Hey, I have a question. I have GH:WT, GH5, and GH:M. I also have a Roland HD-1 Lite Electronic Drum Set. Whenever I hit my electronic drums, they register as a double hit, from my snare to my bass pedal. How do I get this fixed so I can play my drums to my games?
so basicly u need the gh drums to play with normal electric drums :/ i thought i'd b able to use my elctric drum kit for gh because i HAVNT got the gh drums lol :'(
i have a roland td 4 and a guitar hero warriors of rock detachable module. i follow all the directions but when i hit the pads the notes dont register i dont understand plz help
I've recently did this to my kit, the same as your's, and my bass pedal sometimes double hits, but it's almost constant. Do you have any solutions for this problem?
i have the same kit as you (without the optional pads, or the option mesh pads) But i was wondering if you know what the Start/Select buttons would be for the MIDI channels?
Also, what double bass pedel is that, i had one but it crapped out on me unfortunately :/
@aBetterOpinion I have the td-4 and im not sure how to change those options because i dont think i have them. unless you mean on the world tour drumkit
@aBetterOpinion do you also have a fouble note hit problem, or are you just suggesting this would help? what i try to say is, have you experienced this poblem yourself, because other people say this problem occurs because their console emits a note off and a note on event.
Heyy, i am using a Roland TD4KX drum kits and when ever i plug in my kit to my WT kit nothing happens. i have tried both ends of the MIDI cable and every single MIDI channel and still nothing happens :( all the pads are even on the right MIDI settings! anyone got any ideas to get it running? cheers :D
@NerosRedKing sorry, but no, as you need the D pad and the ps3 buttons to operate the game menue. the electronic drumkit only replaces the drumpads on the game drumkit, so you can play more comfortable.
@JakDax2112 Yes the numbers should be the same, I have a DM5 and a video I saw for that one seemed to have the same numbers. If you drums need a midid number set it to 11 I believe.
@JakDax2112 the roland hd-1 does not have assignable pads, but that works fine as well. the only downfall is that the pads that does not trigger a thing can't be adjusted, but this does not give problems with the game. see my video witch pads work :-D
Thanks for the Video. I have been looking for alot of your answers to hooking up Drums to GH and Rock Band. I take it this will work for rock band too?
Cool,...i have a td12,a PC with a Midi card and the game GHWT and no way to make it work....
On my PC, midi work...but when i launch GHWT nothing happen in the game...the note sent are correct (same by defaut,36.38.46.48 etc..) i cant find an answer to this question..a response would be welcome ^^
i think it should be possible to play without the "official drumkit"....just with theTD12,my Pc with Soundblaster midi card and GHWT on it
Hey i have set this up too but having major problems with symbols!! cant seem to do a roll or even a normal hit it registers but maybe the sway causes two hit registers?? its the same with hi hat and both crash and ride just wondering if you had that problem and if so how did you overcome it!!??
It sounds like your problem is that when you hit one pad, it sets off another pad too. I believe this means you need to raise the "threshold" level of the pads being accidentally set off. This means that it will take more pressure to activate the trigger, so it will no longer accidentally happen.
Hey, I just need to ask..I have a cheap Big Beat Kick it drum kit which i doubt you have heard of and it has a USB type 2 input. Will it work if I buy a MIDI/USB cable and hook it up? And by the way .. is there any USB type 2/MIDI available?
I'm waiting for your answer. Thanks for some awesome vids.
I don't think so. The USB would need to be an "output" going into the "input" of the Guitar Hero drumkit. As well, you would most likely need to reassign the midi channels to get the correct mapping. You can always give it a shot though :)
Hey, I have jsut tried to set this up on my td9 but it doesnt seem to work properly, everytime I hit a pad it triggers 2 or 3 times in guitar hero rather than just the once, any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
I've had this problem too. You need to adjust the sensitivity and threshold levels. I forget which does which, but I know that those are responsible for "double hits". Look in your manual for how to adjust (it's easy), but it should help.
I bet that is SO much more accurate than using the original drum set. I have a lot of trouble keeping a streak, mainly because the drums don't pick up some strokes. Thanks for this awesome video!! BTW, you rock in your other vids :D
It's funny though, cause it appears that he has the TD-9 like Jordan from aBetterOpinion, but he doesn't have this problem. You dont happen to be trying this on the Wii are you? That might be our culprit.
Awesome video! I have a TD-3 Kit, which obviously isn't as nice as your kit, but would it work the same way? Also, do you know of any way to bypass the GH:WT kit completly?
It should work, as long as the Midi channels are assignable. Might want to call Roland, or look in your manual. And I don't know of any way to bypass the GHWT kit. I'm pretty sure you have to plug into it for this to work.
I now have the same problem with my TD-3. Apparently the double hits are due to the fact that MIDI transmits a start AND stop time of each note, thus making it look like 2 hits. There is a MIDI filter you can download that some guy made, but it requires you to hook up your MIDI out to your computer and then out again to your GH:WT kit...not doable for me. I am still looking for alternatives.
I'm pretty sure it's not the number that is of importance, but the note. For example, I found a menu on my own kit where I could change the note each pad signals. You can see in the lower right corner that each number corresponds to a note, I think the numbers are just for Roland, but the note is most likely universal (well, it must be). I will try to get a hold of a midi-cable and see if I can connect my kit to world tour.
Hey thanks for the info ... I have one question: I have a td9-kx and wanna set it up but my ghwt kits snare is broken but i assume tjhat doesnt matter? Is it just a read only host now or do all pads need to be working??
amazing. thank you so much for this video. my gh drum kit's pads and symbols are breaking so this would be an awesome alternative. im probably guessing, because this set is more legit, it is more resistant to wear and damage. awesome. thanks again =D
I'm not sure which number I have to change. I have a DM5 Pro kit, and there are 2 sets of numbers. One with letters next to them, and the other set, on all pads, is set at 50. Which do I change?
Cool, I got this working, but is there a way to prevent the crash/ride cymbals from double hitting? I notice this happens often whenever I hit orange.
To you and Gibbsdej below, I don't have a problem with double triggering because I change the "threshold" on the pads to prevent that. If you raise the setting, it will help with this problem. And the hit and release only really refers to the hihat, which I believe I disable the pedal trigger for these vids.
Thanks a -lot- for this video, man! I just got my TD-9KX kit today, and I'll be sure to try this out. I have just a few questions though:
1) Is it possible to use the controls of the V-drum kit as controls for the game? Right now, it's really inconvenient because I have to use my World Tour drum set to navigate through the menus.
2) Do the MIDI settings of (in this case) kit number one change any of the sounds of the actual drums (if you want to use that kit later on without playing the game)?
No problem! 1. No, not really. You can scroll up and down but that's about it. 2. Nope, changint the midi settings doesn't change the sounds of the drums

1. how much did the DB pedal cost? cause i was on the website and it says bass pedal not included
2. is it difficult to set up cymbals that aren't included in the kit?
and one for the Guitar Hero part: will this work on wii and/or 360?
thanks any answer would be appriciated

1. They start at around 60 bucks and go up from there. I recommend the Pearl Double Eliminator.

3. It should work the same for Wii and 360.

So, does the DD506 works with guitar hero ???
fabptitpom 2 years ago
you don't have any issues with double triggering since most electronic drumsets have a trigger for both the hit and release?

Thanks a -lot- for this video, man! I just got my TD-9KX kit today, and I'll be sure to try this out. I have just a few questions though:
1) Is it possible to use the controls of the V-drum kit as controls for the game? Right now, it's really inconvenient because I have to use my World Tour drum set to navigate through the menus.
2) Do the MIDI settings of (in this case) kit number one change any of the sounds of the actual drums (if you want to use that kit later on without playing the game)?

You know what? I'm stupid: those questions had been asked before - no answers needed anymore :). Thanks for the help!
SocijsOntwikseltsaar 2 years ago
No problem! 1. No, not really. You can scroll up and down but that's about it. 2. Nope, changint the midi settings doesn't change the sounds of the drums
