmy Page,Brian May, Paul Kossoff, Steve Vai ,Neal Schon,Gary Moore, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Steve Miller, Buddy Guy, Richie Sambora, Brian Setzer, Slash and Trevor Rabin.
If Page and Coverdale had released the CP album in, say, 1989, instead of Slip of the Tongue and Outrider, it would have sold at least 5 million. As it is, it went platinum right smack in the middle of the grunge horsesh*t. Classic case of bad timing. Three, even two years earlier and this would have been a massive album.
Page's so awsome, too bad he didn't do anything last decade, i would love to hear some new material by him. Outrider, Coverdale Page, No Quarter and Walking into Clarksdale all had very good songs. I Hope the rumors of He writing new stuff with Jason Bonham and John Paul Jones are real.
@Luxmaxnike Check out Black Country Communion's 2nd album, the song Save Me was a song Paige Jones and Jason were working on after the O2 Arena show. It has Zep..... Paige all over it. If Plant stayed on instead of doing his band of joy and reworked zeppelin stuff they would have kicked major ass. Plant is an asshole.
@Luxmaxnike Sounds a little like a slowed down version of Trampled Under Foot. Too bad Plant pussed out. Great song though. Great group BCC. Saw them Live. Bonamassa is epic. check him out. Joe Bonamassa.
@zeprls bcc2 is an amazing album . Not just vintage sounding fas a gimmick but the material is as good as alot of things released in the glory days of stadium rock . They just happen to sound old school but its still really fresh . Great record. anyone who has not heard it is missing out /
the only problem was they hired the wrong Heart drummer! I always wondered if Page fucked up assuming the 70's Heart drummer was this dude. That dude from 70's Heart was a great Bonham clone
wow! absolutely fantastic ,imagine those riff was at 90's ,it sound very modern, those guys are my favarite musicians, if anyone dont likeCoverdale please go away, i just hate those people critizise so much of Coverdale, he is very unique rock singer , nobody sing like him
@666767 it is a tendency of self loathing closet gays to wish and to imply that other men ,better men than themselves , are gay . And then they pretend it offends them . you suck . bad
thanx.were all very luck to have a few people like u posting this stuff.i feel that people didnt give coverdale page a chance.the shows in japan were killer.
Amazing that quality songs like this and River Song (which ended up being recorded for Into The Light) were never used for the Coverdale Page album. Apparently there are five completed tracks unreleased from the sessions. Let's hope that an extended CD or download is available in the future.
If this is an unreleased song, can you please tell me where you got this from? from what album? Is it available for download somewhere? Its a great song and it just kicks ass!
I read in an interview where Page said they had enough material for another C D tucked away . This song was definitely good enough to be on the Page/Coverdale Cd...Shame we`ll probably not hear any of the other unreleased tracks...
its unbeliabable that all of you posting here your stupid opinions forgive this insult to all of us. Coverdale was always a stupid invention,,,but Page involved in this kind of thing??? its really sad and its because of people like you that many of this sixties and seventis "icons" took admiration for granted until the point of loosing all their dignity. Im laughing at this and at you, but at the end its sad. bye, you brainwashed zombies.
@zasel2007 who's brainwashed, let us like what we like.. you not liking coverdale is not our problem.. coverdale is one of the most well-known rock vocalists of all time and was an icon in deep purple, and in whitesnake..
he's sold more than a 100 million records and is often by critics considered to be one of the greatest rock vocalists. Always on top 10, often on top 5. it's all a matter of taste.. and if you dont like coverdale, dont listen to him.
@zasel2007 our "stupid opinons", now who's narrow-minded ?
everybody's entitled to their opinions.. and I looked at your profile and still you have favorited this song ? It doesnt make any sense if you dont care for coverdale..
@zasel2007 Furthermore this record went platinum very fast.
And what's with zeppelin fans (as I am presuming you are):
Sometimes they hate coverdale for thinking he's a like plant (which ofc he is not) and sometimes they hate him for other reasons. He's out there now and great imo and singing rock still. Imagine plant singing old zeppelin songs today.. He cant and he wont.. But mostly he cant..
Why the hell did they leave this off the album?!! This is an awesome song that, unlike Easy Does It - which was great but sounded like rehashed Zeppelin - had a character all its own.
This is a great song & beautiful gem that would have been THE song on their album IMO. I call this Page's Godzilla Guitar Sound...great grind! One of Page's greatest...Coverdale was perfect for it ...Rock Royalty together...will lightning strike twice???? Do a official release of this and tour...we're ready this time!!!
Holy shit , this tune kicks ass - I loved Over Now - this is nice and heavy - - Jimmy's best shot on a new cd has to include Coverdale - hey had a little magic
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where did you get this? Just as soon as I heard the 1st note... I said "Oh Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". I wish they would make more music together. Their only album was my favorite album of the year of '93. I got a lot of people turned on to it... especially when they heard my favorite track "Over Now". Before long... every 1 that I hung out with had a copy of that album. I personally think this period in Page's solo career was his best. He shown his creativity here.
@ultragoji1 Ultrago you are right on the money!..what a great song, why did they leave this off the cd???..this was by far the best album of 1993....I had tickets to see them in september 1993 but the whole tour was cancelled...
