How to setup the Verizon FiOS Router for multiplayer gaming

Whenever I try to type in the password space, it's putting more than one letter in that space - for example, when I press the letter 'P', 3 black dots pop up, as if I've already put in 3 letters.

It can't be my keyboard, as you can see I'm typing here with no problem. It's only when I try to type in the 'password' space on the router.

Any ideas?

this is normal. This is just a safety feature to avoid people watching your monitor in the room to be able to easily tell how many characters you are really typing. Just type normally and it will work.

@tstainback try this... on the back of the router/modem press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds. then when you go back to the login screen you can enter your own user and pass. GOOD LUCK!!

does verizon use a modem because we got a belkin wireless router and it says you need a modem to connect it to get internet and i can't play xbox live anymore because we can't figure it out. Please help me

Verizon uses a router, not just a simple modem. Sounds like you have a router connecting to a router which is probably the source of your problem. I'd suggest removing Belkin router since it does not support Verizon FiOS.
