Blogger no longer allow ftp updating of blogs, so I need to migrate the Benways World blog over to a blogspot account, which is annoying. Just haven't got round to it yet.

The PS3 game I'm playing most at the moment is Battlefield 1943.

YouTube can be a pain with uploading, but stick with it, they usually fix stuff in the end :)

Great to see the computer collection again. I've decided to focus my collection on 80s British micros - I so wish I could afford a ZX80 and Jupiter Ace right now. Definitely the golden age of computing. I must go back through your BBC Micro and Electron videos - they bring back great memories.

Don't you wish there was just one console for playing all new games ie Xbox/ps1/gamecube? Just something you could stick the disk/cartridge in regardless of format? Perhaps call it the Super Happy Pappachoock :)

The history behind older games machines is quite interesting but i don't think the same can be said for the newer consoles that just have more numbers at the end.

@pappachook Not really, to be honest.

All of those can be emulated on the PC, but just like the old machines, it just isn't the same as using the real thing.

Also, when I started collecting, I turned my nose up at anything so recent as a Master System or NES. But as the saying goes, time stops for no man. Everything moves on, and what has little mystique now, soon will have.

That ACORN computer, from what I read and researched (we did not have them here in US/CANADA) they seemed to be very "Amiga" like, at least the closest to an Amiga that I have seen, more so then the Atari line of computers, would you agree to this? Either way great machine I wish I could have experienced.

There do seem to be occasions where they're useful though, like if a hard copy is needed somewhere in a hurry. YouTube wanted me to fax them confirmation that I have permission to use my own music once.

Probably it is this Youtube feature making videos randomly available after processing. I did a DEAL Tag response and it kept on saying it was processing the video but displayed a thumbnail and everything in my videolist - still refused to play for a long time. Ended up re-uploading the video and still....

May be YouTube's DRM checking BOT slowing things down :(

Interesting to see the "other" parts of this room all at once, as it has been seen in bits and pieces before but I don't recall ever seeing it all together. It's not too terribly messy at all, compared to my area at the moment... in fact, I'd say it's rather acceptable for someone who actually PLAYS their stuff and doesn't just prop it up for show.

Is your Commodore PET in working order? I'd love seeing it in action at some point!

@phreakindee So would I, but he says he has no software for it. You could always download them and convert them to WAV files, then use one of those tapes with a headphone leas to plug it into your laptop and run them from that.

@phreakindee Yes I thought the same. You really get a feel for Steve's place now. He's often sitting in front of the shelves but now you actually know a little where he sits and what he sees! I'm liking his room a lot. Has a similar feel to mine I'd say. I think I will feel very at home watching the Kingdom on video tape and playing one of the Amigas.
